Beck: 10 steps to protect YOUR money from MASSIVE, coming changes

I’ve been a fan of Glenn Beck and used to watch his BlazeTV frequently. The last several year’s life happened and watching Glenn became something I just used to do. Over the past few weeks, I caught some of his more recent videos and really like the message he’s sending out.

The following video was released last week and contains some excellent advice and information.

    Here you go…..

The Great Reset is not something I’ve discussed at length. That will be changing.

  • Threat of Cyberattacks

    Threat of Cyberattacks

In 2021 there were numerous well-publicized cyberattacks. One example is the Florida TeamViewer water treatment plant attack. In February of 2021 a water treatment facility in Oldsmar, Florida had a computer breach. Once the attacker gained access to the facilities network they increased the amount of sodium hydroxide in the water by 100 times. The significance of this event cannot be overstated. With that level of sodium hydroxide in the water, it could have caused serious illness and death. Luckily the attack was caught in time.

Another attack that occurred in early 2020 involved the company SolarWinds. In this event, hackers infiltrated the SolarWinds network and deposited code into the companies software system. According to SEC documents, approx 33,000 companies use the SolarWinds software. In March of 2020 SolarWinds sent out a software update and as customers began the update installation they unknowingly allowed hackers access to their computer networks. Microsoft, Intel, and Cisco were hit, as were federal agencies such as the Treasury Department, Justice Department, and the Pentagon. It should be noted that the country of origin for the hackers – Russia.

    Cyberattacks in 2022

With the pending invasion of Ukraine by Russia, many believe we are in grave danger of more cyberattacks this year. Why? The United States and other NATO countries have threatened Russia with severe sanctions should the invasion occur. It’s expected that Russia will respond not with weapons of war, but with weapons of cyberwarfare.

    line

According to Fox News, “A top cybersecurity official Saturday warned that the U.S. is ‘already in a warfare state’ with Russia and said it should prepare for cyberattacks coming out of Moscow.”

    line

The damage that can be unleashed in a cyberattack is truly unlimited.

    Consider the following two scenarios

    Banking

A locking malware attack infects 80% of computers and networks within the company Comerica Bank. Comerica is one of the country’s largest credit card processors and facilitates many state EBT transactions. Their network comes to a screeching halt on April 12th, 2022. Backup servers are infected as well and the entire system will have to be rebuilt from scratch. The estimated minimum time to get back to full operation is 4-6 weeks.

All customer debit, credit, and EBT cards cease to work. Comerica customers call customer service and receive an automated message telling them that services have been temporarily interrupted. News of the malware attack spread across social media and news outlets. Millions of EBT beneficiaries who depend on the government funds on their cards to buy food find themselves unable to buy anything. Within 48 hours protests erupt in Atlanta, Dallas, Pheonix, and several other large cities as EBT recipients became outraged as “their money” can not be accessed.

States rush to calm nerves as the protests grew in numbers and riots began to occur. Promises to get people “their money” were made, but patience was needed as getting the financial systems set up to have a new processor provide the funds would take some time. How much time? Another week was suggested, but, to those who had empty refrigerators and no milk for their children, the announcement left them more outraged. Violence grew as grocery stores became the target of crowds of people who filled carts and stole all they could. Interestingly, the majority of those participating in this mob theft weren’t even EBT recipients.

By April 24th, 2022 most states have switched to a new financial institution for their EBT programs. Payments are made and the rioting ceases. The damage has been done. Hundreds of people have been injured or killed. Billions lost as a result of property damages.

    Power Grid

On March 7th, 2022 at 11:00 am EST a cyberattack reminiscent of the Stuxnet attack of 2010 is carried out in the New England area of the United States. Numerous electrical generating and distribution facilities are infected. What happens within minutes is a combination of equipment which is damaged and network systems that are crashed thereafter. The result: Major portions of New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and southern New Hampshire and Vermont are without electricity. Millions of businesses and households are without electricity. Hospitals are on backup generators. Gas stations cannot pump. Grocery stores cannot sell food and food in freezers begin to thaw. Traffic lights no longer work and traveling through cities and towns of any size is problematic at best.

