I think that I would vote for and enjoy having #5, not that you could go wrong with any of these choices; several I’ve had my eye on. Thanks John and Keep Looking UP

  2. TXM1836 says:

My vote would be for the survival knife. I guess for the same reason Michele voted for #1… you can never have too many knives! (They’re definitely my weakness…) 🙂

  3. Phil says:

I like #5 the Boruit LT-069 5000 Lumen CREE T6 Bicycle LED Headlamp Pack…The uses are to numerous to mention

  4. TexasScout says:

#1 looks cool, but under powered.
#2 Has a great form factor, quality machining, 1400LM? SRSLY?
#3 I already have on order per your recommendation, wouldn’t mind another…
#4 Instead of Mehgear, get the MecGear SGN3
#5 DO NOT BUY! The light is great, but the bracket that holds the elastic headband (a play on Bruton brand) broke on mine within an hour of receiving it.

Of those choices, #3 is the best choice, depending on what you already have.

  5. Capt.Michaels says:

Hmmm..I wouldn’t mind #5 since it’s for a bicycle helmet. The only concern with that light to keep in mind, regardless of bike helmet or regular use. In a hostile situation if you wear that headlamp. You can guess what someone will be firing at and based on it’s location. I think you get the idea.

Therefore, my official vote goes for #2 It can also be mounted on cap with the clip and be used in many other versatile places than #5 can. No to mention size, space, weight, EDC for #2.

  6. D says:

I’d have to say #3 would make a great addition. Having a knife and a way to start a fire in one is a great space saver when backpacking.

  7. joyce says:

Overall, looks like #3, the knife, world be preferable. With batteries/charging as part of the equation with the other choices, the knife is a SURE thing. You seemed to appreciate many of it’s qualities as well Rourke….

  8. Dairy says:

#3. Like Larry said, can always use a good blade and it doesn’t need batteries. Hey Capt. I’m thinking…………Not. 🙂

  9. ralph k says:

    Hi Rourke,

Nice of you to offer. It shows what a nice guy you are. Always enjoy reading and sometimes commenting. I will give it a go on item #3 if you don’t mind.

    Keep up the great work.

ps not sure what happened at your old site and its new operator, no mojo, too bad.

  10. Brenda says:

    # 5 Borut led headlamp. The multiple beams allow for a wider field of view which is critical in walking hilly, wooded areas.

  11. Dave says:

I’d have to vote for #3. You only need a light in the dark and an extra blade is handy day or night. Plus a built in fire stick, you can make light…
    Thanks JR.
    Keep up the good work!

  12. LibertysTeeth says:

Number 3,without a doubt. You can never have enough ammo ,or knives! Plus I have a grandson who is a knife-nut like his Papaw.

  13. Indiana Joe says:

We would like to win the HX Outdoors Survival Knife. it looks like a cool blade, you gave it a great review, and I need a new blade for our sheltie’s survival system.

  14. Chad says:

I would have to say number 3, it’s a good looking knife. I think it would be a great addition to my bug out bag project. I have a couple of the others already.
