Panic Buying Prior to the Election

It is telling that so many people – mostly non-preppers – are stocking up before Tuesday. There are news reports of militia and “patriot groups” that are standing by ready to act should Trump lose. I think that is a bit alarmist, however, should there be significant evidence of voter fraud activity should be expected. Regardless of the outcome of the election, many have shown that it takes little to riot, loot, steal, and commit acts of violence. Those stocking up have watched what has happened in 2020.

News is reporting massive increases in COVID cases as well. Europe is experiencing its own influx of cases and many areas are beginning to shut down their economies again.

Uncertainty promotes anxiety and in some cases panic. If you’re reading this you are likely squared away, at least for whatever may occur as a result of the election.

Are you seeing empty shelves in your area? In some of the forums I visit I’m seeing reports of supplies out of stock both in the store and online. Ammunition continues to be in very short supply. Reloading supplies also hard to find.

The election is a few days away. While the election and the results of it are concerning – the true events to plan for is likely at least a couple of years away. Prep. Prep some more. Food, water, defense, medical, knowledge – make it happen.

    Make it happen.

  • The New Normal: Riots and Looting in Philadelphia After Police Shoot Armed Black Man

The New Normal: Riots and Looting in Philadelphia After Police Shoot Armed Black Man

Unfortunately, the headlines are far too common – “Rioting after police shoot black man.” Whether the black man is armed with a knife, a gun, or reaches for what could be a knife or a gun doesn’t matter. Low-life thugs and other losers who are likely the result of modern chemistry will use anything as an excuse to engage in chaos.

In Philadelphia parts of the city are being destroyed after police shoot and kill an armed(knife) black man. For me, I could care less about what color the cops are or the person shot. I’m stating the race simply because it is a significant factor within the story.

Numerous police have been attacked and injured as a result of the violent response.

What used to be bad, is now good. What used to be good, is now bad. We are heading for a dark winter and this tension, this outrage will feed directly into the election next week.

Stay vigilant – head on a swivel with superior awareness. Keep preparing and making plans to deal with a rise in civil unrest and wider spreading domestic conflict.

UPDATE: John Rourke, Social Media, Facebook Deleted

Many of you may know that my Facebook account was recently deleted. I was not suspended. I was removed from the platform. I have since created several new accounts and taken back control of the 1776PatriotUSA.com Facebook Group. I had other admins on that page to protect it from being lost. Now, Facebook may decide at any time to delete the entire group.

Here is my new Facebook profile. Feel free to send me a friend request.

I’m exploring multiple platforms and I’m already on several. You may ask, “Screw social media! Why even bother?” Well, the first reason is many of you have found this website through Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest – or some other social media platform. I need to reach like-minded folks and social media is simply the most effective means. Just giving up is not an option and one which I will refuse.

I will start providing updates on where I’m at with different platforms. If you have any suggestions let’s hear ’em.

I’ll also mention that a few years ago I created a “Telegram” group. I discussed Telegram some time ago HERE. Currently, in this private group we have a select number of people. We chat about current events, preparedness, life – and food….LOL. If you are interested in being included send me an email at emergencycd (at) gmail (dot) com.

STATUS REPORT: Election Less Than Two Weeks Away, 2021 Within Sight

Every week we provide insight on events as they develop and transpire across America. In these unprecedented times, it’s difficult to grasp the complexity of everything that’s going on. We are not a news agency and make no claims to be experts on the topics discussed. What is absolutely certain is we are investing time to research information with a quest for truth using facts, logic, and some common sense thrown in.

    COVID-19

The spreading of COVID-19 continues with the number of cases and deaths worldwide increasing daily.

Here are the numbers as of October 23rd, 2020:

    Global Confirmed Cases: 41,798,042

    Global Deaths: 1,138,696

    Global Recoveries: 28,392,918

    US Confirmed Cases: 8,411,262

    US Deaths: 223,059

    US Recoveries: 3,353,056

    US Active Cases: 4,835,147

Commentary: Looking at the number of COVID deaths on a daily basis the trend has turned upward slightly since the beginning of October. The trend had been consistently lowering week after week since the end of August.

    ECONOMY

The Coronavirus pandemic continues to be directly affecting the economy. Many businesses across the nation have closed….and many are still closed. Reopening is happening at different levels and even seen some movie theaters are starting to reopen. Businesses of all sizes including manufacturing plants down to small mom & pop shops feel the effect. Some industries have seen a spike in business, while others have been decimated. Limits on the number of people allowed in businesses continue to be widespread, and mandated masks are common.  Government-mandated practice varies depending on the state and area. Florida has ended all restrictions while other states are still locked down.

CommentaryThe economy continues to rebound even with continued struggles in numerous markets. The country wants to be back to normal. Trillions of dollars from the Federal government has been injected into the economy and no doubt has had a positive effect.

    POLITICS

Much of the divide that is present in the nation is directly correlated to the divisive political environment currently in existence. Beyond healthy debate or even normal agenda-driven bias, the level of aggressive and purposely damaging action taken by Progressive politicians and groups is at an all-time high.

    • A huge story was published by the New York Post regarding Joe Biden’s son – Hunter Biden. It appears that there is significant evidence that Joe Biden was – at a minimum – caught lying regarding his knowledge of Hunter’s business in Ukraine and China. It appears Hunter was paid to try to influence and gain access to his father representing a private business. Illegal? Likely not but certainly corrupt.
    • Nancy Pelosi continues to NOT work with the White House nor Congress on a new COVID relief package.
    • The 2nd debate between Trump and Biden occurred this past Thursday night. The consensus is President Trump had an excellent debate and Biden struggled. One major story out of the debate is Biden stating his plan to is eliminate the oil industry. States who have major oil reserves as well as coal should take note.

Commentary:   As usual, Democrats and Republicans remain on opposite ends of the opinion spectrum to best serve this country….and pretty much everything else. The hypocrisy of the Left continues to be seen everywhere.

The admission from Biden that he plans to eliminate the oil industry is major. His son’s involvement with China, Ukraine, and released pictures and video of him supposedly with an underaged female could make a difference in this election. The FBI is getting ready to interview a former associate of Hunter Biden related to foreign influence on Joe Biden.

Social media continues to censor free speech primarily from Conservatives. My own Facebook account was deleted – no warnings, no explanation.

Everyone is wanting 2020 over in hopes that 2021 will be better. We can all have hope. If the trend from the last few years continues……

Conservatives and Prepper’s Kicked Off Facebook

I’ve been kicked off Facebook. Several other prepper’s I know have also had their accounts deleted in just the last week. Jim Cobb – author and publisher – was deleted. Pete Orndoff, who had several large preparedness Facebook groups – gone. Prepper Ralph – a close friend – gone. American Patriot Mike Glover has been targeted on social media as he promotes freedom and liberty.

I made this video. If you are offended by profanity – don’t watch it.

I will ramp up my presence on other social media platforms and continue expanding my presence on Patreon. Have no doubt – those who love this country, the Constitution, and value our Rights are being targeted.

    Don’t underestimate the opposition.

  • Assault on the 1st Amendment – Patreon/YouTube/FB/Twitter Update

Assault on the 1st Amendment – Patreon/YouTube/FB/Twitter Update

With Facebook and Twitter censoring those trying to share a NY Post story revolving around Hunter Biden and his father’s corrupt activity with a Chinese energy firm – it has never been more clear that free speech is under attack. This is nothing new, however, the assault on our 1st amendment rights is ramping up.

I announced several weeks ago that I was launching a Patreon page. It was a major decision for me as I’ve been very sensitive about overly commercializing the content I provide. Currently, I only have one tier on Patreon and it is a whopping $1.00 per month. I appreciate those who have come over and joined and invite everyone to check it out. If you find it’s not worth it simply cancel. A second tier will be coming in November with added benefits.

It will be of no surprise that across social media those who promote Patriotism and Conservative opinions are being silenced. Several years ago I was demonetized on Youtube. Those who show firearms as part of their content are often targeted. I ended up stopping my efforts and concentrated more on my website. I’ve since started my Youtube channel back up in an effort to reach more like-minded people.

It’s simply a fact that today in order to have any kind of online business where you’re trying to reach as many people as possible platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter are a necessity. There is a need for platforms that allow for freedom of expression and provide an ability for those suppressed on one platform to connect with others on another. So far options are slim and fairly ineffective. Patreon is one platform I’ve joined and so far I like it.

As preppers, 2nd Amendment supporters, and believers in the Constitution we need to stick together. Networking, sharing ideas, and knowledge are important. Having outlets to share “sensitive” content that might be considered radical by some is required. While no platform may be perfect – platforms such as Patreon and MeWe need to be joined and promoted if we are to fight against censorship.

I am continuing to expand my presence on Patreon. Putting content behind a “paywall” has benefits not only for myself but for those who join as well. I have been publishing member-only benefits such as special downloads(books, guides, and even full-length digital movies). I record audio messages and video’s more members as well. I am providing more insight into my private life than I do on a publicly accessed platform such as this website. Soon I will be sharing many more details about my life as well. Having a paywall – even as low as $1.00 – does keep out some rift raft including hackers, and simple troublemakers.

I’ll continue to add content and connect with others on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. as long as I am able. I will also continue my efforts on Patreon and explore other potential platforms where freedom of speech is accepted – and expected.

See the sneak peek video below for some insight into my Patreon account.

    Take care all.

    US Deaths: 212,840

    US Recoveries: 3,021,252

    US Active Cases: 4,375,413

CommentarySince the week of August 1st, 2020 – the number of COVID-related deaths has decreased each and every week in the United States.

The media and many in politics continue to use COVID as a means to further an agenda. I have yet to hear any mainstream media outlet portray accurate facts regarding the consistent decrease in weekly deaths. No – they would rather broadcast certain states or areas where increases have occurred which sends a message things are not improving.

Look at the statistics. The vast majority of all deaths fall within a very limited age range and with those that are already very ill. These people can and should be protected, however, the rest of the country should not continue to be constrained which is causing continued damage to the populace in numerous ways which we will feel for years to come.

With the rise of cases, limits on the number of people allowed in the business, and mandated masks  – many businesses are just trying to stay afloat.

    • Regal has announced the closings of all movie theaters. They are the second-largest movie theater chain in the United States.
    • The unemployment rate dropped to 7.9% for September.
    • Food prices are continuing to inch upwards as inflation takes hold.
    • The stock market continues to do well since the aftermath of deep drops due to COVID.
    • Fuel prices remain low as oil supply is high and demand is steady on the low side.
    • With an already record deficit in 2020, Trump and Congress continue to discuss the possibility of adding trillions more to the National Debt with a COVID relief package.

CommentaryThe economy continues to rebound even with continued struggles in numerous markets. The country wants to be back to normal.