After 7 days nearly 50% of those affected have power returned, however, millions still remain in the dark. Rerouting power has brought power to some dark areas but damaged equipment must be repaired. It’s estimated those repairs will take several weeks to complete as the country is scoured for parts.

    northeast blackout, shtf, power grid,

Many grocery stores were raided by mobs of locals who went in and took what they needed – and what they didn’t as they had no way of paying for anything. This occurred across the affected states and resulted in riots, and many assaults and murders. Those with less-than-ideal morals took full advantage.

On a positive note, there were several stories of neighborhoods and even some small grocery chains that had massive cookouts with food that was thawing from freezers and was going to go bad due to a lack of refrigeration.

This event did not just affect these New England states. With many financial institutions shut down, numerous financial transaction centers went down as well ceasing millions of debit and credit purchases temporarily. The financial impact on the economy is devastating and it will take years to truly see the impact.

    Preparing for Cyberattack

Preparing for a cyber attack that may affect the power grid, financial institutions, transportation, logistics, supply chains, etc revolves around the basics:

    Food/Water

    Fuel for Vehicles

    Cash

    Defense

    Communication

    Medical and First Aid

    Seasonal and Geographical Considerations

All that could and should be done within the above categories would require commentary well beyond the scope of this post. In summary – consider what is normally needed on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and stockpile.

With the issues going on between the United States and Russia as well as China we need to be prepared as cyber warfare will most certainly become something that threatens our way of life sooner rather than later.

Hold on, folks. We may be in for a hell of a ride in 2022.

    Membership Update

First off – for all those who have joined the Patriot Brigade – thank you so much! Cost is approx .16 cents per day and less with an annual membership.

    A few updates and reminders:

    • Members will see member-only articles and posts on the front page of the website when they are logged in. You can identify these posts as they will say “Private” next to the titles. I am also going to list all member-only posts on the Main Membership Page later today.

    Example:

    • A major update has been added to the member-only download area. We now have over 250 gigabytes of books, manuals, guides, videos, movies, audiobooks, etc.  250 gigabytes is a massive amount of information that took not hours but days to search for and collect. I have zero doubt there are some duplicate files as that comes with the territory. If you are looking to build a digital preparedness library this is the place to go.
    • Several new TV shows and movies have been uploaded to the member area.
    • As mentioned – several member-only posts and articles have been published.

    More to come!!

  • Prepper Food Storage Tip: Peanut Butter

Prepper Food Storage Tip: Peanut Butter

With all the talk of supply chain issues and possible food shortages over the next couple of years, food storage is becoming a very hot topic. Inflation continues to erode our buying power and inconsistent product selection at the market is ever-present. Stockpiling those frequently used items not only helps through “bumps in the road” but provides food security should true food shortages actually arrive. Peanut butter is hugely popular and a common item most families have on a regular basis.

I’ve mentioned over the years many times that peanut butter can be frozen to extend shelflife. In this video, I reiterate the practice with some commentary.

  • Marking Your Magazines

    Marking Your Magazines

This is a Blast From the Past from a few years ago about marking AR magazines(or any mags) for easy identification. Figured some of you may have missed it. Well, here it is……

I’ve recently started marking all my gun magazines. I’m doing this for a couple different reasons.

First – if I have any type of firearm performance issue I will be able to differentiate the suspect magazine from other mags for the same gun. This will help narrow down if the performance issue is related to a specific magazine or possibly ammunition or a gun problem.

Second – ownership is a consideration. Numerous times I have been shooting with friends and having common armament has led to confusion on who owns which magazine. Marking them solves that dilemma.

    20160723_082729

For rifle magazines I use a stencil with numbers/letters. As can be seen above the first few I had some overspray. I took the plastic front cover off a 3-ring binder and cut a square to place the stencil. This stopped the overspray issue.

    20160723_082825

I am using large characters on the AR magazines for easy recognition. A small number on the floor plate would work but I want maximum visibility.

For pistol magazines, a simple Sharpie does the trick.

Some shooters I know only mark magazines they have problems with and then chuck ’em if the problem repeats. That’s fine just not my preference. I’ve seen in forums that some people put their initials and even their address on them. Gotta pass on those two choices.

One last use of magazine markings is to identify the type of ammunition used in the magazine. It may be advantageous to know that Magazine #4 is loaded with 28 rounds of XM855 while the others have standard XM183’s.

    Thoughts?

