Prep’s This Week

Just received word that Mark Goodwin has released a sequel to his Days of Noah book series  – The Days of Elijah.  I am really excited to get into this one. Currently only .99 cents for Kindle version.

Last weekend in Georgia was great. Put out a couple of game cams, deer corn, and mounted jars of peanut butter to trees. While there checked out my ATN X-Sight II and tried it out both during the day and at night. For the money – awesome.

Good conversations with my brother. Politics and the world being a major discussion. We also watched the movie “13 Hours“. Watching the movie was frustrating. Afterwards I was pissed. Pissed that those Americans were placed in harm’s way and no help came for them. Horrible – but a must watch.

The tax stamp for my suppressor finally came in. It took 7 months. Will write more later. Looking to pick up a rimfire pistol(like the above picture) to put it on. Excited!

My son and I shot my Crosman 1377 pellet gun. Been meaning to do a review on it. Hopefully soon. One of my favorites.

As an avid air gunner [I’m a 100% disabled Veteran who has a fiduciary, the fed. gov.’t made sure I lost my 2A gun rights] I have several air rifles. one of which is a Crosman 1322 [Backpacker]. I put a new steel breech [from PyramydeAir] & an 18inch barrel [from Baker Airguns] . I had a Air Arms TF90 red dot scope on it, but instead, I’m putting on a set of peep sights for a true crap hits the fan air rifle, to carry in my truck, along with my return home gear.

Thank you for your service Mike and sorry that your rights have been taken away. That is terrible and a disgrace. I cannot imagine the frustration of being in that situation. I suspect that ignoring the Federal mandate would be an option but decisions have to be made and consider the risks.

The word is OPSEC! I do not speak of a lot of my gear, but I do champion the use of air rifles. I have several & like the powder burners they serve a different purpose.
My biggest one is the Hatsan AT44S QE [Quiet Energy] long. It is a .25 cal pcp & uses about 3000psi to send a pellet down range. I have an old skillet about 70 yards off of my back deck & it will punch through it with no problem. I can refill it from a hand pump [it looks like a bike pump], . I also shoot the “gas” spring rifles, as well as a mech. springers & I have a couple of multi pumps [my Crosman 1322 & my Benjamin Model 392 [it is based on the old Sheridan “Blue Streak”] also in .22.

I use the .22’s for small game [rabbits & squirrels & such], my .25’s are for larger game. I got heavy into them after being on the 2013 season of American Airgunners [now on you tube & the Prusit Tv channel]

I also have owned a Yukon [in .22] & really enjoyed it too.

Just watching Mathew. Don’t know what’s it is going to do but the weather guessers don’t either. Will just prep as usual and hope for the best. Gives me something to think about instead of/or along with everything else going on. Everyone stay safe & keep your powder dry.

Gunner – I have been “off grid” for the past several days and just returned and heard the news of the impending storm. As I live in South Carolina I am watching it closely. Going to be interesting.

Mike, check out a Ruger Yukon in .22 cal. 1050 fps and it’s gas piston. It comes with a suppressor on the muzzle.

Was on vacation this week. Spent a day of golf, a day of fishing, a day at the range, and a day pulling out preps and checking out things. The wife and I spent a day canning, freezing and made some jellies and jams. Spent a day cleaning, sorting and rearranging the storage building. Wanted to make things grouped together better in case of bug out situation. Added 380 acp on sale. Found some tarps, string, rope, chain, wire and assorted nails, screws and bolts at a yard sale. Added Days of Elijah, love his books. In Book 7 of 299 Days, enjoying it very much. That is all.

Spent the week doing firearm maintenance (ie cleaning) and going through the totes of webbed gear, holsters & junk, planted some red winter wheat as ground cover ( inside 4 tires) & to harvest in the spring. Laid in another 6ft of firewood for the winter so that gives us about 3 cords ready to go, didn’t get to replacing the chimney cap & cleaning chimney is only thing on list I didn’t get to.

This is just a heads up everyone. But the state of Mo. has classified 27 counties as having CWD [chronic wasting] in our deer population/s & strongly requests that ALL hunters have their deer checked before processing.