My hope is that Congress will NOT provide another dose of stimulus for people. It’s a political ploy to buy votes.

    POLITICS

Much of the divide that is present in the nation is directly correlated to the divisive political environment currently in existence. Beyond healthy debate or even normal agenda-driven bias, the level of aggressive and purposely damaging action taken by Progressive politicians and groups is at an all-time high.

    • Just days after President Trump was “reported” to refuse to devow white supremacy during his debate with Biden, a white supremacist militia group has been arrested for plotting to kidnap the governor of Michigan.
    • Nancy Pelosi is promoting the 25th Amendment as a means to replace the President.

Commentary:   As usual, Democrats and Republicans remain on opposite ends of the opinion spectrum to best serve this country….and pretty much everything else. The hypocrisy of the Left continues to be seen everywhere. Pelosi doing what she says others cannot is just the latest example.

With Pelosi looking into the 25th Amendment it is apparent that she continues to explore any ad all means to remove Trump from office – especially if he wins in November.

After Trump was released from the hospital he made a few comments regarding COVID. In typical Trump fashion, he put a positive spin on the negative – leading the nation forward. The Left and MSM completely lost their mind.

  • [PART 2]Preparing for the Fallout of November 3rd: SCENARIO’S

[PART 2]Preparing for the Fallout of November 3rd: SCENARIO’S

2020 continues to travel through time like a freight train carrying zombie smurfs being attacked by vampire Antifa dweebs. No one could have predicted the series of events that have transpired and trying to predict what else will occur is almost an impossibility. In Part 1 we reviewed the current situation and how we arrived here. Here in Part 2, we will consider the most likely scenarios to play out after November 3rd – and what possible actions we should take as a result.

    Potential Scenario’s Surrounding November 3rd:

    • Trump Wins, Biden Refuses to Accept Results – courts
    • Biden Wins, Trump Refuses to Accept Results – courts
    • Trump Wins
    • Biden Wins

Let’s get straight to it: One of the main concerns with the upcoming election is the possibility of protests leading to rioting and violence. The same violence we have seen in many cities across the nation this year could ramp up depending on the results – or lack thereof – from November 3rd.

Evidence suggests that we will not know who wins the election for possibility weeks afterward. The media will report on exit polls with theories on who the likely winner will be. “Experts” will provide their opinion as to what they believe will happen. It’s also highly likely theories surrounding vote tampering will be presented. While evidence will be presented the mainstream media and pundits will discount the severity of the fraud.

Court cases will be filed on both sides.

If there is a delay in knowing the outcomes, what might happen?

It is highly likely that protests – mostly peaceful – will occur. These protests will be organized and attended mostly by Biden supporters. If evidence begins mounting that Trump will likely be named the winner the protests may intensify, and even become violent. Blocking highways and public roads crying out for justice and the need to get the “orange man” out of the White House will be the theme. Trump Derangement Syndrome will be in full swing.

If Biden looks to be named the winner – as much as I hate to say it – history shows not a lot will happen. Hey – I could be wrong. Other than outrage on social media by Trump supporters there is not likely to be an uprising. If there is true evidence of massive voter fraud that could change things dramatically.

    What should you do now?

    First off – VOTE!

Second – if you live in or very near a big city you should be concerned about possible protesting and riots. Much like what has been happening as a result of plea’s for social justice and anti-police BS, be prepared for up to and including looting and violence.

It may not be a bad idea to take a couple of days off after the election, especially if you are in a high-risk area. Topping off your vehicles to minimize stops if travel to and from work requires going through population-dense areas. Researching alternate routes are recommended as well.

Third – and likely the most relevant(but not necessarily possible) – is that Biden actually wins. The threat on our 2nd amendment rights is no secret as both Biden and Harris have flatly stated they plan to ban “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines.

    Directly from JoeBiden.com:

    • Hold gun manufacturers accountable for how their guns are used.
    • Bans on assault weapons and high capacity magazines.
    • Ban the importation of certain assault weapons via Executive Action.
    • National gun registry.
    • National gun and magazine buyback program.
    • Limits on the number of firearms that can be purchased by citizens.
    • Universal background checks on ALL gun sales including private.
    • NO online sales of firearms, ammunition, accessories, or parts.
    • Pushing for States to require gun licenses in order to buy any firearm.
    • Require that manufacturers produce guns that are “smart” and can only be operated by the owner.

    Insanity.

There will be outrage no matter who wins the election, and how it is won. If election fraud is obvious and evidence is at hand – that could be a game-changer to the future of our country. That may be the straw that breaks the camels back. That may be what causes freedom-loving Patriots to rise up.

If you are in a position where you need firearms or magazines – now is the time to try to stock up. In these volatile times, prices are elevated and supplies are short. A tough situation.

    Hope.

Hey – there is reason to have hope. I truly believe that Trump should win in a landslide. Look – there have been Trump boat parades with THOUSANDS of boats in them. There have been Trump car parades with thousands of cars lined up in support of the President. Tens of thousands show up to Trump’s rallies. I believe the only way he will lose is by voter fraud. If that happens – all bets are off.

    US Active Cases: 4,210,643

Commentary:  The 7 day moving average of new cases has been steadily falling since July. I’m not sure this is publicized much and is important as testing has increased over this time. On July 24th the 7-day moving average was over 74,000 new cases. At the end of September, the 7-day moving average was a little over 41,000 daily new cases. This is positive news.

Reported average daily deaths have been on a decline since August 1st. This is more good news.

While many areas have opened their economies closer to what used to be normal, many policies continue such as social distancing and wearing masks. Some areas have spikes in cases as well as deaths, and others the opposite.

  • The Debate

    The Debate

The long-awaited first debate between President Trump and Joe Biden finally happened. Approx 90 minutes in length, there were no real surprises. So much focus has been given and expectations were high on both sides. For me, there were no real surprises.

Trump and Biden threw jabs back and forth and several times it became personal. Fact-checkers likely could not type fast enough as many blatant lies came out of Biden’s mouth, and frequent “exaggerations” out of Trump’s. Trump certainly appeared to be in command and was aggressive. He was relentless against Biden(as well as Wallace at times) and Biden appeared to be unable to handle it. While Trump struggled during the discussion surrounding the coronavirus, he excelled when talking about Law-and-Order. Trump constantly interrupted Biden and argued with the moderator – Chris Wallace. Biden appeared to be very frail.  Trump was Trump – and Biden was not what he used to be.  As a professional politician Biden should have walked away the clear winner. He did not.

Chris Wallace is being attacked by the Right for taking sides with Biden. It certainly appeared based on a few of the questions asked that he was trying to “get” the President while not asking those same questions to Biden. Wallace also kept using some of Trump’s allotted time asking him questions and interrupting him while Trump spoke.

Trump appeared to be in command and was aggressive. He was relentless against Biden(as well as Wallace at times) and Biden appeared to be unable to handle it. While Trump struggled during the discussion surrounding the coronavirus, he excelled when talking about Law-and-Order. Overall – the true losers from the debate are the undecided American voters. Trump was not likable and failed to present his beliefs and policies clearly. Biden spoke lies and refused to answer questions directly often being general. Those voters who already have their candidate didn’t have their minds changed.

A couple highlights for me was Trump asking Biden to tell him one law enforcement agency that was supporting Biden. Biden could not provide one. Another is when Biden stated Antifa was not an organization, it was an idea.

Hopefully, during the next debate, Trump can hold back a bit on interrupting and stay focussed on the question and provide clearer answers and information. That may be difficult as Trump will likely be debating not only Biden but the moderator Steve Scully as well.

  • Protests Erupt After Grand Jury Decision in Breonna Taylor Case

Protests Erupt After Grand Jury Decision in Breonna Taylor Case

The Grand Jury in Lousiville, KY handed down their decisions in the Breonna Taylor shooting several months ago. Details of the case can be found online, however, I will say that many news agencies spread mistruths regarding the specifics. Regardless – one of the police officers involved has been charged with three counts of first degree “wanton endangerment”. Many who pointed to police as murderers of course expected charges of murder. Once the news broke regarding the grand jury – people in several cities took to the streets to protest the decision.

In New York City protestors took to the streets and blocked traffic in several areas of the city. One protester announced via a loudspeaker near Brooklyn, “Forget ‘Turn the other cheek “We’re way past that. It’s ‘eye for an eye’ now.”

In Louisville, a video was recorded showing people gathering around a UHaul truck as people were handed shields and signs on Wednesday. Many visiting the truck were holding bats. This was obviously well planned and funded. Over 100 were arrested and two police officers were shot. Protestors were seen with BLM signs as well as other

In Denver, CO a car plowed through several protestors blocking traffic. There were no injuries, however, news media is portraying the driver as the wrongdoer and not criticizing the protestors standing in the street. The incident occurred around 9:15pm in the midst of protesting throughout the city.

In Seattle, at least 13 people were arrested and several police officers injured as protesting erupted due to the grand jury announcement. While the news is calling the Denver incidences “protesting”, we all know it was a riot. Rocks, bottles, and EXPLOSIVES were thrown at police. Once police officer was his in the back of the head with a baseball bat cracking his helmet. Power was cut to security cameras of at least one police station.

In Atlanta protests broke out across the city and police had to use tear gas to disperse crowds. The National Guard was present in several areas to control events should rioting break out.

Wanton Endangerment: “A person is guilty of wanton endangerment in the first degree when, under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, he wantonly engages in conduct which creates a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to another person,” the statute reads.

As I’ve stated several times before this is the new normal. With every hint of perceived injustice, people will take to the streets, loot, steal, destroy, and become violent. Now – don’t get me wrong, the Breanna Taylor case should never have happened. Regardless – the justice system needs to take care of injustice rather than violent thugs taking things into their own hands. Protesting? Protesting is as American as apple pie.

I’ll mention something that will be discussed further in another upcoming post, and that’s Bear Spray. Bear Spray is excellent if dealing with…well….a bear, but also multiple people that may be threatening. A few bursts of bear spray and a crowd will be dispersed and those hit will not be able to see. I just ordered two cans.

Take care all and stay safe.

This is no time to be complacent.

  • Preparing for the Fallout of November 3rd(PART #1)

Preparing for the Fallout of November 3rd(PART #1)

For over 30 years I’ve been involved in survival and preparedness. Over all of this time, the world has ended at least a half-dozen times, or at least it was predicted to. The truth is people – including myself – are horrible at predicting the future as there are just far too many variables to consider to possibly be accurate. Myself? Yup. Guilty as charged. I’m going to give it another shot.

The country exited 2019 divided in many ways. While the election of Barrack Obama generated tremendous resentment and erected a wall between people – it was nothing compared to the election of Donald Trump. Trump Derangement Syndrome swept over the United States infecting citizens – especially at colleges and universities and large cities. The mainstream media pushed an agenda to spread this dreaded disease to as many possible. Many in Holywood became infected and used their influence to disseminate Trump Derangement Syndrome to as many people as possible.

