This 3-day winter outdoor adventure video comes from one of my favorite YouTube channels – The Outdoor Gear Review. With a decent internet connection, there is so much free entertainment available that is not only great to watch but educational as well. Many of Luke’s longer adventure videos allow you to experience hikes, camping, shelter construction, and experience the outdoors with him if you’ve got a little imagination. I’ve picked up a few camp stoves and backpacks that he has reviewed as well.
In the following video, Luke heads into the wilderness as a huge winter storm approaches in December of 2018. Enjoy the video and immerse yourself in the midst of the coming snowstorm and try to stay warm!
If you don’t test your gear, you won’t know their weakness strength or even proper use. When I was hiking the AT, I learned a lot about what works, what doesn’t, how to multitask gear, how to reduce a pack weight which after weeks and months of hiking is huge. Just because you have 75 pounds of gear doesn’t mean you need it or can carry it.
Same principle goes with firearms. If you don’t practice, build muscle memory reflex or know what ammunition is the most accurate and reliable, you are setting yourself up for failure when you may need it the most. Does that new AR function with steel case ammo? Is your 10/22 more accurate with subs or supers? Untested gear and guns that are safe queens are recipes for failure.
