Good kayaking weather almost here. Can’t wait to get on the river.

Spent some time last night on YouTube with my 18 year old showing him some 80’s and 90’s music videos. Pretty cool. He actually had some appreciation for the tunes.

Plan to place a S&W M&P9 2.0 on layaway for the summer. I’ve mentioned the 2.0 several times before and it’s going to happen – eventually. Should be a Fall testing project.

The recent suggestions on topics for the website were great. One thing I know for sure I’ll be doing is covering more of the basics of preparedness. Traffic is up and no doubt some newer preppers are visiting and could use the information.

Have a great weekend and stay safe!
There are many reasons why so many love their Kindle and Amazon Fire tablets. One huge advantage is you could literally go years without every buying a book to read as there are tons of free eBooks available. Don’t have a Kindle or Fire? No problem. There are apps that can be installed on most any cell phone or computer for free. No excuses!
Today’s Freebies
Martial Arts: Behind the Myth’s
Baby Steps to Backyard Chickens
NOTE: If you see a free preparedness eBook that you’re interested in get it now. Prices change often and there is no way to tell how long the book will remain free. Before purchasing a free Kindle book on Amazon make certain the book is still free by making sure the price is $0.00. If it lists a price or says “read for free” or has a price for prime members the book is not free anymore.
Right, right!
– I signed up for the free prepper books under one of my other pseudonym names. Muahhaaha. I mean..just to keep spam down :o)
– Bro..let me tell you. I made sure to take time out and cover the, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s with my kids this past summer. I played YouTube videos from a lot of artist. Like Cyndi Lauper,(nut case), but she can sing. I played videos of her singing live and other artists. Then compared that music to the stupid music out today. My kids said they could see/hear the difference.
I played all genres of music. Classic rock, Big band music, Jazz, even David Lee Roth/Van Halen, ZZTop, hair band Motley Crue, A-ha, one hit wonders like Flock of Seagulls, etc, etc. Anyway, they loved all of them. In fact a comment from one of the 80’s songs, a 19 year old said he wished they still played music like that.
– Yes, summer is upon is. I agree, time to get Outside! I’m actually really looking forward to it with renewed enthusiasm this year. So motivated am I..even with what little time I had. I signed up for men’s softball. 🙂
– You know, that’s a good suggestion. I completely went brain dead not realizing I can put a rifle or what not on layaway and slowly pay it off. Instead of trying to come up with the cash at once. Thank you for pointing that out.
Have a great weekend everyone. Be safe, be aware, but enjoy the day. Oh, here’s a funny commercial for the weekend. By the way..He lives here in Texas with us. And is a prepper also.

Thanks Rourke for the time you invest in all of this. I know many are blessed by the information. Several I have sent your way have truly appreciated all of it. The ebooks will help me develop a bigger library for sure. Investing time with the kids is so very important. Like investing in the Bible, church and the Lord – can’t be beat! – Keep Looking UP
Thanks, JBernDrApt. I just received a blow regarding the ebook website. Found out that Amazon seriously restricts having a website that posts nothing but free ebooks. Now I am trying to figure out how to adapt. I can do it but if traffic grew too high it would be a problem.
Ever thought about a “deal of the day” section where subscribers can uploads deals and specials we find?
Like the Aldi freeze dried fruit you posted. It was around $5 cheaper than the 196 oz. can from Emergency Essentials.
Good idea. Will have to think about how I do that. Those could be in response to a “Prep’s This Week” post I used to do.
Hmmm……
Any thoughts everyone?