There were millions who were immune. They had the ability to resist – to move on past the disease. These people all had something in common.

    Sanity.

    ENTER: 2020

So now we have “the most important election of our lifetime” on Tuesday, November 3rd. Is this next event going to come and go without any apocalyptic predictions coming true? Well, I suspect not. These times are unlike any other and the stage has been set, the fuse lit. No matter the outcome we are likely to see truly tumultuous events.

This begins an important series directly related to the upcoming Presential election. Please stay tuned.

    How Did We Get Here?

Over the last several months America has experienced an unprecedented level of civil unrest in major cities across the nation.  Much of this started with the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 25th. This unfortunate event caused mass protests across the nation against police brutality and calling for the defunding of police departments. Protests soon turned into riots causing millions of dollars in damage to private businesses and city property. The Black Lives Matter(BLM) movement became energized gaining mass support from many across America.

Numerous other publicized police interactions leading to the death of Black suspects fueled the fire and rioting continued. Some cities actually voted to defund – or reduce the funding of police departments. The Antifa organization joined in with the protests often being the instigator to starting violence and destruction. Buildings were set on fire, Molotov cocktails thrown, and people attacked and beaten. Statues across the nation were destroyed as rioters claimed they were racists symbols. In many of these Democrat-run cities, the Mayors ordered the police to stand down and allow rioters to destroy and conduct violent outbursts.

The Trump administration requested that the governors of the states where the violence was occurring to take action. In some cases, the National Guard was sent in and violence was squashed. In others – the rioting was largely allowed to occur. In many cases, Liberal politicians promoted the “understanding” of those rioting and suggested we need to “understand” them and allow them to vent and relieve stress.

In Seattle, Washington on June 8th a group of anarchist rioters took over several blocks and called the area CHAZ(Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone). This “autonomous” zone was created after a week’s worth of conflict between rioters, protestors, and police. This included a situation where a car drove in a crowd of protestors and as they worked to pull the driver out of the car he shot one of the rioters. After police continued to use tear gas and pepper spray against rioters – the mayor ordered the police to NOT use tear gas. The rioters then ramped up their violence and drove police from the area. Those occupying the area were aligned with the BLM movement and Antifa. While those who organized the area predicted an existence of peace and tranquility due to the absence of government and police – quite the opposite occurred. Many injuries, rapes, and several deaths occurred within the autonomous zone. On July 1st after another death, the Mayor finally ordered the police to clear the area.

Over time the mainstream media continued to push the BLM agenda. They broadcasted video after video of the George Floyd event as well as others supposedly showing police mistreating blacks due to the color of their skin. They broadcasted interview after interview of friends and family of those ion the video talking about how wonderful a person they were -despite the evidence to the contrary. Hour after hour, channel after channel – the media continued to condition the populace to believe that systemic racism was rooted in this country and that merely being white was associated with guilt. They also connected President Trump with racism….time and time again as they have since his election. This continued despite evidence to the contrary since his election.

While areas such as Portland, Oregon had over 100 nights of protests and rioting – lesser known more isolated events occurred all over the country.  In almost every case white people were targeted by black people – or other races in the guise of the BLM movement. Antifa also participated in the violence targeting those who stood in support of police and America. This targeting resulted in injury, destruction of property – and sometimes death. In Wilson, NC a black man walked out of his house and up to his 5-year-old white neighbor and shot him in the head. It’s reported he did this in support of BLM.

Blocking traffic, harassing anyone who seemed to be the opposition, and demanding those they confronted state loyalty to the BLM movement – or suffer the consequences.

An armed black militia in Georgia has made its existence known and stopped vehicles demanding reparations. They have continued to make incredible demands including their need for land which to establish their own country of only black people. They continue to threaten violence and make appearances fully armed.

As of this writing, white people are being targeted in major cities all over the country because of the color of there skin, or because they are Trump supporters.  Crowds of BLM have entered businesses demanding people raise their fist in solidarity with BLM – or they are harassed – or worst. A large percentage of the US population is supporting BLM.

I could go on and on. No doubt you’ve seen and heard of the craziness.

While Liberal politicians have sided with the Marxist BLM group – many businesses and professional sports teams have as well. So far it appears that consumers are striking back and not supporting such a movement as ratings are well below normal.

Over the last several months gun sales have reached unheard of levels and ammunition is sold out almost everywhere. People are concerned about crimewaves – and civil war. Many of these sales are going to first-time gun owners. Many of these reside on the Left of the political spectrum.

Note: It is important to realize that the vast majority of these events are taking place in large cities run by Liberal mayors.

    riot, George Floyd, protest,

    Current Situation

As of the third week of September and approx 6 weeks away from the election we are finding ourselves in unprecedented times. Over the past several months dealing with a deadly pandemic, along with some of the worst rioting and race relations this country has ever seen – the country remains deeply divided. Every conceivable issue is being politicized and friends and families are finding themselves on opposite ends of issues.

    • Supreme Court: The death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg has created a tornado of activity. With President Trump getting ready to nominate another Supreme Court Justice the Left is going completely insane. Nancy Pelosi is threatening impeachment should Trump move forward with a nomination.
    • COVID: There continue to be massive differences in opinion on how COVID should be handled both now – and in the past. Monday Morning Quarterbacking is taking place by those on the Left as they dissect and pick apart every action of the Trump Administration’s handling of the pandemic.
    • Voting: Due to the pandemic the Left is pushing vote-by-mail for the upcoming election. Regardless of the fact people can go walk into a liquor store or go to Walmart, they are suggesting it is simply too dangerous to go to a voting booth. Substantial evidence suggests that voting by mail will lead to a large delay in determining the results. Additional evidence shows that there is a chance for significant voter fraud.
    • Conceding the Election: Hillary Clinton stated: “Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances, because I think this is going to drag out, and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch, and if we are as focused and relentless as the other side is”. The Left is preparing to challenge the election should Trump win.
    • Lies: Joe Biden recently came out and said that if President Trump had performed his job as he should have – not one single person would have died from COVID-19. Not one single person. The MSM and the Left is relentlessly spreading propaganda in an effort to convince voters to vote against Trump.
    • 2nd Amendment: Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have made it no secret they will be going after the NRA and gun rights when they win the election. This is an admitted priority.
    • Biden: Biden continues to show that due to his declining health condition he will never complete a 4-year term. This means a Harris Administration. Based on her consistent radical belief’s a fundamental change to the country is what’s in order.
    • Violence: While protests and rioting have decreased in most areas, the smallest negative interaction between police and anyone black generates outrage.

Tension is high as well as the stakes.  Everyone is on edge. Politicians in Washington are fighting amongst themselves and it is evident that everyone has an agenda. As each day passes the pressure mounts and the tension thickens. People are worried about what will happen as a result of the election and the uncertainty is maddening for many.

This is where we are. Propaganda is being broadcasted by all sides and it is a waiting game. We are unlikely to see a winner on November 3rd. What might happen? Stay tuned for Part #2 as we explore the possibilities.

Is NOW The Time To Be Going Gray?

I’m beginning to see a mere glimmer of change. In areas across the country, there are people that are standing up for their rights and will not bow down to Antifa, BLM, and the like. They are ignoring the MSM’s claims of social morality. I’m seeing more stories of people defending themselves and their property. I’m seeing folks coming out to protests and proudly displaying the American flag that so many of the opposition love to hate. I’m seeing more and more stories of people on the Right challenging Liberal politicians and mounting movements to recall elected officials.
The recent “boat parades” in Texas, Florida, and South Carolina are an example of Patriotic Americans snubbing their nose at the status quo. Rather than staying at home shaking their heads at the ridiculous things shown in the media they are taking a stand.
    Trump boat parade
We often talk of “going gray” to reduce our exposure to the opposition.  This is often done in an effort to eliminate oneself from becoming a target.  Not letting others know about our preps so they won’t try to take them when things get bad is a form of going gray. Many are doing that now from a political perspective especially on the Right. That can be smart under certain circumstances and conditions.
Should you hide your political beliefs?
Now? I don’t think so. Not yet. We have so much on the line and if we fail to influence others, spread the word of truth, freedom, and liberty – then who’s to blame if we fail? For decades the Left has had their marches, their protests – their movements. There is little doubt they have been highly successful with an agenda of indoctrination and influence.  They have taken the stance that THEY are up on the moral high ground and looked down upon we “deplorables” who reportedly fail to see their fight for equality and fairness for all.
    Um…..Right.
The reality we all know to be true is when it comes to the moral high ground and what is right – we are on the RIGHT side of issues. This is absolutely clear. Crystal.
The country is declining fast. Talk of civil war is growing with each passing day. Rumors are flying that false flag events are likely to occur in an effort to distract, instill fear, and drive Americans to vote for change out of desperation. We need to stand tall and proud of what we believe.

    COVID-19

The spreading of COVID-19 continues with the number of cases and deaths worldwide increasing daily.

Here are the numbers as of September 17th, 2020:

    Global Confirmed Cases: 30,019,763

    Global Deaths: 943,515

    Global Recoveries: 20,416,103

    US Confirmed Cases: 6,513,489

    US Deaths: 197,589

    US Recoveries: 2,540,334

    US Active Cases: 3,775,566

Commentary:  The 7 day moving average of new cases has been steadily falling since July. I’m not sure this is publicized much and is important as testing has increased over this time. On July 24th the 7-day moving average was over 74,000 new cases. On September 3rd the 7-day moving average was a little over 41,000 daily new cases. This is positive news.

Reported average daily deaths have been on a decline since August 1st. This is more good news.

While many areas have opened their economies closer to what used to be normal, many policies continue such as social distancing and wearing masks. Some areas have spikes in cases as well as deaths, and others the opposite.

    [CHART]US Confirmed New Cases

Look at the statistics. The vast majority of all deaths fall within a very limited age range and with those that are already very ill. These people can and should be protected, however, the rest of the country should not continue to be constrained which is causing continued damage to the populace in numerous ways which we will feel for years to come.

    PROTESTING/RIOTING/CIVIL UNREST

Riots continue in several areas of the country – especially in Portland, OR. Protests are ramping up after the police shooting of a black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

    • Professional sports continue to bring politics and social justice into their games. Players – especially in the NBA –  are often seen wearing BLM shirts and hats and making statements in support of BLM. Recently the Houston Texans stayed in the locker room during the national anthem.
    • 2 LA County deputies ‘fighting for their lives’ after ambush shooting; Search for suspect underway. Protestors outside hospital chanted “We Hope They Die”
    • A “trained Marxist” founder of Black Lives Matter has teamed up on a new venture with a pro-Chinese Communist Party organization. Alicia Garza is now behind the advocacy group Black Futures Lab, which is backed by the Chinese Progressive Association.

