Colonial Pipeline Disruption

OK, folks, we’ve seen this before. Remember Katrina? Fuel disruptions to a specific area of the country? Gas prices surge upwards and supply runs low? Demand skyrockets due to the mainstream media telling everyone there will be gas shortages? Yes. The news has to sell their stories to gain viewership and in turn, people freak out and go out and overbuy fuel causing a shortage.

Yes – I’m included.

Knowing that people will create a shortage out of fear I went out and topped off the gas tanks.

This is temporary. They will get everything back online and supply will flow as it did before. Colonial is estimating fuel will begin flowing at the end of the week. As preppers, we should be prepared for these types of events so when they occur we make adjustments and keep going. No big deal, right?

If you don’t have a few gas cans set back go ahead and handle it now. Yeah – a couple of weeks ago might have been better but do it now. Gas cans are still available if you look. Other containers will work as well even though they may not be “red.”  Even if it is mid-next week this is not the apocalypse we all have been prepping for.

Logical and commonsense preparing. It’s what we do. If the zombies start moving through the streets searching for brains to eat – well, we will be better off than most everyone else.

Found out our worthless governor “Do As I Say Not As I Do” Cooper signed an emergency order on the fuel shortage, not sure what it will affect.
Went and got 15 gallons to put back in storage, my area still looks ok, the gas station wasn’t over crowded, going to buy more fuel cans if I can find them and top them off.

  2. arlene says:

My adult daughter said I would not be surprised if our gov. did this to make people
become less dependent on fossil fuels but even electric cars need energy. Friends in NJ have already said gas stations are empty now, — and of course prices are soaring even before there is a real shortage.
Time to go back to horse and buggy and small town living again.
Our son works at a college RPI that is known for scientific and tech wizards and he was told to go home today as they had a cyber hit .No finals were given today- sounds like an inside student job to me-grin !! Arlene

  3. JP in MT says:

It’s one of the reasons we when from 1/2 tank fill ups to 3/4 tank fill ups. It’s also time to rotate the gas cans for the ATV we use in the summer.

  4. The Suspicious Sheltie says:

Already have stations running dry out here.
I was out and about early afternoon, all was good. By this evening, prices had jumped 20 cents a gallon, and stations were empty.
    About 6 hours had passed.
I wonder if ‘the man’ did it, as covid is starting to run out of steam, and they are going to need a new way to keep us penned up at home. Take away the guzzoline, and nobody is going anywhere.

  5. Normal Chuck says:

Our enemies have whole armies of hackers working day and night to hurt America in
    any way possible.
It is probably wishful thinking but if we and our allies used available technology to
identify, locate and kill the hackers it would at least send a lethal message.

Get Israeli Intelligence to help. They are very good at what they do and don’t balk when it comes to remove bad actors from the show. They never quit.

  6. JohnP says:

John and Normal, I have to agree with both of you. My way of thinking is backing out systems in this country is an act of war and needs to be treated as such.

    bb,
    Good point.
I wonder how long the squatters in Palestine would last if Americans terminated our welfare to them.
I know I could use the free no-strings-attached us$278,000 per person annual foreign-aid we hand-out to them to keep their ‘country’ from collapsing!
    How about you?
Since 1948, at least two trillion American dollars in free hand-outs to a bunch of strangers?
Keeping that amount of money at home could do a lot for our crumbling infrastructure…

They have zero-zero-zero friends, they create new enemies hourly.
Any ill wishes against them is a direct result of their xenophobia.
Their alleged history is filled with wars against everybody not them, battles against everybody not them, invasions against everybody not them, enslaving everybody not them.

    Ask any counselor:
    * If the same results keep happening, what is the common denominator?
    * Who is at the center of the string of dramas?
