I recently watched a Tucker Carlson podcast where he was interviewing Shawn Ryan. Shawn stated multiple times that “everything is a lie” and that he “doesn’t believe anything” other than the Lord. I have to say I’m right there with him.
I grew up believing certain “facts”, certain traditional beliefs, and if anyone suggested anything different, I scoffed, shook my head, and thought them to be idiotic.
I feel bad. Many of them said things that I now absolutely believe.
The truth is, what I believe is that we should only be concerned with what we can control or influence. That means our immediate household, community, and family. Yes, you can throw friends in there as well.
I cannot control what society believes, but I can influence my grandkids. I can also influence people in my community by engaging them in conversation about government, policies, politics, life, and God.
Bottomline: Getting upset, angry, and pissed off because the devil-incarnate Maxine Watters in Los Angles says something I disagree with is a complete waste of energy. Teaching my grandson how to plant cucumbers in some dirt and then pick them 50 days later? Invaluable.
Influence that which you can. The rest? Don’t waste your valuable energy.