Commentary: Athletes have tremendous influence and they’re pushing a Marxist, often violent agenda will not have positive results. The number of citizens who believe that violence and destruction is a tool that will get them what they want is increasing. Those willing to use violence and destruction as a tool to further than agenda is increasing. This is not going away.

Evil exists. We see rioters chasing down mothers and daughters and little kids. We see cops being ambushed, shot, attacked. We see innocent people walking down the street and severely injured or killed for simply being connected to an ethnic group or political ideology. Evil exists and we are seeing but a small part of its true presence right now.

A good friend has told me over and over again for the past year: Rourke – when it truly comes all crashing down, the horrendous things that people will do to each other you simply cannot imagine. People truly do not comprehend how bad it will get.

    I believe him.

    ECONOMY

The Coronavirus pandemic continues to be directed affecting the economy. Businesses across the nation have closed….and many are still closed. Reopening is happening at different levels and even seen some movie theaters are starting to reopen. Businesses of all sizes are included as manufacturing plants down to small mom & pop shops feel the effect. Some industries have seen a spike in business, while others have been decimated. With the rise of cases, limits on the number of people allowed in the business, and mandated masks  – many business are just trying to stay afloat.

    • Permanent business closures continue to rise.
    • The unemployment rate dropped to 8.4% for August which was much better than expected.
    • Food prices have rose 3.1% in 2020 compared to those same products in 2019.
    • The stock market continues to do well since the aftermath of deep drops due to COVID.

CommentaryThe economy continues to be held up by Federal spending, bubble gum, and duct tape. Reopening in areas continues to be a positive force in the economy, however, we are nowhere near the economic activity pre-COVID but there is hope. The economy and commerce in this country have been changed and the evolution continues. So many businesses have disappeared completely. Others have been damaged severely. Businesses have changed the way they conduct their activities due to COVID as well as political correctness.

My hope is that Congress will NOT provide incentives for people to remain out of work. Ingenuity will create solutions where problems lie and many businesses will regain their ability to succeed. Should the Trump administration continue for another 4 years, it is likely that further trade deals and deregulation will have a positive impact on the economy, thus helping a recovery.

    POLITICS

Much of the divide that is present in the nation is directly correlated to the divisive political environment currently in existence. Beyond healthy debate or even normal agenda-driven bias, the level of aggressive and purposely damaging action taken by Progressive politicians and groups is at an all-time high.

    • Amy Dorris alleges Trump forced his tongue down her throat and groped her at 1997 US Open
    • The stalemate in Congress has continued and officials appear to be losing hope for a new coronavirus stimulus package before the November elections. In an interview Wednesday, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) claimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to pass a bill for $1.5 trillion in coronavirus relief. The proposal, which was rejected by the Democrat House Committee chairs on Tuesday, was made by the the Problem Solvers Caucus with bipartisan support.
    • On Thursday, citizens of Michigan rallied in support of their Second Amendment rights in Lansing. Armed demonstrators gathered at the state capitol, where they demanded Governor Gretchen Whitmer and other Democrats stop infringing on their right to bear arms.

Commentary:   Seriously – can the Left not come up with something more original? A woman comes out right before the election with accusations against Trump. Predictable. There will be more.

The most destructive wildfires in history have decimated the West – and the Left have politicized thos unfortunate event. Not surprising. Hurricane Sally has caused severe flooding and damage in areas. Fall is fast approaching with Winter right after that. You know what that means….flu season.

    It’s going to be interesting.

The unpredictability of these times is maddening. It’s like trying to find Waldo while on a roller coaster doing multiple loops at 90mph. It’s an effort in futility. I suspect this will continue for months and it will be months before we realize the true effect all of this will have on our daily lives – and our future.

6% of COVID Deaths Only Had COVID: The announcement that the CDC provided analytics stating that 6% of deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause has created a wave of anger and outrage. Many are suggesting that the true death rate of COVID is much less due to this revelation. This is simply not true and this announcement should not be surprising. We have known for quite some time that COVID was particularly threatening to those that are older, and/or had secondary health concerns.   What this data does show and should generate anger and frustration is the fact that the current practices of economic restrictions imposed in most areas due to the virus should be lifted. There is no reason people cannot go back to work, go back to school – and go out to eat. No restrictions. The CDC recommendations should be for THOSE AT RISK to self-quarantine, wear masks, and take steps to protect themselves.

Look at the statistics. The vast majority of all deaths fall within a very limited age range and with those that are already very ill. • The National Guard made an appearance in Kenosha and the rioting has now largely stopped. This, of course, is after rioting went on for days causing millions of dollars in destruction and cost people their lives.
    • A video has been released from this past March showing police restraining a black male, placing a bag over his head, and laughing. The man was running around the street naked and his brother called for help. The man told the police he had COVID and the police put a “spit bag” over his head. After the man tried to get up the police further restrained him and he stopped breathing. Rioting broke out in Rochester, NC.
    • The Antifa protestor who shot and killed a Trump supporter was killed by law enforcement as they were attempting to make an arrest.

Commentary: Athletes have tremendous influence and they’re pushing a Marxist, often violent agenda will not have positive results. • Nancy Pelosi was caught in a hair salon that was shut down due to mandatory COVID policies.

Kenosha Wisconsin Shooting: Breakdown and Lessons Learned

The unfortunate situation that occurred during rioting in Kenosha, Washinton involving a 17-year-old who shot three people, killing two of them, has sparked great debate.  Even within the “Patriot” community, there is much disagreement on the right, wrong, legal, and illegal aspects of what occurred.

With the unpredictability of all that is going on, we have to stay ready and steadfast. Personal protection is a constant and many are hesitant of taking action to defend themselves as they fear prosecution. From a legal perspective using deadly force to save one’s life- or the life of another should be met favorably by local DA’s. Of course, I’m not an attorney.

Here are the numbers as of August 27th, 2020:

    Global Confirmed Cases: 24,266,622

    Global Deaths: 827,527

    Global Recoveries: 15,839,685

    US Deaths: 180,020

    US Recoveries: 2,084,465

    US Active Cases: 3,574,210

Commentary: The past 3 weeks is showing a slight trend downward for deaths attributed to COVID and a fairly significant drop in new cases.

One of the biggest things we can do right now from a preparedness perspective is to take care of ourselves. Exercise, lose weight, stop smoking, and improve immune systems. There are many thousands of people across America right now laying in a hospital bed who thought it wasn’t that big of a deal.

With the year nearing the end of summer let’s hope the “second wave” fails to transpire with Fall approaching.

    PROTESTING/RIOTING/CIVIL UNREST

Riots continue in several areas of the country – especially in Portland, OR. Protests are ramping up after the police shooting of a black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

    • The NBA boycotted several games in response to the Kenosha shooting.
    • Kenosha has become a battlefield. Several people have been shot and killed with one incident recorded on video as a man with an AR-variant was chased and attacked. He shot several of his attackers.
    • A total of 71 people were arrested during protests over Breonna Taylor’s death in Louisville, Ky.
    • Rioters in Portland tried to set city hall on fire Tuesday during another chaotic night that resulted in the arrest of nearly two dozen people.
    • A suspected gunman fatally shot himself Wednesday as Minneapolis police were moving in to arrest him for a slaying committed hours earlier, sparking looting in the downtown area. Area residents were blaming the police for the death with many believing police shot the man.
    • The majority of professional sports are canceling games as a protest against the shooting in Kenosha.

CommentaryWhile overall protesting and violent civil unrest have decreased across much of the country there is no doubt the sheer violence and intensity has increased. BLM continues to ramp its rhetoric as well as Antifa. Most major businesses and sports are doing the “politically correct” thing and creating policies in support of BLM. Some businesses are even giving preferential support to minority-owned businesses in an effort to remain off the “targeted” list of BLM and the Left.

We are seeing that most any event perceived as race-based is generating an outburst of protests and rioting. Where this will all go especially with the increase in violence is unknown. I suspect it is not going to suddenly improve.

    • It’s easier to understand gold’s record-breaking move up if you look at it from the other side of the equation. The dollar is now at its all-time low compared to gold. In simple terms, the dollar is losing value and dollar debasement is driving up the price of gold. This isn’t a narrative you don’t typically hear on the mainstream financial networks, but there seems to be a growing awareness that the dollar and the system based on it might be in trouble – even in the mainstream investment world.
    • The National Debt is approaching 27 trillion dollars.
    • Jobless Claims: The 1.006 million claims was a very modest improvement over last week’s 1.104 million but is the 22nd of the last 23 weeks where over 1 million Americans have filed.
    • The stock market continues to hover unrealistically high and counter to economic indicators. This is a positive thing for 401k’s.
    • Record GDP Plunge Revised Slightly Higher: US Economy Contracted 31.7% In Q2. The decrease in real GDP reflected decreases in consumer spending, exports, business investment, inventory investment, and housing investment that were partially offset by an increase in government spending. Imports, a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, decreased.
    • Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell announced a new strategy of average inflation targeting. According to reports Thursday, the central bank formally agreed to the policy to allow inflation to “moderately” run higher than the two-percent target for an undetermined time.

CommentaryThe economy continues to be held up by Federal spending, bubble gum, and duct tape. Reopening in areas continue to be a positive force in the economy, however, we are nowhere near the economic activity pre-COVID. The economy and commerce in this country have been changed and the evolution continues. So many industries have disappeared completely.

    • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested Thursday that former Vice President Joe Biden cancel his three scheduled debates with President Trump because the commander-in-chief would “belittle” the forum and engage in “skullduggery.”
    • Former President Barack Obama on Wednesday praised the Milwaukee Bucks for “standing up for what they believe in” following the team’s decision to boycott their NBA playoff game in response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake in the team’s home state of Wisconsin.
    • Latest Fox News poll has Biden winning should it happen now.
    • Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Tuesday charged that President Trump is “rooting for more violence, not less” after two people were killed in Kenosha, Wis., amid turmoil following a law enforcement officer wounding 29-year-old Black man Jacob Blake.

Commentary:   As usual, Democrats and Republicans remain on opposite ends of the opinion spectrum to best serve this country….and pretty much everything else.

The unpredictability of these times is maddening. It’s like trying to find Waldo while on a roller coaster doing multiple loops at 90mph. It’s an effort in futility. I suspect this will continue for months and it will be months before we realize the true effect all of this will have on our daily lives – and our future.

