One of the most important preps is water. No doubt you’ve heard that you can’t survive longer than 3 days without water. We have a well and are set up with both a manual pump and a battery-operated one as well as backups. Regardless – I’m going to put a few cases of water back.
Why not? Right?
In today’s hard economic times, everyone should put back some water. Take a look at the screenshot below. Less than .14 cents per bottle when buying the 40-count case. 14 cents!!!
Yeah, I know. Plastic is bad and microplastics will kill you. So won’t dying of thirst…LOL.
If you need to stock up on water this is a way pretty much anyone can afford.
Rourke
thanks for the heads up on this. you can’t have to much water!
Very welcome Scout!
I went with a Berkey system so water is not a concern. I could take it from lakes, ponds, or ditches and have much purer water than in those jugs and at a fraction of the cost over the life of the system.
Hi CaptTurbo – I have a Berkey as well as a couple other similar systems. The bottled water is simply a piece of the puzzle as far as water supply goes. I can grab a bottle and hand it to someone or grab a bottle and wash something. The immediacy of availability among other positive aspects of a few cases put away make it worth it – at least to me.
We have a good supply of store bought water but in addition we use
two liter pop bottles that I use for my Cowboy Cocktails.(Old Crow&Coke)
and quart club soda bottles that the Mrs.uses for her Scotch&Soda.
She claims to be more sophisticated than me.I don’t know about that.
Does anyone know what has become of Prepperwebsite.com??
Chuck – appreciate you sharing.
Prepperwebsite.com – from what I can tell I believe the owners(was sold several months back) was moving the website to a different hosting provider and something went wrong. That is a guess on my part.
one thing is that the Berkey, sawyers and others wont filter chemicals or radiation, so bottled or any type of stored water is a good backup.
just be sure to rotate it like anything else.
Storing water is always a good idea no matter how well you are prepared.
