   We need to have an immigration system based on vetting BEFORE the immigrant gets here. If someone is coming to the US they also should plan on becoming part of this culture. If they don’t want to do that, then they should stay where they are.

   As much as it pains me to say it .. the boat will only hold so many… If it is worse everywhere else than it is here.. can they all come here ? Obviously not. Even if they are wanting to assimilate, we could not support the entire world could we?
   IMO then.. we have to pick and choose who gets access.
   Imagine you are at your retreat, with all your superior preps fully in place.
   Food, water, defense, medical … all for your family.
   What questions woudl you ask before you decided someone could enter your community? Who would you be willing to expose your family to ?
   I dare say it woudl be stringent and unforgiving even though you feel bad for then, because the cost of failure is to great.
   I respectfully submit that is exactly what we have,, The US is a retreat and shoudl be.
   Those not skillful, willing to contribute and work for the good over all need not be here. If admitted and they commit any infraction to prove otherwise, be forced to leave. Then enforce it equally.

   Maybe I’m too hard…. but I woudl let someone one figure it out elsewhere before I hurt my family through bad decisions. Moreover if they decided to take it or force access, unless they won they would only do it once.

   Lincoln’s comment has the sense of the US and I agree. It doesn’t say or imply that they should all come here, rather that we should be a model. Others can follow it or not.

   Found a VERY interesting post about”Immigration Simplified Using Only Gumballs” from Numbers USA. This video makes plain and simple just what impact the USA has with their immigration system on the world. I don’t disagree the impact on the individual allowed to immigrate is HUGE/life-changing. Sorry i don’t know how to insert the link….

   Read a comment that resonates with me about immigration….”you don’t lock your door because you hate those outside, you lock it because you love those inside.” I would add that you also cautiously check out anyone who knocks and wants to come in….

   Oh…another tidbit that turned up after inauguration…the Whitehouse website in Spanish reportedly disappeared along with the WH Spanish Twitter account. Haven’t checked it out yet but supposedly a page comes up stating English is the language of the USA. Agreed Oren, if an individual intends to immigrate, they should plan on integrating fully. Someone in the new administration must agree.