  • Outlook for Civil Unrest

    Outlook for Civil Unrest

Protesting and exercising 1st Amendment rights is as American as apple pie. The looting, rioting, and destruction taking place in areas across the country is not protesting – it’s anarchy. While there is no shortage of jokes going around about how these rioters come from their “mommies basement” and can be disbanded by throwing job applications at them – it’s a very serious situation. These rioters are fairly well organized, some are backed financially and even have legal representation, and are large in numbers. Police are powerless to respond in some areas due to being outnumbered – and the politics being played make things worse. Governors and mayors in the areas most affected are largely allowing the rioting to just continue. Large volumes of National Guardsmen are not being deployed. Curfews are enacted, threats of arrest are made, but, in the end, millions of dollars in damages are incurred and lives are lost.

The problem with movements such as BLM and Antifa is they fester and react on problems and specific events. They will grab hold of the smallest thing – or the biggest – and motivate their followers to behave in a manner that defies logic and common sense. Similar to a terrorist organization or financial religion? Absolutely. In 2020 there is no shortage of problems and a trend is continuing to show that not only are these rioters “triggered” more easily, but they are becoming more emboldened in their actions and demands.

patreon, banner, logo, survival, preparedness, SHTF, prepper,

One recent situation involved people eating in a restaurant. A BLM crowd came into the restaurant and told everyone to raise a fist in solidarity with BLM. One couple sitting at a table wouldn’t comply – and they were targeted. They were screamed at and threatened by numerous people. No violence – but infiltration of personal space certainly happened.

There are multiple sides and numerous facets to the issues which protesting and riots are taking place. Racial injustice and systemic racism is frequently heard from BLM. Antifa stands for economic equality(socialism) and says they are against fascism and capitalism. We all know they are actually the fascists. BLM and Antifa are but two groups that are most notable. Numerous militia groups and freedom-loving Patriots have also made themselves known as they stand against the policies – and groups – which are supporting economic COVID shutdowns as well as the rioting and looting. I have said for years when we get to a point where rioting is a daily event AND firearms are being used on both sides a tipping point has been reached – or is close at hand. It is now becoming more and more common that multiple sides are armed and actually engaging in firefights. People are being shot and people are dying.

    line

The outcome of the elections in November will have an impact on this civil unrest. Should Trump gain an additional 4 years in the White House I am expecting a dramatic increase in protesting and violence. Should the Biden/Harris ticket win many who are protesting for change will have their outrage quelled and likely will garner some sense of satisfaction and patience to wait and see the change they so desire to occur. But hey – who knows?

Now is not the time to be complacent.

  • Are You Ready for the Next Lockdown?

Are You Ready for the Next Lockdown?

Regardless of the facts, and what any of us believe pertaining to COVID-19, we all have to deal with the actions of local, state, and federal government policies put in place as a response to the virus.

Very soon after states started easing restrictions and reopening the number of new cases started to rise. While it can be argued – and should be – that more testing equates to an increase in new cases – the rising number of deaths is concerning. Over the past 7-10 days, the daily number of deaths appears to be decreasing. This is good news.

By the way – I am well aware that the data is skewed and accuracy is highly suspicious. The data used is what we have to go by at the moment. Real-world evidence has many hospitals beyond full capacity. The virus is spreading and the number of hospitalizations and deaths is up. There is no doubt about that. The true “death rate” or measure of lethality is certainly not nearly as high as the American people and the world was led to believe.

    ‘Nuff said on the data.

    The New Normal

Policies, rules, and planned reactions to levels of infection vary greatly by localities and state. Politicians are largely instituting policies based on a combination of effective practices to diminish the spread, economic impact, and poll numbers.

Notice I did not mention “Rights of the citizen and constitutionality” as a contributing factor towards policy development. When you can walk into a liquor store, loot and riot, go to Walmart – but you cannot go to church – the obvious biases are evident. Another relevant example of political bias toward determining policy is how a large segment of the Left wants to provide simple and insecure means to vote – rather than the normal method. Once again – people can stand in line at Wal-Mart, however, to many standing in line to vote is too dangerous. The lack of consistency and the level of hypocrisy knows no boundaries.

Masks are part of the new normal. Social distancing is part of the new normal. Shopping online and using innovation to find methods of conducting commerce with little to know physical interactions is part of the new normal.

Part-time school with a substantial amount of online learning is likely something that will not be going away anytime soon. Students wearing masks all day and minimal class-sizes may become part of the new normal. The changes in schools and e-learning will have a detrimental impact on the economy and developmental progress of students.

The coming Fall/Winter season will be the first dealing with COVID. Imagine how people will be looked at who are sneezing, coughing, and have stuffy noses due to the common cold? Employers will increase their requirements on testing for those “suspected” of having any kind of sickness to make absolutely certain it’s not COVID will increase.

Imagine what will occur when a vaccine comes out. How many employers will require as part of employment all employees to get the vaccine? Will Schools will require students to get the COVID vaccine in order to enroll?

    It’s going to be interesting.

    Steps to Prepare

I’m not expecting any kind of catastrophe due to the 2nd wave of shutdowns. Here are a few thoughts pertaining to commonsense preparedness for the coming lockdown:

Basic Pandemic Protection: For those looking to protect themselves as much as possible from contracting COVID-19 the following items are recommended to stock up in quantity.

    • Masks – as more and more places are requiring masks, make sure you have plenty on hand.
    • Hand Sanitizer – Hand sanitizer has become much more readily available. If the new cases continue to trend upward and you wish to avoid contracting the virus, hand sanitizer is useful for sanitizing hands and other items such as shopping cart handles.
    • Disinfectant Spray – Still hard to find in most areas, “Lysol” type spray is useful for disinfecting larger areas and objects such as toilet seats, doorknobs, keyboards, etc.
    • Antibacterial Cleaning – Cleaning items such as Clorox wipes and cleaning solutions that are effective against viruses are still highly sought after and difficult to find.

Other Preparedness Tasks/Steps: When the Fall comes the unknown will arrive. The regular flu will infect hundreds of thousands of people and with similar symptoms to COVID and create an environment of fear and suspicion. Everyone with sniffles, a cough, a stuffy nose – will be looked at as “one of those”.   Wait and see.

The complexity of this situation cannot be overstated.

    • Debt Reduction. With the economic uncertainty and businesses closing, reducing hours, and changing how they operate the chances of becoming unemployed are likely to increase in the Fall. Reducing debt to better be able to handle times of income reduction should be started now.
    • Saving. Saving goes right along with debt reduction. Having an emergency cash stash just in case makes sense and will help if income reductions occur.
    • Secondary Streams of Income. Backup funding sources to keep you afloat should hours get cut back or you lose your job should be a priority. Selling things on eBay is a good example. Using a skill such as baking cakes or petsitting is another.
    • Stocking Up. Food prices have increased substantially over the past few months. Will this trend continue? I would plan on YES. Buying food now – especially on sale and using coupons, can save you a lot of money. Buying now being smart and strategic could save you upwards of 30-40% over what you might pay in 6 months. Spend $750 per month on groceries now? This could amount to a $300 per month savings later. BTW – this goes for everything – not just food.
    • Cold/Flu Medicines. There is likely to be a run on cold & flu medicines this Fall. Stock up now as supplies will likely become short and prices will go up.

Regardless of what the next lockdown looks like or if we have one at all – I’m not sure there has been a time in the past 100 years where the future of our country has been so uncertain.

Keep prepping. Keep moving forward. Stay positive!

STATUS REPORT: Things Continue to Heat Up Along With Summer Temperatures

Every week we provide insight on events as they develop and transpire across America. In these unprecedented times, it’s difficult to grasp the complexity of everything that’s going on. We are not a news agency and make no claims to be experts on the topics discussed. What is absolutely certain is we are investing time to research information with a quest for truth using facts, logic, and some common sense thrown in.

    COVID-19

The spreading of COVID-19 continues with the number of cases and deaths worldwide increasing daily.

Here are the numbers as of July 30th, 2020:

    Global Confirmed Cases: 17,067,754

    Global Deaths: 667,935

    Global Recoveries: 9,995,227

    US Confirmed Cases: 4,447,648

    US Deaths: 151,077

    US Recoveries: 1,389,425

    US Active Cases: 2,907,146

    • Deaths in the U.S. from coronavirus continues upward and the country leads the globe in the number of cases and fatalities.
    • Florida: After seeing 10,000 new cases a day become the norm across the state in July, many of those on the frontlines are frustrated with the apparent inability of local, state, and federal governments to coordinate an adequate response. They are equally aghast with what appears to be the reluctance or refusal of many Floridians to honor safety precautions to stop the spread of coronavirus.
    • Rep. Louie Gohmert — a Texas Republican who has been walking around the Capitol without a mask — has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple sources.
    • Douglas Marks, 29, was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, use of a firearm to commit a felony and discharging a firearm in public. He fired a gun in a hotel due to people not social distancing.
    • Herman Cain — the maverick American business czar and Republican presidential candidate who campaigned for a sweeping tax reform plan called 9-9-9 — died Thursday morning after a monthlong battle with the coronavirus. He was 74.

CommentaryCOVID-19 continues to be a force to reckon with. Despite conspiracy theories on how the virus originated and early reports of inflated lethality rates – people are dying daily from the disease. Herman Cain’s death is significant as he is likely the highest-profile victim. COVID is dangerous to millions of Americans, and not so to millions more. We will continue to see the death’s climb and as a result, the impact to our personal freedom and economic viability will be impacted. In many cases, actions taken are purely for optics and publicity rather than true effectiveness.

    PROTESTING/RIOTING/CIVIL UNREST

    • New York: Protests appear to be diminishing, however, in some areas they remain violent and destructive. If the spike in shootings isn’t keeping NYPD commissioner Shea up at night, the protesters must be. A group of demonstrators shined lights and blared sirens at the top cop’s W. 73rd Street home at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a video posted to social media.
    • Portland: Federal and Oregon state officials have developed a plan to cooperate on securing the Portland federal courthouse from rioters, however differences regarding the deployment of federal law enforcement remain. Portland has seen nightly riots since the death of George Floyd. Rioters have consistently targeted the federal courthouse in Portland, attacking federal law enforcement with various weapons including Molotov cocktails, and in some cases blinding officers with lasers.
    • Minneapolis: Police say a man captured on surveillance video breaking windows at an auto parts store is a Hell’s Angels member who was bent on stirring up social unrest.
    • Another night of rioting and lawlessness exploded in more than half a dozen U.S. cities Saturday night — with the mayhem including damage to federal buildings, local police precincts, and a fatal shooting in Austin, Texas.
    • A growing number of Washinton Elite believe that the rioting, ad much of the protests, would disappear if Trump would resign as President.

Commentary: While the overall numbers of protesting have decreased, there are still pockets of civil unrest and violence in many areas. Liberal cities are the primary areas of concentration where frequently lawlessness is being allowed to occur. It has been mentioned in previous installments the new normal will see protests and riots flare up with little provocation.