  • Small Buried Cache

    Small Buried Cache

For a variety of reasons, people look to bury supplies or create a cache. These reasons range from security to pre-positioned supplies along a planned travel path. Caches can be buried or even stashed at a friend’s house. These caches can contain a massive amount of supplies or just a few small items. That’s the beauty of it.  You can customize a cache to be whatever you want it to be.

The following example is a small cache using a MTM Survivor Cache.

    20160730_144457

    Contents:

    Taurus G2 9mm pistol

    3 – 12 round magazines

    100 rds. 9mm ammunition

    flashlight

    extra batteries

    cup

    bottle of Rem-Oil gun lubricant

    LifeStraw

    Bic Lighter(maybe a couple)

    Mora knife

    small first aid kit

*******NOTE: Each item is individually bagged and all metal items well oiled

This cache just as well could have been made with a more durable container such as a .50 caliber military ammo can. Most would agree that using a plastic case such as the MTM Survivor raises the risk of damage from water and pests although it is extremely rugged.

This is merely an example of a cache. The combinations of containers and ingredients are endless.

  • Patriot II AR-Build. Considering the Possibilities

Patriot II AR-Build. Considering the Possibilities

I’m in the process of planning a new AR build – The Patriot II Rifle Build Project. This will be a sequel to the original Patriot Rifle build. With the AR platform, the possibilities are endless. This build will be different in that the entire firearm will be built around the trigger system – the ECHO AR-II Drop-in Binary Trigger.

AR build, project, Patriot, trigger, ECHO trigger, prepper, preparedness

Here’s a bit of info in case you are unfamiliar with the Echo trigger.

    • Echo trigger systeman ATF-approved rifle trigger built specifically for AR 15 platform weapons. These rifle triggers feature an innovative drop-in design for easy installation and deliver crisp, light pulls while in semi-auto mode. Overall, the Fostech Echo Trigger has 3 different modes: safe (firearm will not fire), semi-auto (gun fires when the trigger is pulled), and echo (weapon fires when the trigger is pulled and released).

The video above seems to have the sound messed up but you get the idea.

AR build, AR-15, upper, budget, Patriot, carbine, prepper, preparedness, SHTF, AR upper, project

For the upper, I’ll likely use the Radical Firearms upper I picked up on a Black Friday sale. I have it already so why not? Radical has had some questionable quality in the past. Recent reviews are good so we’ll see.

Radical Firearms 5.56 SOCOM AR-15 Barreled Upper with BMD – 16″

Radical Arms, AR-15, build, SHTF, prepper, survival, preparedness

Summary: This AR-15 upper assembly features the Radical Firearms generation 3 handguard has a new mounting system that ensures the handguard stays tight against the barrel nut and receiver. It is a free-float design, meaning it does not contact the barrel which could result in inconsistent accuracy like standard M4 delta ring handguards. It has M-LOK slots along the sides and bottom for mounting any tactical accessories that you want. The full-length picatinny top rail offers a solid mounting point for scopes, red dots, or iron sights to increase the effectiveness of your rifle.

    Features:

    • 16” 4140 Chromoly barrel with melonite coating
    • 5.56 SOCOM profile
    • M4 feed ramps
    • 1:7 twist rate
    • BMD muzzle brake that reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise
    • 1/2×28 thread pitch
    • Low profile gas block
    • Mid-length gas system
    • Radical Firearms forged MIL-STD upper receiver
    • MIL-STD upper parts kit
    • Radical Firearms forward assist
    • Radical Firearms 15″ M-LOK rail with Gen 3 mounting system
    • Integrated M-LOK attachment points on the sides and bottom

I have a few Anderson and PSA standard lowers. I’ll likely select one of them for this build. Historically I’ve had absolutely zero issues and seen no difference between using inexpensive lowers and the more expensive billet variants.

PSA lower, Patriot rifle, AR build, prepper, AR build

    line

That’s what I’ve got so far. Decisions will be made on optics, buffer system, stock, and a few other misc parts. For a lower, I’ll likely use a standard PSA or Anderson. I’ve been using anti-rotation pins in my last few builds. I just like the way they look and after all – when in the midst of battling hoards of zombies how you look is most important, right?

    Any suggestions, thoughts?

