Prep’s This Week

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was very good. Weather has been overly warm. Due to a change of plans hunting was delayed until this morning(Saturday).  Things have been busy as I covert my shed into an extra bedroom and I just now got it empty and most everything into storage.

Posting this upcoming week may be slim due to the shed project.

As far as prep’s this week I put away 500 rounds of 9mm and 80 rounds of .223 Remington. Took advantage of some Black Friday sales. Worked toward completion of my new AR project(more on this later). Picked up a 10,000mAh power pack for charging cell phones and tablets on the go. Started reading the book The Borrowed World. So far really enjoying it.

Checked out a Shield 45 for a second time – I like it.

OK – how about you?

What prepping have you done over the last week?

Was pretty disappointed in the preparedness related sales this year, most of it looked like regular sale prices with pretty colors and big words to make you think otherwise. I was looking for 10.5 or 11.5″ upper but nothing available I could find to begin the AR pistol project at a “sale price”. I picked up some low recoil 12ga buckshot, 1k of 9mm ammo for training next year on black Friday sale found by accident and a Amazon Fire HD. We’ve toned down our preparedness related things for a while, we’re pretty well set on many things – still lacking on the solar backup and some updated gear but overall unless something really big happens/natural disaster we may have a 2 year breathing room. I still think the markets are going to burst causing a mini-depression once the real unemployment numbers and debt comes out once Trump gains office.

My wife’s mother passed away this morning so not a good Thanksgiving for us. We are monitoring the political situation closely watching the hypocritical Democrats and liberal radicals. I have heard Soros is trying to provoke an orange revolution here in America.

Our deepest condolences on your families loss Badger.
Had to look up “orange revolution”, forgot that’s what it had been called in the Ukraine, I can see that happening here easily. Look at how the leftists are acting in the streets now.

Sorry to hear of you loss Badger. May the Lord bring peace to your family.

I was also underwhelmed by the sales this time around. I don’t understand why M-855 green tip is still hovering at the $400.00 per case level? Well, I have plenty but they are like potato chips to me. 😉

I got to have two Thanksgiving dinners this time around. Spent actual Thanksgiving with my cousin and his family. Yesterday, I slow smoked a turkey in my KBQ C-60 for eight hours. Did some sweet potatoes in the cooker with the bird.. A gal I’m seeing was able to make it for the feast so I had a great time.
