There is an effort underway for California to secede from the Union. The movement is in its infancy.

Here is an interesting and informative video regarding the North Korean efforts in developing their nuclear arsenal. It is a bit aged as they now have a nuclear ICBM based on very recent tests.

Trump has made a statement he will not allow transgender people to serve in the military in any capacity.

More news…..Iran is planning another attempt to launch a satellite into space.

Many out there who have given up on preparedness or slowed their efforts to an almost crawl fail to realize the threats that exist daily.

Cyberterrorism continues to be a major threat. The electric grid could be taken down by determined individuals via several main substations. It would take quite a coordinated effort but it is possible. A solar flare could create havoc with our communications systems as well as the national grid. The financial system could collapse due to any number of reasons.

Worst of all: Elizabeth Warren could be elected President. Oh my!

The corruption in the DNC is massive. Hillary’s servers, smashed phones, destroyed hard drives, leaked questions trying to keep Bernie from getting the nod, a few dead people with questionable ways of how they got that way, etc.

Now this.

California is losing businesses hand over fist and they have asked for financial help.. It’s a hollow threat.
NK is stupid and dangerous ..a bad combination.
Iran’s space vehicle is about launch vehicles that can be weaponized.. not about space. But avoiding NK’s recent threats.
Quite right, we have fragile infrastructure because we give aw3ay money to things that could be used for hardening infrastructure. It’s not even advance tech.. but it costs money. Don’t stop prepping… There is to much possible. Worst case you can use some in the church food pantry. Charity should not be about the state.. We the people can solve system abuses at the individual level .. government is to PC to do that.
Keep digging .. find it all, but don’t be too surprised that some of it is on the pubs too.

Texas? We’re just fine. For those of those that remember MSO or other postings I put about the “Republic of Texas” 😉

When Texas started receiving calls from other countries to store gold in our bank depository after announcing we would be building one. Yes, other countries stating their gold would be safe in Texas. Texas Bullion Depository Bid Winner Has Been Announced in June.

Oh, did I mention we are not part of the National Power Grid? That’s right, We have our own power here. God Bless Texas. 🙂

at the end of the article it SOUNDS like they don’t want to give Texas it’s own gold. Unless they jump though hoops for admission to the “club” Chicago Merchantile.

          1. Capt.Michaels says:

Welllll…..since you brought it up..heh. I’m sure all of us in this community are well aware of the rumor that the gold’s been gone for some time under the streets of Manhattan.

For example; when Germany asked for it’s gold back a few years back the US said no. “Because there isn’t any left in NY? hmmmm” Eventually, they did get it back. Is it because they had to melt some more first? 😉

Either way, they must legally give our gold back or Texas will them which hoop to put somewhere..lol

Deep state being what it is, lets say you have three shells and all of them are supposed to have gold under them. In reality you just keeping moving the one that does around so only looks like they all do .. hmm
            Lets extend that thought..
They can’t give back what they don’t have and it destroys or damages their liquidity, and their ability to settle Intl debt in either SDR/BRIS/USD. Then to hide that they will have a complicated legal argument for why they legally cannot transfer gold UNTIL said hoops have been jumped. (kicking the can further down the road).. which is time.
And you’ve been paying them 1 mill a year to store nothing, worse something they used elsewhere that belongs to you.
You speculate that it is NOT there and you show up with a court order to lay hands on it even it is can’t be transferred. And it’s your turn to see the one pea to build your confidence that the pea is there.
Tejas can say .. fine .. truck is out side .. give it up.. OR tell everyone not all that glitters is gold.
Now you want to talk about the financial crisis ?
Paper printed that has no banking (post 1965), was ever only going to end in one way. A market failure/reset. Now lets talk about government checks, military and freeloaders, social security and medicaid. On you bank account and a buy in .. and your 401K becoming a .401K.
No they don’t have to give it back I’m afraid. But Texas has very good leverage and can blow the whistle if they are willing to take down the world.
folks better prep their little hiney-buns off guys

And yet the fake “news” networks are still sitting on the story about the goat humpers trying to flee and the smashed hard drives.

  3. JAS says:

If California wants to secede, so be it. Pull all of our national resources, military etc out emediately. Any state that wants to pull out should get a taste of what it will be like. No military, no federal money and no protection. Hell , let Mexico have them back. Most of them are wet backs anyway.

    1. goingray58 says:

Well yeah for most of what you said … There is a one big thing they can use against us .. and w do not want Mexico to have. The western ports. We should sell them protection for the ports, for access to them. Sounds like mafia.. but still

  4. jh says:

Weird.. when the people in the north wanted to split from Cali and form State of Jefferson they were called right wing radicals, anti-gov’t wackjobs and such. But now that the liberals want cali to seceded it’s brave and forward thinking. If they’d split, they’d sell the ports and resources to the highest bidder – most likely China and then China will have a established foothold on CONUS because they’d have to bring ships and planes to help protect their investments from a invasion of the US because Cali won’t have any military outside of their State Guard.

What’s worse is that the California liberal left is infecting Texas and other conservative states like a plague running unchecked.

Those who have stopped prepping are the truly blind, they prepped out of political fear now are in a euphoria that everything is alright. Just like the liberals during O’s terms, everything was alright but now that their guy/mentality isn’t in office they are in fear for their lives. Those who prep out of political fear are the most misguided.

  5. Brad M says:

We are definitely in a buyers market for preparedness gear and supplies. The only thing that is more expensive these days is the bug out location. Real-estate is at a 10 year high right now. I think only those of us who are serious about being prepared for bad times are the only ones not either selling off preps, or not taking advantage of the low pricing. Since it was 2008 when our housing market took a dump, is anyone else thinking that the 10 year cycle is about to come about again? Maybe it’s just me.

    1. goingray58 says:

In the south east we really haven’t seen a jump in the price of rural unimproved land that I have looked over what I bought in 2006 , but that is a regional effect at times I suppose.
I suppose some preppers are lulled into reducing inventory, and certainly the mania for “the sky is falling” has lessened after the election.
But prepping isn’t just SHTF/TEOTWAWKI.. right ? Tornadoes, earthquake, fire Job loss are just a few benefits of having things on hand.
The oxford English dictionary has a rather unflattering definition of pepper. as “a person who believes a catastrophic event is likely to occur”.. I expect better of them.
Then there is this one that I agree with more
      Etymology
      Noun[edit]
      prepper (plural preppers)
1.A survivalist; one who actively prepares for emergencies.
It seems most accurate or in-line with what we talk about most. There ar certainly fringe elements on both ends of the spectrum. But the vast majority are not that way.
My grand father would fit right in having lived through the depression, but he called what he did farming. He worshiped, grew his food, canned and conserved raised a family and cared for his wife and family well after he passed away. All thins he did with little or no thanks and no recognition or fanfare at all. He was a gray man. but as I said he just called it being a farmer. Just some thoughts.
