Reminder: Our Homesteading Website TheMainePrepper.com Is On The Way

Just a quick reminder that June 24th will be the official launch of our new website focused on homesteading and sharing much of what we do on our little piece of paradise. Please go over to TheMainePrepper.com and sign up to receive updates.

This new site will allow us to dive deeper into the practical, hands-on aspects of homesteading. The site is still being developed, so please be patient if you look around and see things that may be a bit messed up. From gardening and preserving food to raising animals and DIY projects, we’ll share it all. You’ll see the ups and downs, the lessons learned, and maybe even some moments of comic relief as we navigate this journey.

The Maine Prepper, homestead, homesteading, homesteader, prepper, farm, diy,

We’re incredibly excited about this new chapter and the opportunity to share it with you. But we can’t do it alone. In today’s modern, fast-paced world, getting the word out can be challenging. That’s where you come in! If you believe in what we’re doing and want to support this vision, we’d greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word. Share our posts, talk about the new site with your friends, and engage with us on social media—every bit of support makes a difference.

Stay tuned for more details and official launch announcements. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to take you along on this journey. If you head over to TheMainePrepper.com, you can sign up with your email address to receive updates and notifications.

Here’s to building a life of resilience and purpose together. Thank you for being a part of our community. Your encouragement and support mean the world to us.

  • Exciting Changes Are Coming to the Site!

Exciting Changes Are Coming to the Site!

Over the next couple of months, we’ll be rolling out some important updates to improve your experience on the site. One of the biggest changes is a fresh new look! We’re moving to a new theme—basically, that’s the layout and design that controls how the site looks and feels, from the way content is displayed to how easy it is to navigate on your phone or computer. Our goal is to make the site faster, cleaner, and easier to use so you can find what you need, when you need it. Please have patience as changes take place.

    But that’s not all.

We’re also doubling down on content that matters most right now. The world is shifting fast, and staying informed is key to staying prepared. You can expect more updates on current events, including our own analysis of what’s happening and how it might affect you and your family. We’ll break down complex issues and show you what it means from a preparedness perspective—without the hype, just the facts and practical takeaways.

Finally, we know budgets are tight for a lot of people. That’s why we’re putting more focus on real-world, budget-friendly preparedness strategies. From food storage to home security to everyday carry gear, we’ll show you how to build resilience without breaking the bank.

Thank you for being part of this growing community. Your support, feedback, and shared knowledge have made this one of the most trusted places for preparedness-minded folks, and we’re just getting started.

    Take care all –

Member-Only Content In The Process of Being Moved For Access By All

I’m currently in the process of moving all member-only content into the public section so that everyone can access it freely. No sign-ups, no logins—just open access to the information that could help you and your family be better prepared for whatever comes our way.

This project is a big one, and it’s going to take a little time, but I expect to have everything moved and organized within the next few weeks.

As I go, I’ll be posting some updates to keep you in the loop and highlight new resources as they become available. Keep an eye out—you might find something you didn’t even know you needed.

Thank you all for your continued support, and I hope this change makes it even easier for you to access the tools and knowledge to live a more self-reliant, resilient life.

    Stay safe and prepared,

  • Important Update: Member Area Changes at 1776PatriotUSA.com

Important Update: Member Area Changes at 1776PatriotUSA.com

    Patriots,

For the past few years, our membership program has provided exclusive access to premium content focused on survival, preparedness, off-grid living, and self-reliance. I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who supported 1776PatriotUSA.com by becoming a member. Your support has helped keep this mission going, and I’m truly grateful.

Due to rising costs associated with the software that runs the membership section, I’ve made the tough decision to discontinue the membership program on or about April 20th.

But this isn’t the end—far from it. 👍

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be unlocking all of our member-only content and making it available to everyone. This includes a massive download library filled with PDFs, guides, and resources covering everything from emergency preparedness and off-grid living to medical info, food storage, homesteading, and much more.

