I can’t hardly watch action movies anymore. Far too often I am criticizing the tactics used rather than just enjoying the movie.

The situation in Hollywood with actresses coming out of the woodwork pointing fingers at men who sexually harassed them is getting out of control. First off – screw Hollywood. Second – there are thousands of pictures of these actresses hanging all over the exact men they are now accusing. Any sexual harassment or abuse is not excused – and neither is the fact that the vast majority of these women failed to report it. That failing to report led to more women being affected. They are not hero’s – they are part of the problem.

I’ve seen the topic of how much ammo to store away for when the SHTF. Frustrating to read – but peaks some good and not so good discussion. No one will ever agree. I might take a “stab” at the topic in the near future but my answer generally is – “as much as you can.”

While many of us continue to downplay the anticipated actions of Antifa come November 4th it is certainly something to be aware of. Community, regional, and national intelligence is something that is rarely discussed.

Is there an Antifa chapter or group in your area? When do they meet? Have you ever attended? Who is in the group? Do they a criminal background? [yes – you can find this out] Do they have plans November 4th?

It appears the controversy surrounding the NFL of late is seriously hurting television ratings. I have not watched a single game and until I feel the NFL shows some sense of Patriotism and commonsense I will continue to boycott.

California has now added “non-binary” as a gender option on their drivers licences.

It’s frigg’n laughable what these people do in the California government. Seriously – just laugh at them. Make a joke, poke fun. I mean – it is so ridiculous why not just treat it as such?

Went out of town Sunday to the Virginia Creeper Trail. The trail starts at a high elevation and you ride a bike down 17 miles through the mountain right near part of the Appalachian Trail.  We took our time and really enjoyed it. There are rest areas and even a restaurant that serves incredible chocolate cake.

The leaves are changing colors and the temperature in the mid-60’s at the start was very nice.

Las Vegas Shooter/Conspiracy: I can’t get on the Internet without seeing someone stating for a “fact” that the Las Vegas shooting was carried out by the US government or some secret organization within it. It never ceases to amaze me how some guy watching a cellphone video in slow motion can totally expose a secret mission carried out by the most powerful government in the world. Man – my tax dollars should have bought better service than that!

No – I do not believe in any great conspiracy. Could there be more to the story than we know? Most certainly. Could there have been others involved? Absolutely. Could Paddock have carried this horrible deed out by himself? Easily. Regardless of what is stated on other websites, this guy did not carry out some highly complex tactical operation. He shot out of a window at a massive target – and missed ALOT.

Binary Triggers – With the pending gun control efforts the interest in binary triggers and other devices that help shoot faster has peaked. Binary triggers operate to fire a round on both the pull, and release of the trigger. Unlike bump fire stocks, the binary trigger can be a more effective combat multiplier to put rounds down range ACCURATELY.

With all the talk of gun control going on it’s difficult not to think about guns purchased “off the books”. The thought process for many is to have firearms hid away that were purchased via private sale with no paper trail leading back to them. So, in the case of any kind of gun confiscation or ban the ability to arm themselves would remain. There really is no indication of anything like that happening anytime in the near future. A bit of paranoia on my part.

A bipartisan gun control Bill has been introduced in Congress. While I hope and suspect the Bill will not pass I have been wrong before. As preppers, we do not deal with certainty. It is the uncertainty of this world that often drives us to take logical steps to be ready. I do believe if this Bill fails – there will be another – eventually. Check out the video below from the Military Arms Channel. While I think there is a level of exaggeration and glorification into the video itself you never know. I have read the Bill and it is extremely general and open to interpretation. I cannot see it passing, but……

The BIG story is entertainment mogul, Harvey Weinstein. He has been accused of sexual assault, rape – and other devious deeds. The evidence released to the public is damning and leaves no doubt to his guilt. Here is the issue – he is another mega-Liberal caught.

But wait – I thought Republican’s and Conservatives were anti-women and bad for women? I mean – Obama and Hillary said if Republicans get elected it will be bad for women – and pretty much everyone else. The hypocrisy is incredible. Again they speak and preach from no moral high ground. They base their opinions and beliefs on polls and power rather than principles. It is really sad that their Sheeple cannot see they are actually being enslaved rather than Liberated.

It appears the outrage of the NFL kneeling players is having an effect. Owners are suggesting there may need to be a rule change requiring that players stand during the National Anthem. To hear even the consideration is a win for Patriots everywhere.

“The purpose of the 2nd Amendment isn’t hunting nor just defending one’s home. Its purpose is to provide citizens a means which to take this country back from the grasp of an out of control government. That isn’t done with revolvers and bolt action rifles.”

Evidence continues to mount that social media platforms such as Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter are unfairly censoring those of us with a Conservative and patriotic message. Some of the reasons Conservatives are getting temporary bans are ridiculous. I have been thinki9ng of starting a Patreon video channel. Patreon is much more friendly to the 2nd Amendment and those with pro-Constitutional ideals.