    ECONOMY

The Coronavirus pandemic continues to be directed affecting the economy. Businesses across the nation have closed….and many are still closing. Businesses of all sizes are included as manufacturing plants down to small mom & pop shops feel the effect. With the rise of cases, limits on the number of people allowed in the business, and mandated masks increase ultimately businesses suffer.

    • “While the USPS is able to fund its operating expenses without additional borrowing at this time, we are pleased to have reached an agreement on the material terms and conditions of a loan, should the need arise,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in a statement.  10 billion dollars.
    • The U.S. economy suffered its worst period ever in the second quarter, with GDP falling a historic 32.9%.
    • The number of Americans who filed new claims for unemployment benefits last week totaled 1.434 million, the Labor Department reported Thursday, roughly in line with expectations, as the coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage the U.S. economy.
    • Food insecurity for U.S. households last week reached its highest reported level since the Census Bureau started tracking the data in May, with almost 30 million Americans reporting that they’d not had enough to eat at some point in the seven days through July 21.

CommentaryThe economy is in serious trouble. The amount of money that has been removed from the economy is massive – and much of it is permanent. The Fed has helped keep the economy going and will continue to do so. There is much talk of more stimulus going to the American people. While the Conservative, free-market person in me disagrees with the premise, I believe that is all that is keeping us from teetering over the edge. I am looking for a few years at most to prepare for the eventual crash into the abyss.

    POLITICS/WORLD EVENTS

Much of the divide that is present in the nation is directly correlated to the divisive political environment currently in existence. Beyond healthy debate or even normal agenda-driven bias, the level of aggressive and purposely damaging action taken by Progressive politicians and groups is at an all-time high.

    • China’s English language state-run Global Times, which often serves as an unofficial foreign policy arm of Beijing signaling the communist government’s intent and messages to the West, has issued a new article along with tweets saying the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) stands ready to ‘retaliate’ amid rumors the US could launch attacks on Chinese islands and reefs in the South China Sea.
    • The Trump administration has reiterated its support for a short-term extension on federal unemployment benefits, as well as a moratorium on evictions. Unemployment benefits will lapse at the end of the month, while the federal moratorium on evictions expired on July 24.
    • Gold and silver continue to climb upwards as it becomes obvious the economy is in serious, longterm trouble.
    • Last week, the head of the U.S.’s newest military branch, the Space Force, cautioned publicly for the first time that Moscow had undertaken at least two concerning anti-satellite weapon tests in recent months, in a potential bid to develop on-orbit efficiency that could dangerously hinder the U.S.’s heavy dependency on space-based systems.
    • President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested delaying the November election until ‘people can properly, securely and safely vote.’
    • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi mandated the wearing of face masks in the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday.

Commentary: Nothing surprising here. The political division continues to grow and the pathetic display by many in Congress to push agendas rather than effective solutions.  One example is related to the COVID stimulus. Many people could be going back to work, however, they have been making more money sitting at home than working due to the $600 per week Federal stipend. It has now ended and one side wants to minimize the weekly amount while the other side wishes to maximize it – and continue to provide an incentive to NOT work.

    Insanity. It will continue.

The unpredictability of these times is maddening. It’s like trying to find Waldo while on a roller coaster doing multiple loops at 90mph. It’s an effort in futility. I suspect this will continue for months and it will be months before we realize the true effect all of this will have on our daily lives – and our future.

  • The ‘Economic Recovery’ Is Dead And Businesses Are Failing At A Staggering Pace

The ‘Economic Recovery’ Is Dead And Businesses Are Failing At A Staggering Pace

Rourke: The following is reprinted from TheEconomicCollapseBlog and written by Michael Snyder.  We all have hope the economy will recover completely. Personally, I hope it recovers enough to give us at least 2-3 years for further preparations. A full recovery? Not likely.

    line

Even though economic conditions were absolutely awful, during the month of June the mainstream media kept insisting that the U.S. economy was “recovering” and the stock market kept surging on every hint of good news.  But now the “economic recovery” narrative is completely dead, because the numbers clearly show that the U.S. economy is rapidly moving in the wrong direction.  On Thursday, the Labor Department announced that another 1.416 million Americans filed new claims for unemployment benefits last week.  Prior to this year, the all-time record for a single week was just 695,000, and so we are talking about a level of unemployment that is absolutely catastrophic.  But what is really alarming many analysts is that the number for last week was quite a bit higher than the number for the week before.  Many states are rolling out new restrictions as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to surge, and this is having a huge impact on economic activity.  For months I have been warning that fear of COVID-19 would prevent economic activity from returning to normal levels for the foreseeable future, and that is precisely what has happened.

Overall, more than 52 million Americans have filed new claims for unemployment benefits over the past 18 weeks, and that makes this the biggest spike in unemployment in U.S. history by a very wide margin.

In fact, this dwarfs all previous spikes by so much that the others are not even worth mentioning.

Of course, it isn’t just the employment numbers that are depressingly bad.  According to Jefferies, in late June 19 percent of all U.S. small businesses were closed, but now that number has risen to 24.5 percent

As of Sunday, 24.5% of small businesses in the United States were closed, according to Jefferies. That is worse than late June, when only 19% were closed. Jefferies pointed to “particular weakness in COVID hot spots” and noted that small business employment had dropped to levels unseen since the end of May.

Just think about that number for a minute.

Nearly a quarter of all small businesses in the entire country are closed.

And the really bad news is that many of them will never end up reopening.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I received a lot of criticism for stating that many of the small businesses that were shutting down at that time would never open again, but over the long-term the numbers have shown that I was correct.

In fact, Yelp says that a whopping 60 percent of the restaurants that were initially listed as “temporarily closed” on their site are now classified as permanently closed…

It’s tough out there for restaurants and other small businesses.

Yelp’s Economic Average report out Wednesday shows exactly how tough: 60 percent of the 26,160 temporarily closed restaurants on the business review site as of July are now permanently shut. Temporary closures are dropping, and permanent shutdowns are increasing.

Fear of COVID-19 is going to cause a large portion of the population to continue to avoid restaurants for as long as this pandemic persists, and it is becoming clear that it is likely to persist for a long time to come.

We are going to lose so many small and independent places to eat.  Many of the big corporate chains that have very deep pockets will survive, at least for a while, but there is simply no replacing what small and independent restaurants mean to our communities.

Bars and clubs are being hit extremely hard as well.  According to Yelp, 44 percent of the bars and clubs on their site that were initially listed as “temporarily closed” have now been shut down on a permanent basis…

Bars and clubs are also closing forever at high rates: 44 percent (as of July) of 5,454 temporarily shuttered bars and other nightlife establishments are shut for good.

Other sectors of the economy are doing relatively better, but the overall outlook for small businesses in America is exceedingly bleak.

In New York City, it is being projected that one-third of all small businesses will never be able to open again…

As many as 76,000 small businesses in New York City – a third of the 230,000 citywide – may never reopen after forced to close during the COVID-19 lockdown, business leaders have warned.

The Partnership for New York City, a not-for-profit organization that connects business leaders with local government, predicted that 76,000 small businesses will never be able to reopen in a report produced by 14 consulting firms.

I know that number is hard to believe, but this is actually happening.

Our politicians want to encourage people “to go back to work”, but for millions upon millions of Americans the jobs that they once had are gone forever.

Air travel is another industry that is being absolutely devastated by this pandemic.  After a modest bounce in June, the number of air passengers is starting to fall again

The resurgence of coronavirus infections is derailing the travel industry’s modest recovery. The number of air passengers processed through TSA security lines fell during the week ended July 20, compared with the prior week, according to Bank of America. This metric is down more than 70% from a year ago.

United (UAL) CEO Scott Kirby told CNBC on Wednesday that the airline doesn’t “expect to get anywhere close to normal until there’s a vaccine that’s been widely distributed to a large portion of the population.”

All of the numbers that I have shared in this article tell us that we are in an economic depression.

Many had hoped that this economic downturn would be short-lived and that a “V-shaped recovery” would commence once the coronavirus lockdowns were lifted.

But instead a resurgence of cases has caused new restrictions to be implemented, and economic activity is slowing down again.

The bottom line is that all of us need to get prepared to weather a long-term economic storm that is going to be incredibly painful.

The last recession was bad, but it isn’t even worth comparing to the times that we are entering now.  All of our lives are being turned upside down, and a lot of people are not going to be able to handle what comes next.

    • A new coronavirus mutation has become the most dominant strain of the virus — and is causing outbreaks to spread more quickly across the world, an expert said.
    • A report out of Florida shows many people who have never been tested for COVID-19 are receiving phone calls claiming they’ve tested positive.
    • 60 percent of the 26,160 temporarily closed restaurants as of July are now permanently shut. Temporary closures are dropping, and permanent shutdowns are increasing.
    • Mayor of Washington, DC Muriel Bowser (D) issued an executive order Wednesday requiring residents to wear masks outside of the home as the city battles rising coronavirus cases. Fines up to $1,000 are permitted should anyone outside of their home not wear a mask.

Commentary: Those of us who have said – “There’s got to be more to this than what we are seeing” just several weeks ago can now see it….if you look. Hospitals across the nation are filling. This is not fake. It is real. While COVID-19 maybe not much more than the flu for most – it is deadly for many.

One of the biggest things we can do right now from a preparedness perspective is to take care of ourselves. Exercise, lose weight, stop smoking, and improve immune systems. There are many thousands of people across America right now laying in a hospital bed who thought it wasn’t that big of a deal.

Those that never make it out of that hospital will tell you that it is. Don’t let social media develop your opinion on things.

    PROTESTING/RIOTING/CIVIL UNREST

Protests appear to be diminishing, however, in some areas they remain violent and destructive.

    • The city of Portland, OR continues to see violence and rioting almost nightly. Wednesday evening Federal law enforcement agents fired tear gas into a growing crowd outside the Justice Center to disperse the crowd. Mayor Ted Wheeler was in the crowd and later thanked everyone for coming out against the Trump occupation of the city.
    • Seattle leaders state they do not want Federal law enforcement personnel in the city regardless of the violence that erupted on Sunday. Storefronts were smashed, court buildings and police stations were attacked as well.
    • Downtown Raleigh, NC is struggling to recover from riots in the wake of George Floyd protests in late May. And some businesses that haven’t yet reopened may not come back at all. Many of these businesses are owned by African-Americans.
    • Police in Pittsburgh, PA shared pictures of 5 people who are believed to have instigated a riot in late May. They are seen via video and camera footage throwing items at police.
    • Louisville, KY: Both the First and Second Amendments could be on full display in Louisville this weekend if and when an armed Black militia group comes to town. The group, known as the NFAC or the Not F***ing Around Coalition, says it won’t be demonstrating or marching, but lining up a formation of armed Black militia members. The group’s founder, Grandmaster Jay, has recorded several social media videos promoting the event. Of note is that there will be other militia’s with differing beliefs than the NFAC also present. This is a powderkeg just waiting to blow.

