One of my goals for 2017 was to shoot every month. I’ve been destroying that goal as I have gone at least 6 times since January. Heading to my brothers this weekend and will definitely get some trigger time in.

Although not a strict preparedness item I had an issue with my glasses a few days ago. While driving to work one morning the left lens just fell out. Yup – I had a screw loose(no jokes!) and suddenly my vision was weird, to say the least. I pulled into a parking lot – and grabbed one of the THREE pairs of extra glasses I had in the Jeep. Yes – three. Two pairs of regular and one pair of sunglasses.
While most people have no backups I know just how valuable glasses are to me thus I keep extra’s around – just in case.

Have a great weekend everyone!!! Let’s hope Lightning doesn’t get completely covered in snow up in New York as it piles up!
There are many reasons why so many love their Kindle and Amazon Fire tablets. One huge advantage is you could literally go years without every buying a book to read as there are tons of free eBooks available. Don’t have a Kindle or Fire? No problem. There are apps that can be installed on most any cell phone or computer for free. No excuses!

Canning & Preserving for Beginners
NOTE: If you see a free preparedness eBook that you’re interested in get it now. Prices change often and there is no way to tell how long the book will remain free. Before purchasing a free Kindle book on Amazon make certain the book is still free by making sure the price is $0.00. If it lists a price or says “read for free” or has a price for prime members the book is not free anymore.
I’m only getting an eye exam every 2 years, and the change is always so slight (only have an astigmatism) that I can use the last 2 prescriptions in a pinch as well. so I have at least 6-8 pairs stashed various places. Including the old safety glasses provided by my employer at no add’l cost to me.
The weaither has kept me from changing a bad hub on my 4wd for the last week. taking a 1/2 day today to finally do it as it’ll be in the 40’s with no precip. and minimal wind. I’d rather be cold than cold and wet!
I have to get my eyes examined yearly….same thing. No change, but at my age (70), it’s advisable. But to the point, my glasses or the prescription, is essentially the same all the time. The pair I currently have are probably 10 years old. Only wear then when I read some things, not all. My eyes, believe it or not, improved markedly when I retired. I no longer had to sit in front of a computer screen for hours on end every day.
By the way. There sure is a lot of talk about war with North Korea. It’s probably going to happen and it is going to be a major bloody conflict. Probably is needed to remove a psychopath from power, but hate to see it come to that due to the loss of life in South Korea, Japan and our troops.
Trigger time is happy time. When we moved down here from Colorado, the realtor was showing us our rural house and I asked “can I shoot out here?”
She stopped, turned around, and looked at me like I was stupid and said “son, you’re in Loosiana. Yes, you can shoot!”
And so, the steel on the back acre gets warmed up a couple times a week.
Remember the twilight zone episode? Poor guy.
Rourke-thanks.We received 34 inches of the cold powdery ,very slippery, white snow.It sounds crazy but I love snow-its better than ice.Its a miracle that so much accumulates considering how tiny snowflakes re-then of course by day three and the third storm we are ready for spring!!! I will get my daughter to help me send some photos. It did take many hours to clear the snow from our very long driveway and yard/barnyard areas. Still shoveling out the walk ways as the snow slides off the metal roof .Tomorrow I must shovel out the mailbox or the postal carrier cannot get to it.For the first time that we remember in 42 years the U.S.Mail was not delivered and we were glad as it was really dangerous.
A county away they received 48 inches ( 4 ft) .Those grocery stores were still out of many items today and theres another storm coming tomorrow-but only a few inches. So much for the 3 day supply -two major routes were closed to all traffic for two days so deliveries were delayed. There were people waiting in the grocery stores for the trucks to be unloaded today.
Yes we also carry extra eyeglasses.
Oren I sense you are right on re N Korea. My theory is that N Korea and Russia and China
are trying to draw us into war and our military sources will be divided and it will be costly physically and financially.
Good night all- Lightning
I love snow like you Arlene. Wow – so much. Stay safe!
