There is no doubt that EMP is one of the most popular reasons people prepare. Over the last several years movies and TV shows have caught on and used such an event to tell a story. When I was active on Facebook I knew of several prepper discussion groups that did not allow EMP as a topic. Why? Because of the misinformation relayed and the arguments that would take place. Admins and moderators would have to get involved and it would become one giant pain in the arse. Much like COVID, there is much misinformation spread around as facts, and people get extremely defensive if an alternative belief is suggested.
Can’t we just all get along? Sometimes.
Historical events related to solar flares have been used to “prove” a variety of “facts”. The EMP Commission released a report back in 2004 which has been used to prove arguments on both sides of issues with the vast majority taking information out of context. Good information was communicated in this report, unfortunately, the Federal government has failed to properly react.
So – what’s the truth?
There are basic steps that can be taken to prepare in case of an EMP or solar flare regardless of the controversy. We’ll discuss this in an upcoming post.

Granted an emp from whatever your favorite source [man-made or natural] is gonna be devatistng, but what is coming makes that look like a church choir practice in comparison. If you have paid any attn to the vids I share on the MeWe feed you would see a planet/pole shift [this happen every 12,000 years (and when was this, the last ice age)] 3-mile tall tsunamis with flooding 600 miles from any of the coastlines, earthquakes in the 9.0+ Richter scale, then followed up with a new ice age..With the freezing happening so fast, living organisms will be flash-frozen [we are finding mammoths with food undigested in their mouths & digestive tracks, wolf cubs flash frozen in their dens, etc…]
so whatever you think man kind can do to this planet, pales to what nature can & has done in the past.
IMO and EMP has the potential for the most serious impact upon “life as we know it”. It could be sudden, impact great numbers of people, with little to no warning. Most of us can not imagine life without electricity, and many will not live without it’s life sustaining uses.
That being said, with a little judicious planning, it is possible to plan alternatives and survive well.

Mike Suchman, I see an ice age coming and I can only pray it not a major one as we would see mass devastation and loss of life all over the planet. The U S would be unrecognizable due to land loss and with night of water I think we might see the return on the inland sea that once occupied the middle of the country.
