Terrorism in the United States

In light of the tragic and horrific terrorist attacks in New Orleans and Nevada, I’m going to address these events and provide thoughts into how you can stay prepared and vigilant in an increasingly uncertain world going into 2025. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

The Growing Threat

The recent attacks are a sobering reminder of the vulnerabilities we face. While details of these specific events continue to emerge, it’s evident that the threat of terrorism in the United States is real and evolving. The influx of undocumented and unvetted individuals crossing our southern border exacerbates these concerns. Among all those illegals entering the country, there is no doubt individuals with malicious intent, adding another layer of unpredictability to our national security landscape.

As we look ahead to 2025, the possibilities for future attacks are as diverse as they are alarming. These could include:

  • Vehicle Attacks: As seen in the past, vehicles can become deadly weapons in crowded areas.
  • Mass Shootings: Soft targets such as schools, shopping centers, and public events remain high-risk.
  • Improvised Explosives or Dirty Bombs: The use of low-tech but devastating devices remains a persistent concern.
  • Cyberattacks with Physical Consequences: Hacking critical infrastructure like power grids or water supplies could result in chaos.

There’s limited options for us to prepare for future terrorist events. The chance of finding ourselves near one of these events is extremely rare, but not impossible. With that said, we need to be very aware when we are out and about. We need to be ready to act to unpredictable situations. If higher populated areas can be avoided do so. When entering buildings and establishments look for exits and pre-plan what would need to be done if evac was necessary. Use common sense.

Welcome to 2025

The attacks in New Orleans and Nevada are a grim reminder of the world we live in. It’s easy to get swept up in events such as this and let it take over our minds and lives. Live your life. Do things that make you happy. Bring joy to others.

AND…..be ready.

Take care all –

Rourke
