Video: Plans for the Homestead Garden – Spring is Fast Approaching

Here in Central Maine we still have a good amount of Winter left. Hey – we could get a foot of snow next week. Who knows? This upcoming weekend we’ll be starting some seeds indoors to get a bit of a headstart. A lot of planning going on right now. We just got 8 yards of aged composted cow manure and will get some “Super Soil” in a few weeks as well.

Trying to get the homestead moving towards a true “homestead” is a lot of work. While both Maine Prepper Girl and I work full-time jobs we keep heading towards the goal – to be as independent as possible.

Take  care all –

Rourke

That cow manure was a great score! It will help a lot so long as the cows didn’t have hay or straw that ever got sprayed with glyphosate. If it has been sprayed, .. well you will be screwed for years.

Don’t get too excited over a few warm days. Your on the same level as we are here in Montana. The favorite saying here, pertaining to guarding, is:
    “IT AINT JUNE YET”.

I’m putting some green pepper and yellow squash plants in pots. On porch so can move back against wall if I need to.
