Quick Movie Review: Dog Soldiers

One of my all-time favorite movies, Dog Soldiers has developed into one of those “cult classics” that have people watching over and over and over again. Well beyond the typical werewolf genre B-movies – Dog Soldiers approaches the werewolf concept with a new and fresh perspective.

Here’s a brief summary:

During a routine nighttime training mission in the Scottish Highlands, a small squad of British soldiers expected to rendezvous with a special ops unit instead find a bloody massacre with a sole survivor. The savage attackers of the special ops team return and the men are rescued by Megan (Emma Cleasby), a zoologist who identifies what hunts them as werewolves. Without transport or communications, the group is forced to retreat to a farmhouse to wait for the full moon to disappear at dawn.

Let me set the stage for you……

You’re sitting in the dark, the glow of the TV radiates through the room as your bowl of popcorn entices your tastebuds. Dog Soldiers is playing through your Blu-Ray and you place yourself in the Scottish Highlands as the hills come alive with nocturnal vicious evil and you wonder just how you’ll survive.

Get the popcorn!!!

For several years Dog Soldiers was not available in the United States on DVD or Blu-Ray. It is now and can be purchased HERE. It’s also available as part of the benefits in the membership area.
