From the Desk of John Rourke – February 6th, 2017

Efforts in organization over the weekend ended up being an effort in futility. Too many distracted to get much completed though I did start. Also updated the spreadsheet and got it ready to start entering supplies.

The sales on forearms continue to be impressive. I’ve seen online sales for $399 complete AR-15’s. I think the overproduction of firearms and ammunition anticipating a HUGE run with Hillary being elected is still showing. Great time to pick something up and/or stock up.

As the American Reformation article being published today mentions Liberal groups are becoming more and more violent. It is being reported that Conservatives in the San Francisco area are fearful for their own safety. They are keeping their beliefs to themselves and meet with fellow Conservatives under the cloak of secrecy.

Over the weekend 1776PatriotUSA.com moved up a few spots over at Top Prepper Sites and am not sitting at #62. Appreciate the votes and feel free to click HERE to keep it going.

Starbucks pledges to hire 10,000 immigrants. What kind of insanity is this? If I was an investor in Starbucks I would ask – “Why not hire the most qualified?” How about hiring American’s?

meh .. super bowl weekend …
Pieces and parts are less expensive as well .. so taking an opportunity to get spares

If you look at some of the chat and blogs groups .. they are far more hateful and inciting than the majority of conservative sites .. other than the odd user or two.
Hiding to meet ? That doesn’t sound like America does it.. can’t say I blame them after Berkeley. I expect if you have good persec and are Gray .. your are fine.. Just sayin… until the SS goes door to door anyway.

I see Black Rifle Coffee has pledged to hire 10,000 Veterans, and that Star Bucks made a lame half hearted apology .. If you are going to make Bold Political statements… you have to be willing to Pay the Price.. If you sell $5.00 cups of coffee.. more so.. “Vanity, thy name is StarBucks”

I was thinking the Identical same thing Goinggray58. To late…when you make such a bold political statement like that, especially, when you blindly think your liberal supporters are 100% keeping you in business. The same blind futility of the liberal media and polls who supported,…tried to force people to vote for Hitlery. I was so pissed off it pushed me over the top. I know some of our readers never liked Starbucks and perhaps others did.

I was struggling off and on going to Starbucks. Only because in a rush they are on each corner and I need really strong coffee. I don’t care now. Their statement is CLEAR. It says, Starbucks is Anti-American..while in America. It says we don’t care about our Military and we don’t care about the common man. That means me, so forget em. I will drive out of my way to get coffee from a local spot or buy coffee by the bags for home brewed coffee.

These evil liberals still haven’t figured out and sadly some Americans have also not figured it out. We are not the low information voters. Our struggle is only the personal conviction and motivation to take a stand. The liberals are so shocked and dumb founded that people are not blindly following their lead in mass. Which is sad for some Americans that still follow and don’t realize they have the power. They just go with the status quo. Others like us and I’m sure quite on few readers here do not follow the status quo.

        Capt.
I think you have to consider that Ignorance is only one of the possibilities. The other two are worse. One .. we have become “soft”, so one of the choices is that we are fearful. FEAR causes people with no spine to “go along to get along”, a phrase I detest. The PC version of everything is DO NOT STAND UP. It has cost me money and position and am OK with that. (I have other words, but not printable ones).

The second choice is, I’ll call it blinders. And maybe it is just fear again. Blinders, I would say, is a deliberate avoidance of seeing or understanding what is happening and what it means, because you don’t want to know. Maybe it’s just normalcy bias, in struggling to ensure things remain comfortable as you remember them. The real problem with normalcy bias, is that when it can no longer be maintained by a majority, it can seem as though an all at once thing. Like a bomb went off the results are catastrophic. If we could figure a way for a partial slip, it would work better. It woudl still be awful, just not as awful.
The other thought I have about swinging back the other way, like a pendulum, it swings just as far wrong in the other direction as it did in the first. I’m pretty convinced that any ideology in change drunk on power will abuse its privilege. Call that peak and valley maybe, like a sine wave. The gentler the crest, the gentler the trough.

OK thinking too much AND it’s Monday. I better stop.
        Good thoughts Capt.

Oh, oh..forgot to add this for you guys. Here is the immediate affect of Starbucks choice to make such a political statement. Starbucks opens at 5am, so there is no reason this particular one should not be open. Starbucks forces it’s employees to come to work no matter what the conditions are. Also, the whole point is not necessarily the expensive drinks…it’s your money to spend as you want as a customer. What is about…it’s about where and which company we choose to support with out business. (Scroll down and read some of the comments of this link) Feel free to share the link.

I’ve already picked up a couple deals from panic buys before the election people were getting rid of, I’m kind of surprised ammo hasn’t dropped lower. I worked on some organizing and turned into a firearm cleaning session. Before the election I had bought some spare parts for the Glocks and AR’s putting them into those hinged topped divided clear organizers – greatest thing I’ve ever done. I also noticed a huge flaw I’ve overlooked – cleaning gear. I was woefully low on chamber brushes, toothbrushes, bore solvent but had plenty of lubricant (couple friends of mine made up a few gallons of ATF & something else) that has been some fantastic long lasting lubricant. Will be changing that ASAP.

Question- If we get fried the phones, even cell phones wont work-correct? If there are pther interruptions -like no shipping etc. wouldnt the cell phones also become obsolete if people cannot renew their contracts etc? What are some ideas for communication -besides walkie talkies and ham radio ? Thanks.Lightning

    1. JR says:

Lightning – good question. If landline phones stop working cell phones may still work. They are on a separate system and most cell phone towers have backup batteries. That would last for a little while. Your standard FRS/GMRS radio’s found at Wal-Mart are excellent for short range communication – 1-2 miles depending on terrain and outdoors. If not walkie talkies or ham – there is always the old two cans and a string. Well – not really. There are surplus military radio’s that are connected by a wire if the distance between those “talking” is not too great.

      Am I missing anything folks?

      1. goingray58 says:

Surplus military phones.. using wire .. “field phones”. Can be had for $60.00 to $200.00 per depending on where and availability .. Not sensitive to EMP/CMP … You have to have a lot of wire though and bury it and a switch board if it isn’t a single point to point.. etc.. Anyway limited to local communications usually.
Almost everything used to communicate in emergency situations will be HAM (HF/UHF/VHF).. voice, data and CW (morse code). Depending on the severity you might use a relay so smaller power radios can cover more area.. or stringer radios may go point to point .. depending on any number of conditions.. If it has a chip it is susceptible .. you could of course pick up and older tube type radio and they are not.
Feel like learning morse ? While it isn’t a requirement for licensing anymore, the military had dropped it for non signal positions, I understand they have added it back as a requirement for radioment and comms positions. It takes extremely low bandwidth and power to go very long distances with morse. So I’m considering it, once the licensing is out of the way. Then you can reasonably store protected, some $30.00 -$100.. handhelds if the base gets whacked for whatever reason. Alternate power should be considered as well of course ..

There’s a way of modifying the older rotary phones to use as field phones on indestructibles and youtube using a 9v battery and a resistor, we’ve thought about getting several to use since the surplus field phones once found for $20 each are now well into the 75 to 100 range. I think this garage sale season we’ll be picking up a half dozen plus as much wire, just in case.
