Frequent discussions are had all over social media, internet forums, and gun shops around the country about ammunition prices and availability. My stance is prices are up, supplies have largely recovered, and they will never return to our previous “normal” levels. The same can be said for steak, gas, and many other items. At one time I was buying aluminum-cased 9mm for less than $9.00 per box and brass-cased for a dollar more. Memories…..nothing more than….memories……
We all know about inflation and supply chain issues. The demand for guns and ammunition has plummeted recently and prices have dropped as well. Best price I’ve seen on brass-cased 9mm over the past couple of years is $289.99 for a case of 1,000 rounds. This works out to be $14.50 for a box of 50. Today – this is a very good price.
A gun without ammo is like a flashlight with no batteries, a grill without steak, and a potato without butter. Just doesn’t make sense.
As prices have come down and availability improves keep stocking up. There’s going to be a point down the road where events transpire that cause ammunition to increase dramatically. I’ll probably still wish I bought more, but, I’ll be glad I got what I did.

If I had a nickel for every time I thought to myself “wish I had bought more ammo” I’d have enough nickels to buy all the ammo I wanted…..
Never enough… that’s where I stand on buying ammo…
I’m afraid your right John, I think dementia man has damaged this country badly and it will get better, but never where it was and it will carry deep wounds forever.
If we can get Conservative Rep. in this election and take back the White House in 2024 -it will take time but we can become prosperous again .
Ammo here is available for common guns-hard to get for the big guns.
Australia has lost their spring crops due to frost and cold.
Stocking up on ammo and food is always wise as you advise Rourke.
Cracked corn ( for animals ) used to be $8. then $9. -$10. per 50 lbs.It is now $15.00 -I had to stop buying it .

Been researching latest ammo production estimates….great news the ramp in ammo is finally starting to saturate the market, and in turn right now I am seeing major sales starting to increase. This is a positive indicator that prices should come down somewhat, the unknown is how much of a bite is going to happen due to inflation, thanks to the loser in chief and his rabble.
