Trail mix is one of my favorite foods to take hiking, mountain biking, and camping. The typical combination of unique flavors providing needed protein is very satisfying especially when some physical exertion is taking place. Trail mix is usually a combination of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, grains, and sweets. There’s a gazillion recipes out there for trail mix. This is just one example.
Here we go…..
Ingredients
- 2 pounds dry roasted peanuts
- 2 pounds almonds
- 1 pound raisins
- 1 pound M&M’s(peanut or plain)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix.
- Portion up into Ziploc bags
So easy a caveman could do it.
As stated this is a great food item to take along while hiking or backpacking. Some people include Chex mix, pretzels, cashews, granola, etc. Really up to your personal tastes.