A popular survival blog recently discussed the possibility that Congress will pass some type of gun control. Possible things considered include moving bump stocks to a Class III designation. Questions surrounding binary triggers are running rampant and they are selling like hotcakes. I just listed a few things on eBay and should they sell i’m going to place an order myself. Someone tells me I can’t have something I instantly want it. Yeah – I’m falling for it.

Up next is the possibility that over 30 round magazines may be banned. This would allow Republicans to say they did something – without pissing off too many gun owners.

Folks – it isn’t about the Constitution. It’s about polling, reelections, and the general public.

The protests in the NFL continued on Sunday with many players taking a knee during the National Anthem – or making some other gesture. Pretty pathetic. My own protest over how the NFL leadership is handling this situation involves absolutely no watching of any games whatsoever.

Recently saw a rant on Facebook by a national preparedness magazine writer against the LifeStraw. Basically, his issue was he sent an email to the company requesting information on whether or not the LifeStraw would be a good tool to use in Florida and Houston where chemicals are found in the water. Due to their not emailing him back within a week or so he said he could no longer recommend the LifeStraw filter.

That is a mistake.

First – the LifeStraw does not remove chemicals from water. That is not its intended purpose. It is right on their website. In fact, the vast majority of water filters that we have access to do not remove chemicals. That includes the Sawyer. Now – step it up a level to a Berkey and chemical removal – or significant reduction – occurs.

At times I find myself getting down with all the political rhetoric and flat-out corruption in government at all levels. I was recently reminded listening to an interview that all is not bleak. While the MSM sides with violent protestors, anti-Patriotic football players, socialist governments, and most anything this country was founded upon, take a step back and look at what these people are doing.

It’s laughable.

There is actually a group of people arguing that men should be allowed to use the women’s restroom – and vice versa.

The kneeling of NFL players during the NFL is not a matter of free speech. It is a matter of disrespect and a sign of the times.

Listen to the National Anthem. Consider the great, incredible things this country has done around the world and here at home. Oh – and when I say “this country” I am referring to the people of this country – ALL THE PEOPLE. Yes, this includes the military, leaders, and common citizens that built the greatest country in the world.

Remember – just because you have the ability to kneel – doesn’t mean you should. Just remember that because you have the right to express yourself – doesn’t mean the rest of the country can’t call you an asshole because of it.

I was recently asked why I do not support transgenders in the military.

I do not believe that transgenders are normal and it is a sign of a mental disorder.  These people need help. A large percentage of transgenders are suicidal or at a minimum unbalanced.  This is not a logical thing for combat duty. Far too often in today’s “modern” politically correct society that which is not normal nor healthy – or right – is being made normal, healthy, and right due to the power of special interest groups. Political correctness is un-American.

I do not support any normalization of that which is not normal. Period.

More media bias exposed. CNN reported on the funny video that Trump retweeted where someone edited in the President hitting a golf ball and then the camera swings and shows it hitting Hillary as she is boarding a plane. While most normal people can laugh at such an attempt at comedy CNN freaked out over it.

At this same time, they ignored a Tweet by pro-Antifa college professor who said he enjoyed teaching “future dead cops”.

Hurricane Maria Update: Maria is getting ready to slam Puerto Rico and continue towards a general direction of the East Coast of the United States. Most of the tracking shows Hurricane Maria turning sharply north. It is still a long ways out and much could change. If anywhere within the range of this storm keep an eye on it.

Saw a report that Hillary Clinton might be funneling money to Antifa. She is not going to fund organizations such as Antifa. Regardless of the MSM Left-leaning agenda if proof came out it would be devastating not only to the Clinton’s but to the Democratic party. Look – the Democrat’s want nothing more than the Clinton’s to crawl away and be silent. They need fresh blood to motivate the masses and by 2020 they will likely have it.

Hurricane Maria Update: Tracking by midday Monday is showing the storm taking a northern turn potential heading towards the Carolina coast – or possibly out to sea or even heading towards New England. At this point, it is too early to tell.

Oh….Maria is now a Catagory 5 hurricane.

Evacuation: There is a saying that goes something like this – “Bugging out without a plan means you’re a refugee.” Think about that for awhile. Consider the reason for evacuation – which is what bugging out is. I guess evacuation isn’t “prepper” enough so we call it “bugging out”.

I just discovered one of my uncles died back in 2010. Having been disconnected with parts of the family I never received the news.

Horse Shoe ~ John Tweedie, 85, died Friday, October 22, 2010 at his residence in Horseshoe, NC.

John “Jack” was born in Boston, MA on November 15, 1925 and was the son of the late John Malden Tweedie and Helen Jane Sawyer Tweedie. He was husband of 63 years to the late Madeline Wilkins who was his childhood sweetheart.