CommentaryWhile overall protesting and violent civil unrest have decreased things are not back to normal. BLM continues to ramp its rhetoric as well as Antifa. Most major businesses are doing the “politically correct” thing and creating policies in support of BLM. Some businesses are even giving preferential support to minority-owned businesses in an effort to remain off the “targeted” list of BLM and the Left.

I suspect that moving forward it will not take much to spark a sudden increase in protesting, and following that civil unrest. What will happen when federally funded unemployment compensation runs out? The new normal has those easily triggered taking to the streets and defying all sense of morality.

    • Bullion has gained 22% this year and is within about $70 of an all-time high. And with five-year Treasuries now yielding -1.15% once the effects of inflation are stripped out, a seven-year low, there’s little reason to expect a slowdown in precious-metal buying as investors fret about the weakness of the economic recovery, prospects for further outbreaks of Covid-19 and the impact of central bank bond buying.
    • ‘Now’s not the time to turn off the faucet when, you know, we should be using our strong balance sheet to borrow to stimulate the economy’ – California Democratic Rep. Scott Peters. The National Debt is approaching 27 trillion dollars.
    • AT&T Inc., for the first time, disclosed how many customers stopped paying their phone bill because of economic hardships related to the virus-induced recession. The company said 338,000 regular mobile-phone subscribers stopped paying in the second quarter; an additional 159,000 broadband customers and 91,000 TV subscribers stopped paying as well.
    • The stock market continues to hover unrealistically high and counter to economic indicators. This is a positive thing for 401k’s.
    • Real estate picked up in June as many sellers and buyers re-entered the market. Low supply, higher demand, and low-interest rates have helped bolster a market that was depressed over the past few months. Of particular interest are land parcels located out in the country away from cities.

CommentaryThe economy continues to be held up by Federal spending, bubble gum, and duct tape. The economy and commerce in this country have been changed and the evolution continues. So many industries have disappeared completely.

    • In an interview with CNN on Tuesday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said the nation is suffering from the “Trump virus,” or the results of President Trump’s handling of the coronavirus.
    • Voters in the crucial battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania and North Carolina will begin casting ballots in September, giving President Donald Trump and Joe Biden just weeks to make their cases to voters.
    • Negotiations continue in Washington DC over the next coronavirus relief package, Republicans and Democrats have shifted their focus to the next round of direct stimulus payments.

Commentary:   As usual, Democrats and Republicans remain on opposite ends of the opinion spectrum to best serve this country. Regarding the COVID relief package, Democrats want to provide incentives for people to remain out of work, while Republicans want the opposite. The blatant opposing perspectives for both the Right and the Left could not be more evident and obvious. Longtime Democrat-run cities have fared poorly during the economic crisis compared to the Conservative to Moderate-run cities. Over and over again throughout the world and through history it has been shown that individual freedoms and efforts trump socialism every time.

The unpredictability of these times is maddening. It’s like trying to find Waldo while on a roller coaster doing multiple loops at 90mph. It’s an effort in futility. I suspect this will continue for months and it will be months before we realize the true effect all of this will have on our daily lives – and our future.

STATUS REPORT: America Unsettled and Uncertain About the Future

Every week we provide insight on events as they develop and transpire across America. In these unprecedented times, it’s difficult to grasp the complexity of everything that’s going on. We are not a news agency and make no claims to be experts on the topics discussed. What is absolutely certain is we are investing time to research information with a quest for truth using facts, logic, and some common sense thrown in.

    COVID-19

The spreading of COVID-19 continues with the number of cases and deaths worldwide increasing daily.

Here are the numbers as of July 16th, 2020:

    Global Confirmed Cases: 13,578,608

    Global Deaths: 584,782

    Global Recoveries: 7,596,551

    US Confirmed Cases: 3,499,771

    US Deaths: 137,420

    US Recoveries: 1,367,648

    US Active Cases: 1,994,703

    • A 37-year-old Iraqi war veteran in Ohio dies of COVID after posting on social media that he doesn’t believe the hype. On July 1st he began to have symptoms. Three days later he was dead.
    • Love Connection host Chuck Woolery Tweeted the following….“The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19,” Woolery wrote. “Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most ,that we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election.”
    • Cities across the country in areas showing an increase in positive COVID cases are suggesting a new wave of shutdowns. An Example: Houston leaders are calling for another lockdown as the number of active cases of the coronavirus in the county increased to more than 27,600 on Sunday. Houston’s Harris County — the most populous county in Texas — has been the hardest-hit in the Lone Star State.
    • California Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered Monday all counties in the state to close indoor operations for a handful of businesses, including restaurants, bars, movie theaters and museums, as Covid-19 cases continue to climb.
    • Schools across the nation are developing strategies to be able to open and handle children while reducing the spread of the virus. In Los Angles, the superintendent for the Los Angeles Unified School District announced Monday that students will not return to the classroom when the fall semester begins next month because of the surge in coronavirus cases across the area.
    • Cities across the country are passing city ordinances requiring all citizens to wear masks when out in public. The repercussions of not doing so carry penalties from absolutely nothing – up to fines and jail time.
    • Georgia Governor bans all cities from mandating masks to be worn.

Commentary: The “new normal” continues to evolve. Policies on social distancing, wearing masks, and limits on the number of people allowed in a particular space are criteria that are just getting started and will likely be strengthened and required for years to come. The new normal will fundamentally change this country and society itself. The significant impact on the economy and the repercussions of that impact are highly underestimated.

    PROTESTING/RIOTING/CIVIL UNREST

Protests continue to occur across the nation. Many demand racial justice, the defunding of police, or societal change towards socialism. The removal or destruction of symbols from history continues to be relevant.

    • 87 protestors were arrested as they conducted a “sit in” at the home – and on the property of – Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron on Tuesday. They were demanding justice for Breonna Taylor – who was killed as part of a No-Knock warrant by police. They were at the wrong home.
    • In North Portland, a crowd of over 200 protested against police brutality. Items were thrown at police as well as a construction worker who was boarding up the police station in that area.  A recent shooting where a black man was killed as by police seemed to be an ignitor.
    • There has been a massive spike in gun and ammunition purchases across the country as riots and protests have people on edge and have contributed to a growing level of uncertainty. A large percentage of buyers are new to the world of firearms.
    • A Supreme Cout police vehicle was set on fire by an individual who poured a flammable liquid on the car and then ignored it. The suspect has been arrested.

Commentary: Civil unrest, rioting, and protesting seem to be on the decrease. While this is good news there are still pockets of violence erupting in various places. One thing that appears to be true is that the “new normal” has that almost any controversial event will cause riots and civil unrest to occur.  There is little more American than protesting, however, the recent examples have certainly led to more significant and detrimental activities.

    • Texas is the latest state to consider reversing its re-opening and begin shutting down “non-essential businesses.”
    • Schools in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Atlanta will begin entirely online, officials said Monday. Schools in Nashville plan to do the same, at least through Labor Day. The economic impact of schools not reopening with normal attendance across much of the country is significant.  Daycare facilities and retail sales for school clothes and supplies will suffer greatly.
    • Businesses across the country cannot get people to come back to work as they can often make more money being in unemployment than working.

    Commentary:

The COVID bailouts of businesses and payments made to Americans via stimulus checks and unemployment stipends show the inept ability of the government to do anything right. Over 3 trillion dollars spent and added to the National Debt and the vast majority of it went to big corporations and businesses who scammed the system. Companies with 10 employees reported saving 500 jobs as one example.

The government is now too big NOT to fail.

    POLITICS

Much of the divide that is present in the nation is directly correlated to the divisive political environment currently in existence. Beyond healthy debate or even normal agenda-driven bias, the level of aggressive and purposely damaging action taken by Progressive politicians and groups is at an all-time high.

    • Joe Biden is running ads in Texas. The significance of this cannot be overstated.  Normally valuable campaign funds would only be used in a state in which the candidate believes they have a chance to win. The largely Conservative Texas has largely been signed by Democrat Presidential candidates.
    • The Trump campaign is running ads in Georgia. Similar to the above story – Trump would not normally spend campaign funds this early on a state which he is sure to win. Georgia has largely been considered a shoo-in for Trump – until now.
    • Shutdowns: At this point, the division is obvious.  President Trump and other top Republicans are adamant against lockdowns, but Democratic politicians in many areas of the country are suggesting their need or implementing them.

    Commentary:

Politicians are elected to serve their constituents. The reality is on both sides far too often their election leads to their serving a powerful base of special interests, donors, and large corporations. We continue to see people on the opinion spectrum well away from each other on opposing sides. Way on the Left you have Progressive Socialists who have one belief and perspective. Way on the Right you have Conservative Patriots who have quite a different perspective. What we know for a fact is one side aligns with what the Founders of this country believed and established. One side aligns with the Constitution. The other side does not.

    You be the judge.

The unpredictability of these times is maddening. It’s like trying to find Waldo while on a roller coaster doing multiple loops at 90mph. It’s an effort in futility. I suspect this will continue for months and it will be months before we realize the true effect all of this will have on our daily lives – and our future.

    COVID-19

The spreading of COVID-19 continues with the number of cases worldwide increasing daily.

Here are the numbers as of July 9th, 2020:

    Global Confirmed Cases: 12,169,400

    Global Deaths: 552,043

    Global Recoveries: 6,696,392

    US Deaths: 133,106

    US Recoveries: 969,111

    US Active Cases: 2,003,098

    • The number of new cases is spiking as states nationwide continue to relax quarantine restrictions and open. The number of tests are also increasing as testing becomes more readily available. While a correlation of increased testing may be a reason for increased positives, the increased number of hospitalizations shows the significance of the continued spread.
    • Many politicians and medical experts are suggesting to stop the opening of States, or even reverse and begin closing again. Anthony Fauci has suggested States experiencing a significant uptick in cases should seriously consider shutting down.
    • Colorado town threatens a 1-year jail sentence for not wearing masks.
    • Research suggests that antibodies may only last a matter of months.

Commentary: We’ve all seen what has happened up to this point. There is no indication that this is going away. With Fall right around the corner – this 2nd wave, whatever you want to call it – is only going to get worse. Be ready folks.

    PROTESTING/RIOTING/CIVIL UNREST

Protests continue to occur across the nation. Many demand racial justice, the defunding of police, or societal change towards socialism. The removal or destruction of symbols from history continues to be relevant.

Commentary: Civil unrest has spread across the country mainly in larger cities. Violence in the form of vandalism, assaults, and murder is occurring. Anti-police rhetoric continues and has proven successful in some areas as cities reduce funding. Some in law enforcement have quit their jobs in protest – or called in sick which has now been termed the “Blue Flu”.

