Many may be unaware but we(Maine Prepper Girl and I) live in a camper full-time. It’s a long story and I should probably recap it here at some point but, the point is, I no longer have the land for an in-ground garden like I once did. Yes. A few years ago I lived in a house and had a decent-sized garden where I grew numerous varieties of vegetables. I also had raised beds I used to expand my growing capacity.
So now in a camper, I miss my garden and turned to container gardening. I even made a small 2 foot by 4 foot raised bed.

Although she’s had massive gardens in the past, my wife is going to try container gardening for the 1st time this year, she’s very excited about the idea! Deer will be a problem, they always are.
Growing all you can all the time is a no-brainer these days. I’m blessed to be in an are where I can grow more than I can eat all year long.
I tried raised beds for the first time last year, and while it’s a bit expensive (gross understatement!) to get started, it worked out very well. As with any gardening, there’s a learning curve, but I’m getting an idea of what grows well for me and what the deer prefer.
We started raised beds several years ago due to my health limitations.Veggies grow real well. No weed seeds like we had from regular gardens.
Deer ,rabbits and woodchucks like the raised beds so much that we actually put up some fencing.On the ground and then on the beds- a tad awkward but it works.

Land may also be available on local small farms and in a community garden type plot.(although dealing with people can be a hassle and distract from the quiet joy of gardening alone)

Capt. Turbo- I do not know much about Ukraine except that if Hunter B was involved there must have been some corruption going on- can you please enlighten me ?
The average person though is not corrupt and they are the ones who are suffering and Putin must be stopped somehow. Arlene
Re: seeds and Ukraine- Ferry Morse is donating all of their profits from sunflower seed sales to Ukraine and Burpee is donating all of their sales from Sunflower seeds to Ukraine.

It’s true Arlene that the people are always the ones to suffer but Ukraine is a cesspool of corruption and the US deep state is deeply involved (headquartered) there. The Biden Crime family’s dealings there tell a lot. There are US funded biolabs all over that country. For a while I was rooting for Putin to kill all the corrupt politicians and wipe out all those biolabs but he has been (apparently) targeting far too many civilian targets so the whole thing stinks but in any case I see no reason for the US to be getting involved there when we won’t even defend our borders here.

In 2020, seeds in the store were as hard to find as toilet paper. Neighbors were sharing. Proof that those seeds you bought will be an important barter item. Since they are heirloom, it’s a renewable resource to boot!