Mr. Tweedie was a Navy Radarman, second class entering at the age of 17 in January 11 of 1943 until February 17, 1946. He received the Purple Heart Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, the American Theater Medal, the European/African Theater Medal-3 stars, the Asiatic/Pacific Theatre Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He served on the DE 426 Landsdale in Oran, Algiers. His ship was torpedoed by heavy German fighter action and was sunk. Most of the crew escaped. Jack was the last survivor off. All floated in oil-soaked water for four hours. Jack had given up his life preserver to another shipmate who was a poor swimmer. After their rescue, he was transferred to the Pacific, serving on the USS Mayo which was present during the signing of the Japan surrender ceremony.

I remember hearing stories of the sinking of his ship and being in the water. Concerns about sharks were mentioned and filled my imagination as a child. He – among several other adult men in my family – provided me fine examples to look up to.

One of my favorite Apocalyptic movies is Maximum Overdrive. If not familiar it is about a passing comet has an effect on all mechanical entities in that they come alive. Of course, they go after all humans. While there are some serious problems with the science behind the story it is for entertainment. Ignore the plausibility and just enjoy it.

A local gun shop asked me about a partnership to bring preparedness supplies and information to their customer. The place is very big and similar to a small Bass Pro Shop. While this may seem like a great opportunity – I’m extremely busy. Not to be selfish but if I don’t get something out of it there are other things I could do with my time. Putting on group seminars and bringing in business will certainly benefit them. I may work up a proposal and see if they are interested. Barter would be acceptable.

This seems to be getting fairly routine: North Korea fires another missile and makes threats. This launch had another missile fly over Japan with a quick reaction from the Japanese government. I can only imagine the reaction should an impact – even without any detonation – occur on Japanese soil.

With the rampant water shortages in Texas and Florida simple tools like the Water Bob would be HUGE to have. A couple tubs in the house could result in storage 200 gallons or so of water.

Continuing to collect parts to build my Commo Can. Basically, a 2-meter ham radio, power supply, antenna, etc all contained in a 50-cal ammo can. Hope to complete in a couple weeks.

I’ve been in discussion with an author who writes prepper fiction. They are wanting me to continue what I started with my book A Survival Story. I’m up for it. I tried writing Book Two in the series a few years ago however I had too many things going on at the time and had to stop. If I move forward I want a clear plot line and direction which to follow.

IRMA Update: By the time most have read this IRMA will have gone through most of Florida and will be entering Georgia. Tracking being as inaccurate as it is means anything could happen. Watching Irma coverage most of Sunday has shown this is a heck of a storm. While it may end up not being as devastating as predicted there is no doubt Florida has been devastated.

In my area, we are being told winds upwards of 35mph with some gusts a bit more. Schools all across the area have been cancelled.

Over the past few years I’ve repeated the same thing on September 11th – “Isn’t it amazing how things have changed since we were attacked all those years ago? We were so united on September 12th. Now? We are so divided.”

It’s the truth.

I fear a similar event together would do nothing but accelerate the division as fingers are pointed and blame is placed.

Finally completed the storage shed at the retreat. Coming along well. Communications is up with power system and an incomplete solar system. 200 watts more of solar ready to be installed along with a massive battery bank.

Looking at adding another 100-watt panel.

Latest Tracking for Irma: Florida is in the bullseye and is going to be devastated. This is a worse case scenario. I pray for everyone affected by Irma and hope for a fast recovery. Terrible.

There is a report that there were more votes in Chicago and then voters during the 2016 General Election. Gee…..and the MSM suggests there is no proof that voter fraud exists.

Folks in my area where winds are predicted to be of Tropical Storm strength are literally freaking out. Not to put these poor folks down but this is a true indication as to the Sheeple nature much of the population exists. They are so lost in their world of comfort, safety, and ignorant bliss that even the slightest indication of anything occurring drives them into the grocery stores buying all the water off the shelves and gas from the gas stations. This is with the storm nearly 5 days away and a good possibility the path could completely change.

I would understand if it was predicted that the area would receive something even remotely close to Florida.

We’ve heard from several of you who are getting ready in Florida. With the change in the projected path, my wife and I have discussed what we need to do with a possible arrival. Not much really. I am approx 180 miles inland and as Hugo proved that is not a tremendous amount of protection.

Should the tracking continue to have Irma head in my direction some basic organization will be done and yard clean up. Pretty much everything in the yard will go in the shed to prevent flying debris. Solar panels on the roof will come down.

Hurricane Irma is currently a Cat 4 and latest tracking has it bearing down on southern Florida. This looks to be a big one. Still quite a ways out it could go anywhere including to the Carolina’s and even northward out to sea.

I can’t figure out if Kim Jong Un is extremely smart – or totally insane. The latest successful testing reportedly consisted of a hydrogen bomb small enough to be placed inside an ICBM. They continue to have major advancements in their nuclear program – if you believe everything that we are being told.
