Communism has been feared in the United States since World War I. An acceleration of this fear occurred through the 40’s and into the 1950’s as many believed that communism would spread and infiltrate the United States. Although history shows that communism declined as a domestic concern and was eradicated internally by the end of the Cold War, many believe that a communist agenda remained behind the scenes all these years.
Look – I’m not a conspiracy theorist nor do I have a very large inventory of tin foil hats. I will say that my mind has opened to many things that just 5-10 years ago I would have called ridiculous.
