My turn…..

Politics: I’ve started my break from politics for a couple weeks. I know I’m not alone as others do similar things. Obviously, if something major occurs I’ll jump back in. In the meantime just trying to gain my sanity back.

Appreciate the Votes over at the Top Prepper Sites. I’ve moved into 28th place with a long ways to go to reach 27th. Remember you can vote daily. Thanks! Vote HERE.

If I could just go back in time……

JR, there are mornings, like this one, where I wake up, stumble into the kitchen, get my first coffee and sit back trying to determine what planet I’m on. This is one of those mornings. I know I need to complete the job of pulling the dead plants from the garden and start prepping the soil for the fall crop. That is a given. I will also work on the boat to finalize the preps for the fall fishing on the coast along McClellanville and Georgetown, SC. Had planned on a easy relaxing weekend. Then, I looked at my e-mails and the news at all the discourse and mayhem in this country and the world. Oh the heck with it. Scotty, beam me up. I have failed to find intelligent life down here.

@Oren you hit the nail on the head…I feel the same way and sometimes I think I’m alone thinking this way. Then I snap out of it and go on prepping – it is the only thing that keeps me sane in this world 🙂

I too, have stepped away from the hysteria going on in the country and world. I came to the conclusion, I can’t change it, I can’t stop it, and stressing about it is counter productive. I have prepped the best I can. I live in Eastern Washington and right now I need to concentrate on wild fires. The smoke from the horrible fires in Canada invaded two days ago with a vengeance. It got to me last night. Mild case of inhalation. OK this morning and the smoke has cleared some. The world will have to get along with out me for a while!

Michael Snyder, a commentator I don’t necessarily follow, has predicted lately that the left is convinced they have a chance of unseating Trump. His prediction or warning to the Left is that if they unseat Trump, there will be at least 60 million very angry voters who see the snowflakes casting the conservative votes away. He predicts very violent street confrontations which will lead to a civil war. Well, that is just a really pleasant thought. Can you imagine our country falling into a civil war? If so, just add this. While we are at it killing each other, North Korea takes the opportunity to lob over an EMP weapon. That will be like a buck of ice water on us. It will slow down the fighting, won’t stop it, and will plunge us into the early 1800’s. Of course, thru the benevolence of the UN, order will be restored and we could end up under UN governance. That in itself would partition the country. End result, no more US of A. This is one scenario going on today. The other is the cutting off at the knees of Trump by our do nothing Congress. Did you read the article in the today’s news where there was a bill passed with only two abstentions (Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders) to cut off Trump’s ability to work foreign policy? Now he must have permission from Congress!! Not to mention the sanctions they have imposed on Russia in this bill. For all of you younger folks out there, since the public school system darned sure hasn’t taught you any US History, you need to research the years prior to WWII with regard to Japan and trade sanctons by the US. And of course the DOW passed 22,000 this week. Just a steeper hill to slid down. Yep, I’m really optimistic.

Yes life is challenging and the world with its INSTANT notification of evil acts makes
the world seem extra horrible. However if you can get up and have coffee and have a healthy
enough body and enough time to prep a bit then please count your blessings.Hospitals are filled with those who cannot do what they enjoy.
Each day in America is a gift most of the rest of the world wishes they had.
My beloved husband of 47 years recently passed away.He is out of his suffering and pain and he had exc. care at the VA hospital with hospice. I miss her terribly. Please take the time to enjoy time with your friends and loved ones-every day is precious. I was his caregiver for several years and it was tough but you do what you can do.Help others please.
Teach your loved ones- family about all you can.- about the daily tasks that you perform. We tried to do this but now I am
running our homestead with help from our adult children .One of whom lives here with me and my sister. We prepped hard and well for years but one never knows whats coming.
Faith is whats keeping me sane. Belief in an afterlife and the freedoms in our country
are keeping me motivated-because grief is a real tough journey to travel through.
    Your prayers are appreciated. Lightning

Lightning….i am sorry for the empty spot you have in your life, 47 years is a long time to journey along side of him and not feel lost on this new path sometimes, BUT YOU are one strong woman and are also in many of our prayers. Your perspective on enjoyment of the present moment, loved ones around us and the blessings at hand are spot on….thank you. You have been in my thoughts much lately as your posts were not so frequent. As much as we like to think we have it all under control, walking through the valley with a loved one will make plain that our sphere of influence is more minutely limited than we would want. Take care of you…no one else knows what you need.
