Good luck. You’ve a lot of work ahead.
I retired and did this about 11 years ago First thing I did was put up fences.
Dont let urgency overwhelm you. You’ll get there and eventually feel comfortable again. I believe you remember me from way back, on your first site. Welcome to my Youtube channel, look around.

Good luck, hardware cloth for the chicken coop, chicken wire doesn’t last and New England is a rock garden so most.digging will be by back hoes

We feel it! However, we are at a point where our major efforts are construction/expansion oriented. What preps we have space for are in good shape. We continue to use our “new” freeze drier” to “put up” things we are getting on sale and that were in the freezer.

JP – Maine Prepper Girl and I have discussed getting a freeze drier. Possibly this Fall and using it to build our food storage program. The first thing will be canning. MPG does not have any experience canning while I have done water bath as well pressure canning. Can’t wait until the late summer to start canning food grown in the garden and bought at local Farmrs Markets

RC – absolutely. The growing seasoning is quite different. In South Carolina, I had two full seasons – April thru June then July thru September. I’m planning to add a greenhouse next year and some “window boxes” to add a few weeks to the growing season. I am very experienced with gardening, however, this new area/season will take some getting used to.

THanks for sharing. You probably have acidic soil ( get it tested at your county Master gardener extension office ) which is great for tomatoes, berries, pine trees , ) I wish you both the best . Maine is a beautiful state
    but cold !!
If you are ever travelling and need a stop over in upstate NY you are welcomed. We live 30 west of Albany,NY.

Thanks Arlene and I will keep that traveling in mind. Last time I traveled through New York I was going to reach out but got detoured south due to severe winter weather. Take care Arlene!!
