Something similar happened to us with Wal*Mart. On .com, we saw a telephone for US$100.

We went to the Wal*Mart down the street for a price-match. The clerk looked it up, and told us he could match the $120 price.

We protested since we saw it a few minutes earlier for $100.

The clerk told us this happens all the time. Our interest in the product increased its perceived value, and increased its price.

Rourke, maybe they’re talking about the book recommendations that you put in your newsletter at the end of your email that you say are free? (Just before where the “Related Posts”. By the time I have seen your email about “freebies,” many times by the time I check on Amazon, they aren’t freebies anymore. Just a thought.
