As i read your list i start to feel rather inadequate and not quite on the same page…only a few items were familiar and comon to my world. Oh well, i will carry on, hopeful of learning more, understanding more.
It does occur to me that my dear Mama has been schooling me my whole life on EDC…of sorts. In her handbag, she always had most anything one could need while away from home AND the weight of her purse would have qualified it as a lethal weapon if she had ever needed to take a swing at a threatening opponent. She surprised my kids more than once, pulling a needed item out of her bag of tricks to save the day. A lady’s purse is often a goldmine of unexpected treasure! As a teenager, i started the practice of carrying MY first EDC when traveling to Europe 45 years ago, it just wasn’t called by that name then. The bag i carefully chose and thoughtfully packed started me on the lifelong habit of being prepared when away from home…i still have and use the 12x12x8″ leather bag. It has been dyed a color that suits me more now, as well as had it’s zipper replaced after wearing out from much use. It masqueraded as a travel bag, purse and diaper bag so many years that it is a favorite companion i choose over the new and cheaply made bags found in many stores nowadays. Hmmmm…..who knew!?!
Well Rourke, 1776Patriots is moving up in the ranks over at TOP PREPPER SITES 🙂 in a couple dozen more votes, you will find yourself nipping at the heels of your old site MSO. Must feel GREAT to have accomplished this…two years have flown by. But then they always do, Congratulations….
