Saturday’s – “What on your mind?”

Here is a place to share things you’ve been thinking about lately. What kind of things?

  • Recent accomplishments in preparedness.
  • Projects being worked on.
  • Thoughts on world events.
  • Recent purchases & recommendations
  • Current events related to politics, terrorism, crime – whatever.
  • Go on an adventure or have fun? Share it!
  • Whatever is on your mind….

My turn…..

  • Appreciate the well wishes I have received. Last couple weeks my normal posting routine has not been kept up with and it was noticed. A lot going on and things should be back to normal by mid-week, hopefully.

  • Typically posts are published every night around 9:30pm. I have been thinking of mixing it up a bit after seeing how some other websites do things.  First – the “From the Desk of” could be posted first thing in the morning around 8:00am – or left the way it is and publish each evening. Next – if there is a second post published I was looking at publishing around 3:00pm. The driving force behind all of this is to try to get more traffic to the site. Based on internet user statistic that are researched having a post in the morning(or previous evening) and then one in the afternoon should boost traffic.

Comment below any thoughts and feel free to partake in these poll’s.

  • REMINDER: Paladin Press is closing its doors. They are having a HUGE sale clearing everything out. Good time to take advantage as once they shut down most of their books will no longer be available.

  • I’m in the process of setting up a gym in my garage. I cancelled the gym membership. Picked up a nearly brand new stationary bike for $30. Normally sells for $300. Wifey has a friend with a multi-station machine and some free weights for $200. Planning to get them next week if they look worth it. A few other pieces are planned and hope to have everything in place by 3rd week of December.

Something for you…….a little “prepper humor”

        i mulch them up with the mower pile them to rot. to me they help the soil hold moisture “add lime” to change the PH if necessary;

Working on a reliable way to call home without infrastructure while traveling. I bring a backpack setup and HF SSB works but, only when the band conditions are just right.

    Need something better.

Everything now set up for digital modes. Having great results with PSK-31 and Olivia. Just like texting only over HF radio. Working all over with low power even under bad conditions. Will see how it works on the next road trip.

They have plan with as little as 10 minutes a month for around 29.00. You would only use in an emergency. 29.00 a month not to bad for insurance. You might still have to buy the phone, but some can be had for around 500 to 600.

Added 10 new chickens to the flock. Hatched in September. 7 hens 3 roosters. The roosters should be ready to harvest in three months or so.
Put the potatoes into the root cellar. Up to 19 rabbits, so we’ll be canning some soon. Still adding non-ethanol gas and propane to our stores.
Shot a deer yesterday. We processed and froze it today. Thankfully it got into the 20’s last night so we could leave it hanging over night.
