From the Desk of John Rourke – October 16th, 2017

Went out of town Sunday to the Virginia Creeper Trail. The trail starts at a high elevation and you ride a bike down 17 miles through the mountain right near part of the Appalachian Trail.  We took our time and really enjoyed it. There are rest areas and even a restaurant that serves incredible chocolate cake.

The leaves are changing colors and the temperature in the mid-60’s at the start was very nice.

Here are a few pictures:

Beautiful ! Nothing like The Lords Creation to refresh us !! Today my daughter and I
hiked in our woods and put up new posted signs and cleared some brush from the trails. It was warm and beautiful -falling leaves and scurrying wildlife… brought back memories of my husband and me and our children riding ponies and dirt bikes and hiking and target shooting…autumn is so gorgeous ! I’m with you on the heading down verses going back up. That’s why I would be on one of my duel-sport motorcycles so I could smile and enjoy nature both ways! Such a beautiful place!
