North Korea’s rhetoric and threats to turn the United States to ashes has lead to President Trump stating that “if China is not going to solve North Korea, we will.”

Next week I’ll be somewhat “off grid” and there will be no “From the Desk…..” posts. I’ll still have some posts scheduled and will be checking comments and email periodacally.

There are many reasons why so many love their Kindle and Amazon Fire tablets. One huge advantage is you could literally go years without every buying a book to read as there are tons of free eBooks available. Don’t have a Kindle or Fire? No problem. There are apps that can be installed on most any cell phone or computer for free. No excuses!

Today’s Freebies

Off the Grid – Underground #1: A Black Ops Story

Soap Making: A Quick Guide

Survival Tactics

NOTE: If you see a free preparedness eBook that you’re interested in get it now. Prices change often and there is no way to tell how long the book will remain free. Before purchasing a free Kindle book on Amazon make certain the book is still free by making sure the price is $0.00. If it lists a price or says “read for free” or has a price for prime members the book is not free anymore.

I don’t believe MSM much but I do about NK. Like Castro, those guys have outwitted us for decades, problem being we don’t want to incinerate millions of civilians. They seem most likely to hit us with an EMP but the little fat guy has not been suicidal to this point. We may wake up one morning and find we’ve bombed the hell out of it.

as for the vehicle; I like “Naval Jelly” For rust. good luck on the vehicle. also wiping down the frame with some of the oil from a oil change slows rust on it.

Doing some minor rust work I used Rust-Oleum 215215 Rust Reformer before touch up paint. It has really helped in stopping future rusting. but alas the rocker panels under each door is starting to go. I didn’t get to it in time with the bed liner so the rust is starting to bleed though. Also, if you can, put in a cone air intake filter and dump the air box that comes with them. It gives the engine a lot more air and better performance.

    On NK Nukes..
Soo they have a couple missile types .. none of which have MIRV capability. Thier land based can’t get close to the US .. if on an out island .. maybe Alaska or Hawaii distance wise They’ve only successfully tested 10 Kiloton warhead. That is 1/2 as large as Fat Man dropped on Nagasaki … Call it a smallish city killer .. They have less than 20 delivery vehicles of any kind combined .. near as we know..
That leaves sub based missile, which could theoretically get closer.. They have one nuc sub (the Gorae – Whale at 2000 tons) about to launch or just launched .. that has one, maybe two sail based cold launch silos on board that can possibly launch a Pukguksong-2 eventually (not yet tested) .. No MIRV so max of two warheads for that sub of 10 KT each .. max.. as of today. Launched on the west coast it the could get as far as the middle usa (4000 -5000 km)… we have that Sub under observation 24×7 and know when it is loaded and with what (nothing large than a baseball goes on board unknown)… This is from all the research I can find .. nut wool gathering. He could bloody a nose .. but NOT bur the US to ashes .. not even close. IF he launches we’ll know in time to defend anywhere but California likely.. unless he comes to the east coast…. neither of which he can do without us knowing and out subs engaging.. Our mid range nuke sub is about 10 times larger with about 20 times more firepower on board.Maybe he is nuts .. and maybe he woudl do something. He could do it once (maybe 2 successes vs 30-40 failures up to feb 2017).. then that end of Korea woudl cease to exist except as a memory and glowing stone..
most of it is noise.. Is he a problem .. Yes.. because he is unstable and deluded.
Just a little perspective .. I had to go look it was pissing me off not knowing.
soooo.. Have a better day! 🙂

I like the Jeep story better… yup .. more fun and good memories later

Good to know about NK. My son lives in LA and is not a prepper so I always get nervous about the little fat guy.

You’re right, vehicle is better story, have used both naval jelly and rustoleum with good results on old rusted little red wagon.

    2. JR says:

North Korea’s bomber inventory consists mainly of II-28 bombers which are very old. These bombers have a maximum range of 1740 miles. The United States is more than 5000 miles from North Korea. With a maximum speed of 550 mph it would take more than 9 hours for North Korean bombers to reach the coast of the United States. I am more concerned about a freighter off the coast of California sending up an EMP-capable missile – or overhead satellite.

JR ~ Please keep the Jeep project items coming. This is on my list for 2017, possibly to tow behind the F150, and other ideas.I plan to suck my son-in-law into this so I can get him prepping. BTW: Here in Phoenix, Cracker Barrel is right next door to Cabelas. Tough huh?
