Hurricane Irma is currently a Cat 4 and latest tracking has it bearing down on southern Florida. This looks to be a big one. Still quite a ways out it could go anywhere including to the Carolina’s and even northward out to sea.

MidStateFirearms.com has Black Nitride M16/AR15 bolts on sale for $66.99. This is a fantastic deal and I have one riding in my AR pistol “Venom”. I’ve shot well over 1,000 rounds with no issues at all. Use promo code “1776” and the price drops to $60.29.

Recently checked out the HK VP9SK. Very impressed. For a smaller pistol, it had a very nice grip and feel.◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊

Although I’ve lived through two catagory 4 hurricanes, (actually they said charley was a cat 5 on every tv channel as the island I was on began to submerge below water) lost everything I owned in charley, and Wilma decide my 24′ boat looked better in my kitchen than in my back yard, I still can’t prey for it to not hit here, if it doesn’t hit here it will hit someone else right, I mean there is always the chance it will just go out to the ocean and dissipate, but with what I watched in Texas, and how the storm reacted to the high pressure systems to the east and too the west, I think there is little doubt it’s not going to hit the United States, with all the suffering I’ve seen on the news in Houston, I go back to my original thoughts, how can I pray for it to not hit here, could you imagine if this storm went to Houston? Those poor people are already devistated, so if I could chose, if I pray for it not to hit, I will pray for it not to hit Houston!
We must be neighbors Clark. Charley tore my house up pretty bad and then Florence which was a very wet storm arrived a week later. I had water pouring out of thee ceilings in five rooms plus the garage. We just suffered the worst flooding last week I have seen here in Lee Country since I moved here in 1975. This monster storm Irma has my anxiety levels very high. I wish you thee best of luck and for you and your family to stay safe. We all need to day prayers for all to get through it safely. No water in any of thee stores as of yesterday. I guess that means that people are taking it seriously.
Clark, a prayer for it to stay out to sea can’t hurt.
Rourke- wow great photo !! Irma has just been upgraded to Cat 5.Florida is now in a state of emergency-officially-
Prayers to all in her path. Lightning
Cat 5 now with winds of 180 mph
….the news has not mentioned your CURRENT saturation in Florida CaptTurbo, so i am thinking most people don’t realize. In TX LA the rescues are done and the rain is over…even the piles of debris as shown don’t portray the months/years of agony/hard work to come. Unless you have lived/worked/struggled through flooding, it’s easy to go back to your life business as usual. It is overwhelming to think of the Irma repercussions…i’m with JohnP…hope and pray it unexpectedly stays out at sea.
The “news” doesn’t know it’s butt from it’s elbow and if they actually thought they were reporting the truth on something they would hold the story for editing before releasing it to change that. I’m in the camp of prayer for the storm to go out to sea but each update seems more dire. The islands it is passing now are getting a 20 foot storm surge. If it gets into the Gulf and hooks north into us as is predicted we will have a massive storm surge. I am just under ten feet here.
