From the Desk of John Rourke – January 19th, 2017

You never know what will happen. My next door neighbor – a 30-something mother of two young boys has been diagnosed with colon cancer. She’s been in the hospital of 18 days and it doesn’t look good.

Hate to be a downer but count your blessings while you can.

So what is the value of an old Gameboy, PSP, or other handheld gaming system for a post-grid failure world? How about a battery operated DVD player with screen? I think very valuable. These and other devices such as mp3 players will provide much needed distraction and morale-boosting entertainment.

What amazes me is Miley Cyrus and commit numerous lewd acts and not be considered offensive – but Phil Robertson expressing his 1st Amendment rights is.

Had a request for closer shots of the stippling I’ve been doing. Here you go…..

There are many reasons why so many love their Kindle and Amazon Fire tablets. If it lists a price or says “read for free” or has a price for prime members the book is not free anymore.

If you felt the magazine D. you would understand. Notice the amount of stippled surface area on the sides of the magazines? This is where most of the gripping takes pace and if I stippled the raised areas that would be less surface area to create the impact.

Thanks for all the books rourke, I try to skim every week or so for the free information, but usually fail to find time, or just forget, thanks to you my library is growing!

JR, what type of tip did you use for the stippling ? I’ve always been interested in doing this. Thank you. Stay safe and be careful.

    1. JR says:

I used a standard “point” tip that came with the wood burning kit I bought. There are several different tips available and even more on ebay. Still practicing to see how different patterns look and feel.

Rourke- you are not being a downer just a realist. We all take decent health for granted yet in a moment it can be radically altered. If you provide the womans first name I willl pray for her and her family. Spent he day at the VA with my husband-so many folks are fighting serious health issues yet they mostly have a good attitude and are thrilled that Trump is our President. We will be watching tomorrow and praying for his safety.
