The long-awaited first debate between President Trump and Joe Biden finally happened. Approx 90 minutes in length, there were no real surprises. So much focus has been given and expectations were high on both sides. For me, there were no real surprises.
Trump and Biden threw jabs back and forth and several times it became personal. Fact-checkers likely could not type fast enough as many blatant lies came out of Biden’s mouth, and frequent “exaggerations” out of Trump’s. Trump certainly appeared to be in command and was aggressive. He was relentless against Biden(as well as Wallace at times) and Biden appeared to be unable to handle it. While Trump struggled during the discussion surrounding the coronavirus, he excelled when talking about Law-and-Order. Trump constantly interrupted Biden and argued with the moderator – Chris Wallace. Biden appeared to be very frail. Trump was Trump – and Biden was not what he used to be. As a professional politician Biden should have walked away the clear winner. He did not.
Chris Wallace is being attacked by the Right for taking sides with Biden. It certainly appeared based on a few of the questions asked that he was trying to “get” the President while not asking those same questions to Biden. Wallace also kept using some of Trump’s allotted time asking him questions and interrupting him while Trump spoke.

Trump was not likable and failed to present his beliefs and policies clearly. Biden spoke lies and refused to answer questions directly often being general. Those voters who already have their candidate didn’t have their minds changed.
A couple highlights for me was Trump asking Biden to tell him one law enforcement agency that was supporting Biden. Biden could not provide one. Another is when Biden stated Antifa was not an organization, it was an idea.
Hopefully, during the next debate, Trump can hold back a bit on interrupting and stay focussed on the question and provide clearer answers and information. That may be difficult as Trump will likely be debating not only Biden but the moderator Steve Scully as well.

Totally agree Rourke. I can’t vote for any Democrat based on their platform and beliefs, that’s just me. I believe a lot of our country’s ills have to do with turning our back on the Lord and the Word of God. Abortion is a mighty offense before Almighty God. America has become Sodom and Gomorrah and without repentance we will face His wrath and Judgement! The debate for me was watching Biden and analyzing his health mentally and physically. Don’t know why we can’t find some younger electable candidates? Of course, all the lies came out in the process of watching. A Democratic staple, not that all elected officials don’t do it. Biggest problem with the Republicans is so many are mamby pamby. They need more with balls, like Trump, Cruz, Gowdy. I’ll be voting TRUMP 2020. Keep Looking Up
as expected… Trump is Trump and Biden is Biden.. Trump can’t control his speaking in situ and Biden is weak and ineffective. No one’s mind was changed. Denying the drug test and ear inspection was something that should not have been allowed.
Once anyone enters public life, from that point forward they are essentially public property.. with less privacy.
Of course the media and commenters immediately began to tell everyone what they heard regardless of whether they said it.. or not. .spin, media and politics..
sigh!

It was a cluster F**k! It was very cringe worthy to even watch. Trump needs to do better and let Biden just be Biden. Chris Wallace didn’t help things out either. He’s a POS!
Trump will start running commercials showing Antifa/BLM violence, then it will break to Trump and Biden’s exchange last night: Biden saying “Antifa isn’t an organization, it’s an idea”, and Trump’s “When a bat hits you over the head, that’s not an idea“ retort. It was the best line of the night.
President Trump needed to stop interrupting Biden. His interruptions allow Biden to stop talking and to regroup his thoughts. Every time Biden was on the verge of a melt down/Gaff, Trump would interrupt, allowing Biden to reset.
At one point well into the “debate” I heard Biden make a comment and I told my wife I thought he was ordering an enchilada for dinner. A radio station slowed it down and there was no “da” at the end of “Inshallah” !!
Disturbing, but/and revealing!
I percolated some thoughts about last nights performance that are slightly out of the box but plausible in my estimation. Biden spoke more words and was for most of the time, more cogent than he has been all year long. Question, why? Certain drugs that affect alertness, mental clarity etc probably played a role. And I would not rule out some high tech implant that affects speaking and receiving information from outside the body. Lets face it, he was not the Biden we have seen all year long if not longer. I don’t think his past persona was a sham either. And I think Trumps aggressive demeanor right out of the starting gate was planned in advance. His team surely suspects Biden would cheat in some manner, and of course he refused Trumps challenge of drug screening and checking ears for audio devices. But I think it goes further, perhaps people that are under the influence of mind enhancing drugs are easily ‘pushed off track’ mentally when they encounter a ‘pattern interrupt’ i.e., Trump being really in his face, in an effort to see if they could make him go off the rails. Also it was quite apparent that Bidens team was given advance knowledge of the questions, the responses by him were too pat, and too quickly delivered. At one point he almost blurted out the answer before Wallace was finished. And the questions were unfairly tilted against Trump i.e. tax return issue among others. Lastly, Wallace moderating was anything but impartial by a country mile. I do not think Trump should be aggressive in the manner he was next time, unless responding to an out and out offense. Biden is one who only needs enough rope to hang himself. His nepotistic family dealings of graft and corruption should be enough to aid in his fall. Napolean said never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.
Chris interrupted Trump 86 times while he interrupted Biden 14 times. Biden would start getting into trouble, and Chris would finish speaking for him. Chris was making statements about the job reports for the democrats. Biden was blaming Trump for not shutting the country down fast enough then ten minutes later he was blaming Trump for opening country back up to soon, complaining about schools being open and all… any why is it that EVERY democrat city and state reopens after the election in the height of the November flu season…. it’s not hard to connect the dots here unless your uncle is also your dad! I can’t believe the stupidity on display in this election, the only way I can make sense of it is positions truly believe American citizens are plum fing stupid!! Only thing that explains it for me. Guess we’ll see if their right on November 3rd won’t we? I predict a BIG RED TSUNAMI! But who the f am I? A pissed off American
A minor diversion.
