Japan is reportedly sending destroyers and other warships to join up with American military ships that are heading towards North and South Korea. Trump has also called for a full Senate security North Korea briefing at the White House which is extremely rare.

Dryer lint and vaseline one of the best fire starters. Been using this combo for starting firepits for years.

I’ve found I have an infatuation with power packs – almost as bad as with flashlights. I have numerous backup power packs of different sizes. Mostly these are used for cell phone and tablet charging. Once in a while, I plug in one of my rechargeable flashlights to one of them.

I’ve had good luck with this battery power bank. I have two of them and they have stood up to a lot of use.

These things are great for charging cell phones while hiking or on vacation where access to a power outlet is limited.

There are many reasons why so many love their Kindle and Amazon Fire tablets. One huge advantage is you could literally go years without every buying a book to read as there are tons of free eBooks available. Don’t have a Kindle or Fire? No problem. There are apps that can be installed on most any cell phone or computer for free. No excuses!

    Dryer lint and Vaseline? I had no idea. I was using steel wool packs, but I will start saving dryer lint. It’s free and always tons of it. I did a quick little research and it “appears” as though cotton balls soaked in Vaseline light quicker. However, dryer lint is free.

    Oh boy, my wife already gives me grief over the flashlights since you got me hooked on those..heh. Sigh,hopefully that won’t happen with these. I gave up on knives. I got my main everyday carry knife, tactical hatchet, and my fighting K-bar. So I’m good with knives now. Got enough of the little ones everywhere else.

    I’m going to have to start trying these battery packs. I’ve been real curious about those and will start with your recommendation. I went ahead and bought one following your link.

    Yup Vaseline works..
    I use the left over chaffing cans (like the old canned heat cans). They are free at events they just toss em. I alternately pack a layer of vaseline or Hand sanitizer and cotton balls until full. Reinstall the top and put a piece of pack tape across the top to seal from evap. You can scoop out a plop for a fire or you can set the whole can for long very hot fire.. It’ll boil a turkey fryer of water in less than 10 minutes.. Then drop the top on it and smother it when done. Clear hand sanitizer burns perfectly clear. No yellow or blur flame by itself. I tied it .. it took a couple day for the signe to heal. You can’t see anything except from the side you can see the heat waves.

    I use the Anker 28,600 maH.. it has dual change and QOS for quick charge .. for the price I have been very pleased. It will change 4 phones and an ipad with juice left.
    Very durable. Fits well and secures in a mag pouch as well .. so molle it wherever you want. all dull black (not shiny)

    NK and Japan .. clearly an escalation .. when is the last time China, Japan and the US work together ? I really hope that cools down.. the fat boy says he will do a monthly test launch.. could be bad.
