I’ve been watching the TV series Life Below Zero on Netflix. I’d say these people are nuts for living out in the wilderness and the fridged temps of the arctic – but man what a life! Several of the show’s participants trap and make money selling pelts. I do wonder about the others. How so they make money? They have to buy fuel, some food, fuel, Some have very nice solar setups that are not cheap. Maybe I missed something.

I find the entire Susan Rice/Russia/Trump/Obama/wiretapping story extremely interesting.Curious if we will ever learn the truth and the real story.

Half of working families in the United States live paycheck to paycheck. This is after 8 years of Liberal economic policies. This is NOT evidence of a recovered economy.

There are many reasons why so many love their Kindle and Amazon Fire tablets. One huge advantage is you could literally go years without every buying a book to read as there are tons of free eBooks available. Don’t have a Kindle or Fire? No problem. There are apps that can be installed on most any cell phone or computer for free. No excuses!

Today’s Almost Freebies

Struggled to find any free ebooks that haven’t posted before.

Here are a few cheap ones you may be interested in.

NOTE: If you see a free preparedness eBook that you’re interested in get it now. Prices change often and there is no way to tell how long the book will remain free. Before purchasing a free Kindle book on Amazon make certain the book is still free by making sure the price is $0.00. If it lists a price or says “read for free” or has a price for prime members the book is not free anymore.

I have been watching Life Below Zero too. I don’t know if I could handle it or not either, but you’re right…what a life.

I am thinking for money, they get an annual dividend check from the federal gov’t. If everybody in Alaska gets this money, that could be how the guy with the dog sled and his wife can afford the solar array. Or the guy who is married to the Inuit woman, maybe they get money a similar way from the tribe? He has 15 people that live with them sometimes. Some years the dividends are more than others, but now they want to cap the dividends at $1000. Alaska is on my bucket list.

Alaska…DH and i wish we were back in the 70’s and we might give it a try. (Though it would be handy to know what we know now at that point in our lives to make a success of it!)

i have mentioned my learning about Herbs in the past and for the next few days at least, a new book by a favorite online teacher is $13.58 (at Amazon, though available at most book sellers.) The forward is by Rosemary Gladstar, which is and of itself quite the endorsement. Mine is on it’s way so i haven’t gotten to look it over but would highly recommend ” Alchemy of Herbs” as a part/start to one’s library! I’m sorry i don’t know how to include the link but if anyone does pick it up, Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine is offering some extras…videos, printouts, etc. if you go to Chestnutherbs.com to enter your purchase confirmation number.(This is good till Sat midnight only.) Rosalee De La Forét is a VERY gifted writer and herbalist ….i HIGHLY recommend this to anyone wishing to dip a toe into the waters of herbal medicine…

JR We love watching the Alaskan series. We wanted to go there when we were younger but didnt think we could handle the gigantic mosquitoes or the LONG period of darkness and semi-darkness. The legal citizens each get a yearly stipend of $10,000 from the oil co/gov.
I am surprised those folks dont use dehydrated food. The sad thing is that the changing climate is softening the perma frost so many are losing ground so to speak ‘no pun intended- and many animals and the oil pipeline is being affected also.Sad.
It would be great though to have a family/intentional community and live in super wilderness. Lightning