If you’ve ever wanted access to our full archive, now’s the time. 🎯

And for those of you who want to continue supporting this work and mission, thank you. I’ve set up a simple donation/monthly donation where you can “Buy Me a Cup of Coffee” each month. It’s a small gesture that goes a long way in helping keep the lights on and the content flowing.

More details and a full list of newly released resources will be posted soon. Stay tuned, and thank you again for standing with 1776PatriotUSA.com.

    Take care all –

    Quick Site Update – Comments

Just a quick note regarding “commenting” here on the site. We started experiencing a ton of SPAM making it through the comment moderation tool that I’ve used for years. Due to this I’ve had to manually delete this SPAM. I just installed a new tool and really not sure how well it will work or if it will be problematic for regular commentors. If it doesn’t work I’ll move on to another.

    We shall see.

Just wanted to pass this on incase you experience something strange. If you have any issues email me at: 1776PatriotUSA [at] gmail [dot] com.

Have a good weekend all –

Looking for a few book reviewers….. FREE BOOKS!!!

Hello all! I recently published a few books on Amazon and looking for some folks to purchase and leave reviews(hopefully positive!). I’d like to offer free copies to those who may be interested.

What I would like to do is have anyone who would like to pick one simply leave a comment on which one they would like. I can send you a digital Amazon gift card via email for the price of the book. You buy the book, check it out after it arrives – and leave a review. I can only fund so many so let’s start with the first 10 people, however, if I can do more I will.

The preparedness books are all notebooks/journals which include blank template pages for brainstorming, organizing thoughts, recording information, and even spaces for listing inventory. The workout book has 90 workouts worth of log pages as well as a great section on workout routines, nutrition, supplements, etc.

One of the keys to getting noticed on Amazon is to get some sales and reviews. Hope some of you can help!

Follow the links below to check them out and comment below if interested in a free book. I’ll reach out to you so I can get you the Amazon gift card for the book.

    Site Updates

Just want to make everyone aware I’ll be moving a few things around and updating a variety of links, graphics, etc. No need to be concerned if something suddenly looks completely different. I’m on it.

  • The Future of 1776PatriotUSA.com

    The Future of 1776PatriotUSA.com

As we traverse some of the most volatile and dangerous times in modern history – the traffic for this specific survival and preparedness website has fallen to a few visits per day. Thank you for stopping by!! The reasons for the traffic dropoff are many with the most obvious being I simply do not put out content that people are interested in. That’s certainly a possibility. Other potential reasons include Google’s shadowbanning and the like, suppressing the type of content I put out due to their own agenda priorities. Yup – that is possible. It’s also possible that the technology used within this website structure and “build” creates issues for those wishing to access it. Many people use mobile devices to browse the web and this site may not be very “friendly” to the algorithms that decide where to rank it for those trying to find information on survival/preparedness.

So – what’s next? The main purpose I have a web presence and put forth the effort is to reach like-minded folks. I truly enjoy it. If – and it’s a big IF the structure of the website and/or the site itself is being blacklisted I could possibly change some things in the backend to alleviate or improve the situation. Basically – a major overhaul.

homesteading, getting back to sim ple life, simple life, shtf, prepper, preparedness

Another option is to change and adapt to trends within the preparedness genre. While preparedness has grown in popularity how people view preparedness has changed. Rather than seeking content on “survival” and “preparedness” folks are often going in the direction of “homesteading.”

Another distinct reality is that this form of media is just not as popular as it once was. Video and multimedia has taken over and blogs are going the way of the simple book. Sad – but true.

You tell me. What interests you? What do you want? What changes would you like to see?

I’d appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment and give me your thoughts.

