My turn…..

Testing: Doing some testing this weekend on the Freedom Ordnance FX-9 9mm carbine from Classic Firearms. Fun gun!

Garden: Will complete the addition of 4-5 raised beds in the garden, add soil, and plant some veggies.

Democrats and the MSM: These folks have completely lost their mind. Maxine Watters says 700 billion people will lose health care under the Republican health care bill. Interesting is the fact there are not 700 billion people on the planet.  CNN busted for #fakenews and placing ratings over the truth. The Sheeple will continue to watch and become indoctrinated into the fairytale world of Progressivism.

Movies: I usually go to the movies every few weeks or so but it’s been a few months. Anyone seen anything good lately?

Mmmmmmmm……bacon, crispy (mostly) if you please. Though, having had my first regular job at the Colony Inn in the Amana Colonies, i have had a hankering for the pickled ham that was served there and plan to add it to the table at the gathering on the 4th. It’s a fabulous way to use leftovers since you cube the ham to make. One part water, one part white vinegar mixed to cover the cubed (approximately 3/4″) ham with onion slices mixed in to taste. Refrigerate overnight, serve cold. Mmmmmmm…..pickled bacon? Not so much since it would not be crispy-sad face.

After your mention of the book ” Locker#9,” i got a copy to read. It is very good on many levels. There were a few points that made me really think…still thinking. Especially the situations between individuals that showed how easily people are blindsided by the unexpected/unprepared for aggressive behavior of those with nothing to lose. Makes those of us who “play by the rules” sitting ducks and that in turn makes any preparedness in terms of “stuff” useless unless one is able to shift gears into a different mindset. For those of us unable to be almost ruthless, i am quite concerned. What advice do you all have for us who have never trained in aggression…just simple defense isn’t going to cut it i fear.

Glad to hear you liked Locker 9. I really enjoyed it.

Good question as far as the advice goes. Everyone has to start somewhere. Training can be sought and taken. That saying about safety in numbers is true. If there are those in your “circle of friends” that may be nearby should things go downhill that can be capable for defense that would be an option.

“Maxine Watters says 700 billion people will lose health care under the Republican health care bill.”

    Fake News Alert!!!!
I watched the video to see what stupid crap Maxine Watters said, but she said 700 billion would be eliminated under the Trump bill. She was talking about Medicare funding, and never mention 700 billion people!! Just FYI.

    She’s still an idiot though!!!

Maxine and Sheila Jackson complete low education people supported by people in her district who are like minded.

We just completed our move to Montana and have been busy setting up our supplies after the move. Water, Emergency Food stocks are done.
Currently evaluating backpacks for reduction in weight without reducing supplies.
Training heavily with transition between rifle and handgun (new drill for the spouse and she rocks it good so far).
Gardening, we participate in a large garden with a family member. It is growing and producing!
Enjoy this blog page too! Contact me should you want to add video from the western states.

We’ve been very active this summer. It’s been good. 2nd or 3rd week I’ve been making the kids take on more responsibility,(Chores) on the weekends. This is equally tough for me as it is for them. The patience factor needed and the concerns of them breaking/ruining something in the house.

Still kicking myself in the rear to stay focused to do what David did with his backpacks, but for other things. I keep going off on rabbit trails…grrrr.(i.e. I’m typing on this web page, Squirrel ) Also requested our group to please come to this website and get involved. There is a wealth of knowledge and fellowship here.

If your not, I recommend you get plugged into kickstarter. There are several new things coming out that you can get at a cheap price before they go live. Some are like..meh, other ones are like, hey! For example: Sonnet communication project. There have been other kickstarters like this one were the buy in price was $50 and then the price to get it when it went live went up to $150. The Seek thermal imaging, yep. Started at kickstarter for $100. Here is a link to Sonnet communications Kickstarter.

Hi George – yes I have experience with them. I think they are great. I’ve had one on my Stag Arms AR for the last 3 years. Works fantastic.

    2. Patriot Believer says:

They ARE great. We have two–one 512 and one 552–both on carbines. The only difference with the 552 is it’s compatible with the night scope I mount behind it at night.

They’re fast, very fast out to about 150 meters. If you want to go longer, a scope is a better option with a swing on swing off PVS-30 in front of it.

    3. Patriot Believer says:

      George,

Forgot to point out battery life. I generally hate things that use batteries on weapons if I can avoid it. Besides, who wants to have to stop and turn something on when you need a weapon?

Eotech’s battery life is about 40 days with lithiums. Problem solved. Turn it on and leave it on when carrying the weapon. I haven’t checked it with Panasonic’s new eneloop pro rechargeable batteries (which are great) yet but I suspect they’ll go a month or better.

      1. 3rdMan says:

AimPoint Pro’s battery life is 30,000 hours on setting 7. That’s a little more than 40 days. 1250 days to be exact!!!!

        1. JR says:

Yup – going to have to sell my EOTech now. Once word of the Aimpoint’s battery life gets out EOTech is going out of business. 😉

          1. 3rdMan says:

The newer EOTechs will shut off after a certain amount of time to extend the battery life thought. I own two AimPoint PROs and love them. I would like to purchase a AimPoint Micro though. They also hold their zero even if dropped, so that’s an added plus.
