Happy Halloween!!! Pay extra close attention to the evil clowns lurking in your backyard….and in your closets.

Interesting that on this day in 1841 Nevada become a state. Also worth noting that on October 31st in 1941 Mount Rushmore was officially completed and in 1984 Indira Gandhi was assassinated .

From the “Like We Need Anything Else To Worry About” Department: Russia has developed a huge ICBM capable of carrying 10 tons of nuclear payload.

I am curious. If Hillary wins what will happen with ammunition, magazine, and gun purchases? Month after month sales records are broken. With that said I suspect that most shooters have bought 90% of what they want/need. Most preppers have already stocked up and spent a ton of money. On November 9th if America wakes up and “President Hillary Clinton” is the headline no doubt there will be some boost – but shortages? I doubt it.

I’ve done well putting back brass and lead as well as a few “boomsticks”. Depending on the results of the election I’ll likely be motivated to do a bit more.

I have been watching the TV series “Containment” on Netflix. Not a bad show. Basically a pandemic breaks out in Atlanta and a quarantine is established.

HUNTING TRIP PLANNED: Thanksgiving morning.

A friend of mine is taking my son and I to the hunting club he belongs to. We’ll be in the woods and in a stand well before light – and stuffing our face with turkey by afternoon.

I personally know of two people who are banking on H.C. winning so they can resell the ammo, magazines and a few firearms once another magazine/assault rifle ban gets put into place. One of the two guys sold 22lr and 9mm at highly inflated prices during the shortage recently, enough to take him & his wife on a couple of cruises. Instead of stacking it deep with mags & ammo, decided to pay off debt and take the gamble.

    Yup .. on Russia
I read a financial analysis of why Russia needs something (Satan 2) that big. Answer: they have enough money for large refactored missiles with multiple reentry vehicles. Whereas the US as more money and can build many and more smaller ones.. Both could deliver HE or Nuclear payloads. It’s what the US has ringed them with so far and why they are pissed. Tit for Tat.. Thing is .. is has according to them superior anti Nuclear avoidance capability. Speed and distance make it nearly unstoppable. That is a concern. It isn’t deployed yet .. and will take a year or more.. So who’s finger and team do you want on the button ? One has been antagonistic one has not .. it’s that simple.

precious metals come in all types don’t they.

Same here on the hunting .. just in Bama.

I personally will be taking the day after the election off to stay home. I travel a long way and into a racially divided city .. nope.. I’ll hang out with the critters and fish .. and have an extra cup of coffee…. and my OMG tons of winter squash and second crop tomatoes.. 🙂

Also on this day 499 years ago today on Oct. 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany that would begin the Protestant Reformation. Luther’s reformation completely changed Christian history. He was the one who made clear that we are saved and justified by grace, and do not need to pay penance to obtain our forgiveness. Prior to his reformation, there was an entire industry of indulgences – forgiveness purchased by price from the priests.

Thanks for sharing that Matt 🙂
Banking on HC winning? If their horse doesn’t come in. They’re still ahead.
*sigh* My gardening is so weak and on it’s final stretch of done. However, what ever I have learned has been big. Most of my gardens have been lasting much more than most people’s, but clearly not good enough. I cannot imagine if my life depended on my garden when it hits the fan…trying to learn then. I’m guessin sadly most will fail if they don’t start trying now.

Capt.Michaels…I hear you on the gardening thing.. Mine is cottage meals at best .. My larger efforts this year failed more than succeeded (for feed and grain)… but this is my first Fall garden that worked, and it has been miserably dry here .. I think if it is all I had to do it woudl be easier from a time perspective.. At best if you work you have 1.5 days a week or less to work it .. My experience is growing as you said .. I try it to succeed, but learn more from the failures.. just like canning and all the other stuff.. Small comfort if you are hungry. I have learned that IF I have critters they produce eggs and or meat.. but the other stuff they leave works really well for plants .. REALLY well .. You of course have to develop a tolerance for the natural fragrances of life.. more like Channel Outhouse than Channel #5. (Coo Channel would be soo unhappy with that statement). I need about 30 hours in a day with the extra 6 well lit .. let me know if you find that place .. sorry off topic I know .. have fun …

Good luck hunting to everyone going out to hunt. I don’t hunt deer much anymore, never acquired a taste for venison. I hunted a lot in my younger days for deer but gave most of the meat away. I can eat spaghetti with venison but not crazy about anything else I have tried. Turkey hunting, I love doing that!
Besides, I want to keep all the deer safe at our get away place, may need them someday for food. I bet I would eat venison in that circumstance!
    Get a big one!

    1. Oren says:

Same here Fred. I used to hunt deer religiously. Then, I just got out of it for some reason. I’ve since had goat meat. Seems to me they taste a lot alike. Thought about raising goats for the meat. Unfortunately, my wife would have each one named. History proves me right. All of the chickens are named and I’ve had a couple die of old age. None will ever see the pot. I guess if we have a SHTF event, we will have to be vegan.

        Oren;
Named chickens .. heh!! .. same here .. and roosters.. I told my buddy down the street (farmer) we should swap roosters and I could kill his and he mine since we didn’t know them 🙂 … My grandpa said you can’t have food and pets be the same animal.. Right after he shot my pet pig in front of me .. no warning.. That is what happens when you grow up hungry as a starving farmer in the depression.. I didn’t so I still occasionally suffer from it .. that and I have enough to eat .. might have something to do with it…
Now that it is cooling off I guess I’ll have to get on with it..

Putting up the last of the tomatoes by way of oven canning after running through the blender. Did a couple batches of pear butter that way and seemed to work well. Afraid we’d be short food if we ate from the garden entirely. Did some later plantings to check out some possibilities-some interesting results. Was checking around the site here at 1776PatriotsUSA, clicking on the link SurvivalBlog.com on Oct 26 a guest post titled “Lessons Learned in Livestock” was up. If you haven’t seen it, it was quite good and made me think of the homesteaders here that raise animals so thought i’d give you all a heads up. (Parts 1/2- Oct 26/27) Made me wish we were on an acreage….the pig breed sounded pretty doable though if you named it- might put a wrench in it.

i don’t want her to win. I have took the pervious lessons of the last 8 years to get what I need/want. I have bought extra mags to sell if she does win. I hope to turn the mags into a new set of thermal. I see no issue in selling at what the markets is. It’s good capitalism.