    Take care all –

Putting this back out there again for those who may have missed it and a reminder for everyone else. Back in 2010, I started my first survival and preparedness blog with the goal of connecting with others that were like-minded. Over the years I’ve developed some lifelong relationships with people I’ve connected with and hope that continues. Shortly before the last Presidential election, I was targeted by several social media companies and accounts were deleted with no warnings or explanations. For several months I was bitter and determined not to start any new accounts. I came around to different thinking in that I would use these platforms to my and others’ benefit by continuing to spread my beliefs and share the information I know to be vital to our future.

In other words, I decided not to give up.

I’ve created a “link tree” which I maintain as a one-stop shop for people to go to find out what’s going on with me, what I’m up to, and get access to more information.

From the Desk of John Rourke: August 18th, 2023

Hello folks 👋  Life has been extremely busy and a few things I thought I’d pass on. Do me a favor – – – – > Comment below and share any exciting news you may have or if you’ve had any significant events happen recently(if you feel comfortable doing so). Any big preps you’ve completed? We’d love to hear it!

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

First off, I have found a new job!! I’m very excited to take over a small manufacturing facility along the coast of Maine. This company was recently purchased by an investment group and they are looking to expand the business and increase sales. A significant raise for me(which I need) and it’s going to be a much better fit than my current employer. Tomorrow is my last day and I start my new job on the 28th. Yup – I’m taking a week off to do some work around the property. More on that below…….. 👇

If anyone is looking for the ever-popular Mora knife they can be had for $11.99. Great price!! I have several. One of the best deals around…..

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

I’m overdue to provide an update on our efforts around the property. I’ll do a separate post and/or video on that. One thing I’m really happy about is the 6 blueberry plants we put in. I took a lot of time to make sure they were planted right so they would have an easy time getting established. They’ve actually grown a lot over the past couple of months and produced so many juicy blueberries.

    Here are a few pictures:

Several weeks ago I traveled down to South Carolina to see my kids. It’s been a few months since I had seen them. I gave one of my recent AR builds to my youngest. He was thrilled!! The two of us and a buddy of his went to a range and did quite a bit of shootingk💥.  Good times!

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

chainsaw, homestead, retreat, survival, prepper, preparedness, Black Max, homesteading, clearing trees, property,

Shortly after moving into the cabin I bought a chainsaw. Living where I live a chainsaw is a standard tool to have on hand. Earlier in the spring when the snow thawed we discovered the driveway was nothing more than, well, dirt. We need to have a real driveway put in and this should be happening in about a month. In order for the trucks to come down the driveway as well as dump their loads we are having to clear any limbs and branches 20 feet above the driveway.

    Enter: The chainsaw.

Between my future brother-in-law and myself we have it 99% complete. I have quite a bt of smaller branches we will chip into mulch and some larger limbs I’ll be cutting up for use in the wood stove and firepit(Solo Stove firepit)🔥

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Over the past couple of years, I’ve grown to believe that we have been lied to about almost everything that we have held and believed to be the truth. Whether it’s much of the history we’ve been taught or how the United States has been the savior of the world it appears that deception at a minimum has been used. So many things I  scoffed at as conspiracy I now believe to be truth(or at least likely the truth). The Great Reset is real. The New World Order is real. Give them whatever name you wish – but organizations of the rich, powerful, and influential largely control the direction the world heads.

If the news media and government say it’s true – I would likely say it’s not.

    ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

    Have a great weekend all!

  • UPDATE: Move to Kentucky is Complete

UPDATE: Move to Kentucky is Complete

Our move to Kentucky from South Carolina is officially complete. Over the past 6-8 weeks a lot has happened and it’s not nearly over. I’ve been swamped as we prepped for the move, transferred the camper to Kentucky, then moved my cargo trailer as well.

Camper during the trip from South Carolina to Kentucky.

    Camper in-place on the river.

Fellow Patriot Brigade member “Doomsday” moved the camper for me as my truck did not have the towing capacity. Back when we purchased the camper plans were to move up to a bigger truck – but I’m sure you know what happened to the truck market. Nope – couldn’t pull that trigger and add to my debt. Thanks Doomsday!!!!!!