A radical Black militia of at least 200 people made a stand in Stone Mountain, Georgia stopping white people and demanded reparations. The rise of radical groups such as this and the continued Antifa presence in most major cities is reason for concern. The rising tensions, and additional “sides” being created – is a powder keg ready to explode.

    ECONOMY

The Coronavirus pandemic and it’s effect on the economy continue to be disastrous. While the Fed has relentlessly pumped money into the market to keep stocks from plummeting, millions of Americans have lost their jobs and countless businesses have closed their doors. While many businesses have begun to reopen, they are largely doing so with part-time help, part-time hours, and part-time capacity of establishments.

Commentary: Millions out of work, tens of thousands of businesses closed, civil unrest in cities across America – and a virus that hangs around like Cousin Eddy in Christmas Vacation. The economy is in serious trouble and with the threat of a second wave of closures – the likelihood of an economic collapse grows.

These are times like no other. There are many signs of things to come and for many, the question is not what is going to happen but when.

  • Current Events and the Decline of America – Part #1

Current Events and the Decline of America – Part #1

Mayhem. Violence. Looting. Destruction. Threats. Murders. Curfews. Civil Unrest.

Cities across the United States are burning. Literally.

The wrongful death of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer has lit a powder keg that has exploded. Cities across the nation are dealing with pandemonium as protesting turns into violent, destructive riots.

Cities with major protests/riots include Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Columbia, Denver, Detroit, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Grand Rapids, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York City, Oakland, Phoenix, Portland, Oregon, Raleigh, Richmond, San Antonio, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, St. Louis, and Washington, D.C. Across all these cities protestors are causing mass destruction as vehicles are hit with numerous items such as bricks, bottles, clubs, and flames. Stores are being broken into, robbed, and in many cases set on fire.

Death and injury did not stop with George Floyd’s unfortunate murder. Numerous people have been killed and injured while engaged in rioting – or simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It’s unfortunate, and somehow disturbingly ironic, that the majority of victims are a result of black-on-black violence.

The latest outcry from protestors and those who support them is to defund police. In Minneapolis, a “veto-proof majority of the City Council committed to dismantling its police department“. This same City Council and many others across the nation including elected politicians are stating that police do not keep communities safe. As ridiculous as that may seem historical figures who have traditionally been highly respected are now being vilified as statues and monuments erected in their honor are destroyed under the umbrella of “righting past wrongs”.

    Insanity.

So – in the middle of 2020 the growing division in this country has reached a level that many suggest is the most divisive in US history – including the Civil War. Beyond the violence and tension across America, other potentially catastrophic issues such as $26 trillion in National Debt, a growing Cold War with China, millions unemployed, and…oh, let’s not forget….the second wave of a pandemic waits just around the corner.

    Fantastic.

America – A Bit of History

In the early 1900s, the American people had a feeling of optimism. People had a perspective that anything was possible and the American dream was real. Being self-made, and responsible for your own success was commonplace in people’s thinking. Certainly, everyone did not agree on all issues of the time. Regardless, Patriotism grew in the early 1900s as people felt the American Spirit and all things were possible.

Through two world wars, the American people supported the idea of freedom and fighting evil wherever it showed itself around the world. America served as a beacon of peace and freedom. Citizens from Socialist countries around the world sought the American Dream. They dreamed of freedom and all the opportunities America provides. They loved America and proudly waved the American flag.

The Greatest Generation existed in an era of success, innovation – as well as turmoil as they lived through the Great Depression. They had a tremendous work ethic and due to living through years of economic struggles appreciated what they had. Many of this generation lost loved ones and friends in World War II. They understood, appreciated, and respected sacrifice.

People like those of the Greatest Generation are what made America great. Now – compare them to those today who fret over social justice, climate change, and other “important” issues such as making certain that we use the correct pronoun when referring to someone. Today’s generation has their perspective on issues guided by thins such as feelings – and emotion. Facts and logic no longer are important to those who have a cause which they use to justify their own existence.

    The Decline of America

For more than 60 years America has been in decline and an effort has been underway to change the very fabric of this country. Political corruption and governmental policies have brought populations from rural America and concentrated them into cities. Illegal immigration to a large extent has continued to be allowed to occur and has vastly increased the numbers in the base of the Democratic Party. Why? Power. Even the great Conservative Ronald Reagan was fooled into supporting full amnesty for illegals back in the ’80s. Progressives for decades have written into law policies that have enslaved Black Americans and held them back economically as entitlements disincentivized them to explore their full potential. This was done under the guise of “helping” – and most were completely fooled.

The American people are not innocent in America’s decline. For more than 60 years the Constitution has been slowly shredded and government assumed power over much of our lives where the Constitution provides no authority. Those in government who made laws that expanded authority and grew government well beyond that which the Founders set forth were elected by the people. We are largely to blame.

Corporations and special interests have grown to own the vast majority of elected politicians. The Deep State is a significant power as it secretly influences government decisions and actions to obtain more and more power for those who already have it. Numerous policy changes over the last several decades have weakened the United States. Consider how as a country our level of self-sufficiency in regards to food production, technology, and medical supplies has been decreased to the point we rely on foreign countries for our continued way of life.

    Is There Hope?

Earlier in this article, I provide a mere glimpse of the tremendous accomplishments past generations have made in addition to adversity overcome. Historically I and many others have believed there is no challenge that we as a people cannot overcome. Consider September 12th, 2001. The day after and for many months UNITED WE STAND was the battle cry of the American people who came together in unity against terrorism and fear.

    It didn’t last.

Back in 1984, the American people backed Ronald Reagan for President and he won decisively. America’s Cold War against the Soviet Union was at the forefront of threats and the American people were largely unified behind the efforts to rid Communism from the world. The 80’s with Reagan as President was a time of great hope, prosperity – and Patriotism.

Below shows a state-by-state map of the 1984 Presidential Election Results.

    1984 Electoral College, map, Reagan

Fast forward to 2016 and the election of Donald Trump. One of the most divisive elections in US history. The results shocked the world. Businessman Donald J. Trump won the election against Hillary Clinton even though ALL polling data and the mainstream media had him losing handily. While Trump won the Electoral College and thus the election – he lost the popular vote. Looking at the map below showing how counties across America voted, it would appear the country was largely united behind Donald Trump – I would agree. The popular vote was lost due to the large cities and metropolitan areas where for decades governmental policies moved large populations into concentrated areas.  In many cases, an individual city may have more votes than the entire rest of the state.

    Is there hope?

Yes – but very little. The vast majority of politicians regardless of which side of the aisle they come from are corrupt. This has been proven over and over again for decades as good men(and women) are voted into office and they fail to follow through with the promises they made. While many will say that politics and preparedness have nothing to do with each other I believe facts tell quite a different story. When compiling a threat assessment as part of any preparedness system, one will find that the government at some point had a role to play in many of the listed threats.

So – here we are. We are in the middle of 2020 and living through endless headlines having us wonder what could possibly happen next. While I’m no prophet and predicting the future is certainly an effort in futility, I’ll provide a few thoughts:

    • Antifa and BLM will continue to promote violence and civil unrest in cities across the nation. Every new questionable police interaction will fuel the mob which will no doubt create more victims.  While similar events have occurred before and settled down quickly, this time will be different.
    • Politicians at all levels will take advantage of the discourse to further gain power, votes, and their agenda. Liberal leaders and celebrities will side with BLM and state while violence is not the solution they understand the frustrations and anger.
    • Cities with Liberal leaders will continue to allow destruction and anarchy pulling back law enforcement from holding those accountable for the destruction of public and private property and the violence many carry out.
    • Violence will continue in the cities with little threat to rural America. While there have been statements made to head out of the cities into neighborhoods by BLM and Antifa, it is unlikely this will be carried out in any significant numbers.
    • Trump supporters and “Patriots” who often quote the Constitution and enjoy their guns and Bibles will be called racists, White Nationalists, Fascists, and a threat to America by the mainstream media.
    • COVID-19 is not over and a 2nd Wave – regardless of the true risk and severity – will be major news out of the mainstream media, and Democrat Party. The Trump Administration will be blamed for ALL negativity reported.
    • The stock market will continue its roller coaster ride of high’s and low’s as the countries economic indicators are horrible at best.
    • The economy will keep moving forward for the time being. Some businesses affected by COVID will begin recovering and hiring people back. Other businesses will never reopen and will be gone for good.
    • Food supply streams will be inconsistent as a down growing season in 2019, and COVID-19 economic ramifications have a negative impact on the 2020 farmers’ ability to be profitable.
    • Gun sales will continue at a high pace with many first-time gun owners entering the market.
    • The Presidential Election of 2020: November of 2016 will look like an elementary school field trip in comparison. ‘Nuff said.

Is there hope? As stated – very little. The National Debt will continue to accelerate higher ever-increasing at faster and faster rates. I do not see a path which this is reversible. The division in this country may be irreparable. Possibly some event, some epiphany will bring people together to be unified. I see this as highly unlikely. Possibly the MSM will begin to report the news and investigate in an honorable fashion – with the TRUTH as the main objective. Highly unlikely. Is it possible that Christianity will see a mass resurgence and ethics, morals, and virtues will become mainstream once again. Don’t see it but we can certainly pray.

What can we really do? We can have as much influence as possible. We can spread the word of Freedom. We can educate others on the true history of this country rather than revisionist history being taught in schools today. We can vote for the best candidates from local elections all the way up to national with the HOPE that in some small way a difference will be made.

There are other actions we can take. Other actions we must take.

That will have to wait for Part 2.

  • COVID-19 Data Study: Ammunition Sales Continue to Soar in Response to Coronavirus Panic

COVID-19 Data Study: Ammunition Sales Continue to Soar in Response to Coronavirus Panic

Rourke: The following is an excerpt from Ammo.com. The folks over there not only offer a great selection of ammunition at great prices but also have numerous articles on all things related to Civil Liberties and Freedom. Check out their Resistance Library HERE.

This article leaves little doubt that whenever ANY threat to our way of life occurs, people stock up on guns and ammo.

Updated May 24, 2020: According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), consumer spending drove about 70% of the U.S. GDP in 2019. Where this money goes is another story. As Visual Capitalist’s Iman Ghosh notes, in the first and second quarters of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has initiated a transformation of where consumers spend their money in lieu of widespread shelter-at-home orders.

Here at Ammo.com, our growth in sales has directly correlated with the public’s increasing leeriness of COVID-19.  Starting on February 23, sales began to increase as the search term “coronavirus” gained traction, according to Google Trends. This increase in sales over the past 90 days has continued as follows:

    • 592% increase in revenue
    • 502% increase in transactions
