The Taurus Millennium G2 9mm pistol has become a favorite of budget-minded shooters over the past couple years. Holding 12 rounds of 9mm Parabellum in a semi-compact, lightweight polymer frame and well under $300 – it’s easy to understand why it’s so popular. Although Taurus has what I would refer to as a “mediocre” reputation I’ve heard great things about the G2. After picking one up on sale for $199 I figured I would document its performance through 2,000 rounds.
Complete Disclosure: My idea of the “2,000 Round Test” originated from reading Tamara over at View From The Porch.
So – here’s the data through 360 rounds:
200 rounds Winchester White Box 115-grain FMJ bulk-packed
160 rounds Independence 115-grain Aluminum case
Result: 360 rounds. Zero issues – no malfunction so far.
Did I mention I’m not cleaning the Taurus G2 until it begins to malfunction?
Stay tuned……
Rourke
Bought one at $189 a couple weeks ago. Shot about 500 rounds so far. Took the sons out and turned them loose the first weekend and they shot 350 rounds with no problems. I shot 150 last Friday and still no malfunctions. Shooting white box Remington all the way. Haven’t cleaned it yet! It’s for one of the sons for concealed carry.
– Keep Looking UP