  • Thoughts on the Mossberg Shockwave

    Thoughts on the Mossberg Shockwave

The Mossberg Shockwave is technically neither a shotgun, pistol, nor a rifle. It is simply considered a “firearm”. This is the reason that firearms such as the Shockwave can be purchased legally – in most areas.

Mossberg Shockwave, SHTF, defense, self-defense, prepper, review, preparedness

What is it? It’s the answer to owning a short-barreled shotgun without a tax stamp.

Topped with a bead sight, the Mossberg 590 Shockwave 12 Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun features a 14.375-inch heavy-walled barrel with a matte-blued finish. This shotgun comes with a cylinder bore choke and a 6-round capacity.
    Features and Benefits

    • Cylinder capacity:6
    • Product length (in.):26.37
    • Barrel length (in.):14.37

The Mossberg Shockwave is extremely compact, handy, and powerful. Although extremely short it holds 5 full-size 2 3/4″ 12 gauge shells.

Mossberg Shockwave, compact , modification, SHTF, defense, self-defense, prepper,

Very shortly after I bought the Shockwave a couple years ago I installed the SB Tactical pistol brace on it. I shot it with the OEM pistol grip it comes with and was not impressed. Hey – it’s a super-short “scattergun” with little method for aiming other than using the Force. The addition of the brace makes a HUGE difference.

Shooting the Shockwave with the brace with birdshot is not bad. Full-sized 00-Buck 2 3/4″ shells do pack a wallop and deliberate effort to have a forward stance to control the recoil and muzzle rise is needed. I’ve not shot any slugs through it.

Mossberg Shockwave, SB tactical brace, modification, SHTF, defense, self-defense, prepper,

    KEY MODIFICATION

I’ve already covered the major accessory added in the SB Tactical Brace. One drawback to the design is the limited capacity and no method for adding an extended tubular magazine.

OPSOL TX - OPSOL MINI-CLIP 2.0 FLEX. Shockwave, Mossberg, mini, shells

    The answer:

The OPSol® Mini-Clip 2.0 Flex mini-shell adapter. This simple, inexpensive, and rugged device allows the Shockwave to reliably feed 1.75″ 12-gauge mini-shells. The capacity increase is substantial at 9+1. At less than $20 I cannot say enough good things about this great little adapter.

Mini Shells, Minishells, survival, defense, shotgun, shockwave, home defense, SHTF, prepper, tactical

I really like the mini-shell concept, especially in this platform. I see frequent comments that the mini-shells are “low recoil” and “underpowered”. Certainly the mini-shells – made famous by Aguila – do not contain the same payload as full-sized shells. They absolutely pack a wallop. Frequently when comparing different loads between the 1.75″ and 2 3/4″ shells the difference is simply the number of pellets or weight of slug. An example is the Federal 1.75″ No. 4 Buckshot. It sends 16 balls down range compared to the 24 to 27 in a 2 3/4″ shell. Not sure about you but I’ll pass on getting hit with even one.

When it comes to shotgun shells – size sorta matters….. 😉

    SUMMARY

The Shockwave – as I have equipped – provides a compact and powerful defensive tool. Period. I am famous for saying “options are a wonderful thing” and it’s absolutely true. The Mossberg Shockwave is an option for home and personal defense that fills a niche where other firearms may not. Use the mini-shells or full-size loads. Regardless – have fun!!!!

  • Crimes being decriminalized

    Crimes being decriminalized

There are reports coming out of New York City that armed robbery has been changed from a felony to a misdemeanor. Like many headlines, there’s some truth to the story. New New York City DA Alvin Bragg has made some questionable decisions.

In this new “woke” society we find ourselves in has this “public servant” is no longer pursuing charges for crimes such as resisting arrest, prostitution, and trespassing. Yes – there are details that should be mentioned. He does not want to pursue those who conduct an armed robbery and steal less than $1,000 of money/merchandise from a business.

Similar policies are being enacted all over the country with an emphasis in large cities.

Folks – I know I’m preaching to the choir here but this insanity will make it more dangerous for those in those areas – and elsewhere. Criminals who are allowed to get away with their crimes and are not held to account may travel to YOUR area. They will move and go to other locations and if they continue to prey on others…..crime will continue to rise – everywhere.

