From the Desk of John Rourke – May 22nd, 2017

The last several days has been extremely busy. I am still recovering. Attended an out of town, multi-day training meeting that involved early mornings and late nights. Overall very informative and a positive experience. Put me behind quite a bit working on the website and other stuff at home.

Well – this business trip did have its perks…..

Was supposed to attend a pistol training class this past Saturday(after my work training was finished). Unfortunately, the instructor had an emergency and the class was canceled. A high school buddy of mine had already driven over 2 hours the night before so I met up with him and we did a little training ourselves. He is a beginner and purchased a Glock 17 last year.

It was a great few hours of shooting. He was very safe and I never had to say anything to him about pointing down range, finger off the trigger, etc.

I did see numerous examples of limp wristing. I’ve never seen that before only heard about the possibility in magazines and internet forums. I had him doing some drills drawing and shooting from the hip at very close range. Several times the slide failed to go back far enough to eject. Once he brought the pistol up and shot with both hands no issues. Just not holding it tight enough.

My buddy did well.

A growing number of House Republicans are facing physical threats from angry constituents in their districts, leading many to fear for their safety.

In the last few weeks alone, the FBI arrested a man threatening Rep. Martha McSally’s (R-Ariz.) life, a woman pursued Rep. David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) in her car, and Rep. Tom Garrett (R-Va.) heightened security at a town hall event in response to death threats.

Other Republicans still holding town halls say they haven’t felt physically threatened by protesters, but they worry about the depth of anger from some constituents in the polarized environment and what it means for political civility.

These town hall meetings are really getting out of hand lately! Our country is really getting to the point of no return to the old days of respect for ones thought’s or beliefs. Not a good sign.

Okay, you asked so I’m letting you know. The word I believe you intended to use in American Reformation is secession as opposed to succession. I VERY much appreciate what you do. Thanks for the info and especially thanks for being willing to put yourself out there. I get a tremendous amount of emails that I automatically delete, never yours. Please keep up the good work.

Looking at the founders and editors of the “The Hill”.. they don’t appear to be conservative. Nowhere in the article does it mention the parties of the offending constituents. The article appears to be sowing seeds that the republicans might be unhappy and threatening their own leaders. Maybe .. but they have Democratic constituents as well. My guess is that the town halls are being disrupted and threats made by liberals.. Maybe a never Trump person, but doubtful. I’d call it a very biased article (like there is anything else anymore), as best. At worst it is deliberately misleading. They better be very careful violating personal space. And hands on is an assault charge. Vandalism etc etc.. this is just ANTIFA crap again. Do they have jobs ? how can the afford to be professional protestors.. check where their money comes from. That isn’t mentioned either.

I thought the other article was pretty good… If you are growing it for later .. I’d add a some more details about the characters and other elements. It’s a good sketch to begin with though.

3rdMan – He did fine. That was his very first time EVER moving and shooting. He got better and I got with him on his hand position on the left side. You have a good eye.

Good deal!! Sounds like you’re teaching him good fundamentals. As far as the “good eye”, I’m LEO firearms instructor as well. Sometime the hardest thing for an instructor to do, is to watch the student and not the target he’s shooting at.
