I hope everyone has a very safe and happy Thanksgiving.
Plans for the day include an attempt to roast a small turkey in the oven at our camper. This is going to be interesting. Cooking in a propane oven is definitely different. I suspect the bottom of the turkey will be a charcoal briquette while the top is raw….LOL. We shall see!
Take care all –
Rourke
Oh – interested in hearing about the first Thanksgiving? Here is an old podcast where Jason Ackers discusses his thoughts on what the first Thanksgiving was probably like. I post this pretty much every year.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from GA.
put a pizza stone in the oven below the rack but above the burner, helps distribute the heat so you don’t get the hot spots.
Rourke- I hope your turkey is delicious !! Happy Thanksgiving everyone !
May we all reflect on the blessings of the day- no matter what our
current struggles and challenges are : gratitude is a healing balm.
God bless our Native American friends who helped the pilgrims survive…. Hugs and orayers to you all- Arlene
just a suggestion that i did to make my oven in my camper more even… buy 9 heat safe square glazed kitchen tiles and line the bottom of the oven… it makes the oven cook more evenly… Happy Thanksgiving !!!!
