Prep’s This Week

Not a whole lot done this past week. Worked on the storage shed at the retreat. That will be great once complete. Worked on my latest AR build which is almost complete and will share soon. Attended another ham radio class.  I also continued my reading of A Haunt for Jackals: Seven Cows, Ugly and Gaunt Book 3. Excellent series. I highly recommend it. Received three 1-ounce silver rounds from my subscription with Montana Rarities.

Managed to pick up a couple new firearms – a Mossberg 930 Blackwater in mint condition and another S&W M&P15-22. Both came from a close friend and both were great deals.

Looking forward to getting some time off around Christmas and New Years. Need to relax.

Although not many tangible assets(other than the guns) were acquired planning for 2017 was continued.

OK – how about you?

What prepping have you done over the last week?

Just when you think you have it all together, God hands you a Learning Experience! Our winterized home didn’t come close to keeping us warm during the recent Arctic blast we had. Winter for us is generally in the 20’s and 30’s. We were =5 with high winds for a couple days, so I need to seriously rethink our cold-weather preps.

We’re expected to take the plunge later today in the afternoon. expected to drop from 70 at 2pm then nose dive to 30 degrees by 6pm and hit 20 later but with wind speeds of 35mph our wind chill will be 0 degrees here in the DFW area

Afternoon folks, this past week or two has been stock the freezer time. Added 3 deer, butchered the last 2 turkey and 6 rabbits all added to freezer. With the current political/economic environment we have also stepped up our retreat projects. For the first time in 20 years my gut is telling me something that has me concerned.

    Stay Safe All

P.S. we just received 12″ of snow as followup to a week of windchills running -10 to -35 degrees, gotta love north wood winters.

Prepping this week was about organizing. Had some items in garage and others in the storage building. Threw out some items taking up space in the storage, got it all together and took inventory. Realized to the positive, I had more than I thought and can grab things more quick now. It also made some space in the garage where I can organize and store more things.
    – Keep Looking UP

Yes here it snowed and the windchills brought the temperature of minus 10 to about minus 30. Despite winterizing very thoroughly the house was hard to keep warm so Single Mom I hear you. Our wood stove helps immensely.
Rourke- I hope y0u will pass your test.I have heard its a rough one.
Ice grippers are worth every penny during these icy times.
Can someone please explain to me why everyone is feeling that something awful is going to happen.I feel better now that Trump has been elected.

Dairy, feel free to keep winter at your house; I’ve had enough of it already! Lightning, I think my fear “about” Trump is just that the snowflakes won’t let it go. I’m seeing the same hatred and vindictiveness that my now-ex showed when I asked for a divorce and he announced that he was entitled to everything the kids and I had ever owned. It was a terrifying period that didn’t end for a long time, because he was determined to destroy us regardless of the cost to himself. He defied all laws and common sense in his efforts to convince everyone that he was in the right and that we needed him to tell us what to do.

Lightning, my concern about Trump is that conservatives will turn on him because he’s not doing what he promised during campaign fast enough – especially about the illegals and ‘draining the swamp’. I know people who think this guy is the nations savior and being put on a pedestal to worship. We have a way of eating our own when things aren’t moving at a fast enough pace, liberals agendas take years to get into our society and they’re okay with it. Conservatives have a habit believing a agenda should only take a few weeks or a few months to take effect. Also, the elites on both sides, the liberal left and media have lost their collective minds that HC & status quo didn’t win. They will do whatever they can to make fly-over America pay for electing Trump, protests being planned, national day of protest on Jan 20th, bribing electors to vote someone else, liberals even telling their own to start buying guns?! Already interest rates up 1/4% just after election when they should have gone up months ago & now saying at least 3 more rate increases are needed in 2017? Soon you’ll see the media reporting the real unemployment and inflation numbers blaming it on Trump. This stock market bubble HAS to burst, it makes no sense what so ever why it’s climbing like it is. Every time I hear the media say “new record high for the markets” I buy a couple bags of rice, beans and box of ammo. just my worthless .02 cents.

I agree jh. I have already heard a few Conservatives prematurely give up on Trump because of a pick of a particular position of an apparent relaxing on something he said during he campaign.