I’ll continue to say it: Get out of the cities. Move to a remote location as possible and insulate yourselves as much as possible from the effects of government, society, and reliance on services. If it was easy everyone would do it. We continue to pursue this ourselves. For those who cannot, you do the best you can to be as independent as possible.

Take care all. We are living in crazy times.

Food Shortages? First Hand Report at Local Grocery Store

This past week I stopped by a local grocery store here in South Carolina to check out the “food shortages” I keep hearing about. I was pretty surprised by what I found and this is the worst I’ve seen over the past several months.

With food getting smacked by inflation, trips to get groceries are getting more and more expensive.

Keep stocking up. I do not see this trend reversing or slowing down anytime soon.

  • Celebrities Buying Bunkers…..Really?

    Celebrities Buying Bunkers…..Really?

Seems like every year or two there’s a story about how the rich and famous are buying bunkers. This has been going on for many years. What exactly this is supposed to prove escapes me. Is it a sign that things are getting really bad and the apocalypse is just around the corner? I don’t particularly place a lot of faith in the rich and famous for being particularly smart or prophetic. If I had countless millions and could just throw money around and buy a bunker on this coast ad another on this coast – why not?

I could give two sh$ts what celebrities do and they have absolutely no bearing on me. What is prudent for most of us is to minimize debt, live as frugal as possible, stock up on the necessities as well as common comfort items, and gain a mindset towards preparedness and self-reliance.

Let’s use commonsense and logic to make decisions that will lead us to better outcomes in the future.

Maybe I’m crazy but that seems to make sense to me.

7-week tent review on the OneTigris COSMITTO 2 Person Backpacking Tent – Free Standing Lightweight Waterproof 3 Season Camping Tent.
I did the initial first impression review back in November. I always leave every tent up for at least a month before I take it in the backcountry. It took up to 30 mph winds, 8 + inches of rain with no problem.
    Color great for stealth camping.
A real deal for the money.
Spent 8 nights in it with no condensation problems. Lots of room for two people.
Here are the pictures from yesterday after 5 inches of hard rain.
    Highly recommended.

  • 5 Things to do Right Now to Prepare for 2022

5 Things to do Right Now to Prepare for 2022

Sometimes I sit back and think about the last two years and the impact TIME has had on people’s lives. These last two years, for me, have been extremely eventful. I consider myself lucky as many have lost family due to natural as well as not-so-natural means.

For me – I lost my job back in early 2020(over 20 years for the same company). I went through a divorce between 2018 and 2021. I moved from the Charlotte, NC area to Georgia – then forced(let go from job) to relocate in mid-2020 back to South Carolina not far from Myrtle Beach. Went from living in a 2,000 square foot house to a rented room – to an apartment. Shortly thereafter to a small camper. After 6 months or so bought a larger camper and that’s where we live now. Not all is bad as I met my soulmate – Maine Prepper Girl.

Crazy how life is completely unpredictable and you just never know. I’ll admit I’m nervous about 2022. I’ve earned a promotion and will be moving to Kentucky(still in my camper) very shortly. When I think about 2022 the word that comes to mind is “uncertainty”. With all the craziness going on in the world – preparedness should provide some comfort AND be an absolute necessity.

In the following video, I discuss 5 things we should all be doing to prepare for what awaits us in 2022.

Stay safe everyone and take care.

  • VIDEO: New IRS Reporting to Hurt Side Businesses

VIDEO: New IRS Reporting to Hurt Side Businesses

You may have heard about the new way that the IRS will be monitoring income from “side hustles” and such.  Another example of government continuing to grow larger and larger and get involved in every aspect of your life. This will affect me as well as I sell things on this website and will have to look at the financial implications of this new reporting. The bottom line for me is there are millions of people out there with side businesses trying to get something going – and it will become more expensive to do so as well as provide a disincentive for people to even attempt to go into business for themselves.

I’d like nothing better than to take all my money out of the bank and do nothing but cash transactions. Unfortunately – at least for me – that is not realistic. As someone in the market to purchase land and potentially retreat property, bank financing will likely be required.

Watch the video and comment with your thoughts below.

    Thx

  • Grocery Store Trip

    Grocery Store Trip

I just got back to the camper from a trip to the grocery store and am blown away by the prices. The grocery store is a “KJ’s” which is part of the IGA brand that represents itself as a discount chain. Almost everything I looked at had prices that were significantly above just several weeks ago.

