With rising inflation and COVID-related economic suppression preparing on a budget has its challenges. Adding a light to a long gun can cost hundreds of dollars – if you listen to the “experts.”
On one of my AR’s I have a really nice Olight Odin Mini 1200-lumen weapons light. Cost was around $110 on sale. Another I have an Inforce 400-lumen. Cost was about the same. My first AR – a Stag Arms LH model – sports a dropdown mount with a Streamlight Polytac flashlight. Total cost today would run you about $55.

This particular Polytac is no longer made. Today the latest version is much brighter. Here is the link to the latest version.
The flashlight mount is simple and very rugged. It will hold nearly any standard 1″ inch flashlight.
Budget options. Nice to have.

I Use that same low-cost mount. It works great. Use it with an old first generation sure-fire.