After arriving in northern Kentucky and putting the camper in place, a giant storm came through that night. The camper rocked as the rain went sideways and I have to admit I was more than a little concerned. All was good.No leaks and no damage. Wow! It was something else.

After getting the camper in place a return to South Carolina was needed as I needed to complete another 6 weeks at my job. MainPrepperGirl had headed to Kentucky about a week before me to start job hunting. As a nurse with a fantastic resume it should not take long for her to find something. My replacement was hired, I worked on some training fro him – and just a few days ago I hooked up my 7′ x 16′ cargo trailer and headed to Kentucky.

About a week prior to heading out to Kentucky I installed a set of Timbren’s to reduce the squat of my truck under load. I own a 2019 Ram 1500 Cloasic Warlock – which I love. It has a great ride, however, the rear suspension is very soft. The Timbrens worked great.

The cargo trailer was loaded at near capacity. It road great with the Curt Sway Bar installed. First few hours of the trip had my nerves fried due to a lot of construction, traffic, and narrow lanes.

A couple days ago I arrived after a 10-hour drive. It felt so good to finally be there, although, I’ve had some apprehension as my two boys are still back in South Carolina. Although they are grown with one of them a father and the other is engaged – they are still my two little boys.

Storm Coming Through At Ohio River in Kentucky
We are still getting settled and I start my new job Monday. Same company – a lot larger facility. I will walk into the facility and proclaim – “I came here to chew bubblegum and kick some ass……and I’m all out of bubblegum.” Ok – maybe I won’t exactly do that but you get the point.

I’m looking forward to doing some fishing right out in my backyard and we’ll be exploring the entire area to seek out adventure and increase our quality of life. Hiking. Biking. Exploring. There’s a gym nearby and we’ve been going there each morning. We are prioritizing health and fitness to a new level.

I need to find a shooting range.

Over the next several months we are going to be looking to buy a house. Interest rates are heading up and hopefully, prices will start dropping. While we are largely mobile and I’ll be documenting our contingency planning in the Patriot Brigade membership area. We hope to find a place that is out in the country and with few neighbors. 5 acres or more would be good. We’ll see.

Stay safe folks. It’s getting crazy!

I apologize for not posting more frequently lately. We are in the process of moving to Kentucky due to my job. While it is a great opportunity it’s also pretty stressful. It’s a step in the direction we wish to go. Living at our retreat is within our grasp and hopefully, within the next few months, we will no longer be living full-time in a camper and be on acreage.

Northern Kentucky is a means to an end – or a new beginning depending on how you look at it. A few years of sacrifice to be able to then move on to what is truly the end game. In the meantime, we’ll be in a better place, especially with all the craziness in the world.

In another week or so the move will be complete. Traveling back and forth to South Carolina will occur for several weeks before our final move takes place. Looking forward to new challenges.

I’ll get back to posting on the regular soon. Until then – take care and stay safe.

  • Membership Update

    Membership Update

First off – for all those who have joined the Patriot Brigade – thank you so much! Cost is approx .16 cents per day and less with an annual membership.

    A few updates and reminders:

    • Members will see member-only articles and posts on the front page of the website when they are logged in. You can identify these posts as they will say “Private” next to the titles. I am also going to list all member-only posts on the Main Membership Page later today.

    Example:

    • A major update has been added to the member-only download area. We now have over 250 gigabytes of books, manuals, guides, videos, movies, audiobooks, etc.  250 gigabytes is a massive amount of information that took not hours but days to search for and collect. I have zero doubt there are some duplicate files as that comes with the territory. If you are looking to build a digital preparedness library this is the place to go.
    • Several new TV shows and movies have been uploaded to the member area.
    • As mentioned – several member-only posts and articles have been published.

    More to come!!

As always if anyone has any issues with their membership – let me know. Email 1776PatriotUSA (at) gmail.com.

If interested in joining – follow this link.