There have been numerous announcements from food companies that price increases upwards of 20-30% . On the positive side I shop around and look for the best prices from multiple stores. I shop sales and stock up on items used daily and weekly to reduce my overall spend.

Am I the only one who has changed eating habits due to increases in food prices? I have not grilled a steak in a couple months. I struggle paying these crazy prices for steak and just look for something else to cook that will allow me to stretch my dollar.

I’ve discovered I absolutely love turkey burgers. Ground turkey with some chopped-up onions added to the patties along with seasoning – FANTASTIC! Guess what? Much cheaper than beef and healthier as well.

Keep prepping folks. Things are going to continue to get more expensive.

Any recommendations on dealing with rising food prices? Please share to help everyone.

  • OMICRON, Government Overreach, Uncertain Future

    OMICRON, Government Overreach, Uncertain Future

Please read this post on COVID, OMICRON, and government overreach all the way to the end.

Brief Current COVID Summary: Over 70% of all diagnosed COVID-19 cases are OMICRON according to the most recent statistics. So far there has been 1 death in the United States and up to 12 possible in the UK. Connected to all of these deaths were secondary health conditions which likely contributed to the fatal outcomes. President Biden recently provided a grim prediction for the unvaccinated – a winter of death for them and their families.  He also told Americans that Christmas and New Year’s can be celebrated and families could get together – but only if they are vaccinated.

Treatments continue to be developed to fight the rapidly spread virus including the recently authorized PAXLOVID. PAXLOVID is the first oral at-home treatment that should decrease hospitalizations as well as deaths. This treatment protocol includes a 5-day course of three PAXLOVID pills given twice per day. Effectiveness is rated at 89% keeping those infected out of the hospital and away from death.

    Cutting Through the BS

The Omicron variant is, in fact, spreading like wildfire across the United States. Collected data can be used in many ways to suggest a variety of different things depending on the perspective of the presenter. We all know that within the general population there is approx a 98.5% rate of survivability after contracting COVID(and improving with each new variant). The Paxlovid pill has shown that those taking it have an 89% reduction rate for hospitalization or death in the test groups. All sides of the COVID issue will utilize these numbers in different ways to further their agendas.

Here’s the bottom line: Developed treatments are reducing hospitalizations and deaths. The Omicron variant and very likely subsequent variants will continue to get weaker providing lower health risks. The virus itself is becoming less of a threat with each passing day.

BTW – the Plaxlovid treatment is not based on some new science. This type of medication has been used to treat HIV for many years.

    Slap of Reality

I’m so sick of hearing about COVID. I’m quite certain that I’m not alone. The MSM continues to pump their fear-mongering to fill news time where Trump as President used to be focussed on. Ratings continue to drop while crime rates continue to increase. Others recklessly spew misinformation from multiple angles causing confusion and providing “facts” leading to potentially deadly decisions. With the COVID virus doing what viruses do and decreasing in strength as new variants are born, the risk is dwindling for most. Plaxlovid – based on early studies – should represent the “light at the of the tunnel”. Normality should be right around the corner for ALL OF US. Is that happening? Nope. Big government will NOT give up power. New York and Boston are two cities where to even go into a restaurant proof of ineffective vaccinations must be provided.

We no longer have a COVID problem. We have a tyranny problem!!

Beyond the extreme inability to make personal health choices regarding vaccinations, treatments, Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, etc. – the government’s overreach by mandating companies require vaccinations and/or testing is huge. School systems and numerous other businesses having mandates are continuing us down a path of division. The inability to freely discuss the issues as social media platforms “fact-check” and delete opinions continue to hammer the 1st amendment.

The people will eventually get sick of this and put a stop to it, or at least that’s what should happen. So far I’ve seen little.

    Update on Website Redesign

Well – I was not thrilled with the looks of the new design. I also had lost some content that was part of the previous design so I reversed everything, retrieved and backed up the content – and installed a new “theme” design.  I’ll spend the next two days trying to clean up the look and details.  Please feel free to give me your opinion on what you think.

This new theme is much more complex to work with as it has many more capabilities and features. Likely completion will be after New Year’s.

    Stay safe all!
