What got you into survival & preparedness?

Growing up in the early 80’s I was very aware of the nuclear threat from the former-Soviet Union. It came naturally to ask the questions, “What if there was a nuclear war? How could we prepare?”

While many may dispute the survivability of such a conflict as a teenager I read everything I could on survival. I spent countless hours reading SURVIVE magazine and then AMERICAN SURVIVAL GUIDE. Planning for bad times became engrained in me. So – since my early teenage year’s survival & preparedness has just made sense.

Am I correct that you went through a divorce recently?

Yes. A little over three years ago I went through some very difficult times. My involvement in the preparedness community all but ceased as I had to focus on myself. I also lost my job during this time from a company I had been loyal for over 20 years. To say that I had a multitude of struggles would be an understatement.

Every single day I just kept moving forward. Always moving forward.

What is your favorite gun?

What a question!!! I love shooting .22LR’s. I have two Smith & Wesson M&P15-22’s that are so much fun to shoot. I would have to say that the M&P15-22 is my favorite gun.

Over the years I’ve had a few guns that I sold for one reason or another I wish I still had. When I lived in New Hampshire I picked up a Smith & Wesson 686 Classic Hunter .357 Magnum. I hope one day to get another – no matter the cost. I rank right up there with the M&P15-22.

What is your biggest fear?

Not accomplishing my goals. Not the answer you were expecting? So be it. We are working on our American Exit Strategy. Basically, I want to get a place out in the country – in a very low population density area. Yeah – away from people. I want to live as self-reliant and as self-sufficient as possible.

I’ve spent far too many years of my life thinking and planning to move out in the woods away from people and live a more simple life. I’m disappointed in myself for not accomplishing this already, however, I am determined to make it happen within the next few years.

Why did you create a website?

Great question. Not sure really. Way back in 2010 I started my first as a way to reach out to like-minded folks. I had a lot of thoughts, opinions, and some knowledge when it came to survival and wanted to share. I’ve made some great friends through my websites and had some fantastic experiences.

Why do you have such strong political beliefs?

I don’t consider my beliefs to be political. They are deeply rooted in the founding of this country. My beliefs are not unlike millions of others and they are frequently politicized within our governmental system. I am deeply Patriotic and Conservative. What has happened in this country is frightening, discouraging, and downright bullshit!

The Constitution is the law of the land and the backbone of this country. It has been trampled on and shredded by both Democrats and Republicans. Participation in the political process has largely become a waste of time. Will that change at some point in the future? Maybe.

What is your biggest fear when it comes to an SHTF?

Economic collapse is by far the most realistic and likely scenario that could play out. How exactly it may look is up for discussion and no one can accurately predict precisely the characteristic of such an event. There are just far too many variables involved.

I’ve been studying economic collapse scenarios for the past few decades. It’s just a matter of time with the pathetic deficits and debts our government continues run up that it all comes crashing down. It’s my belief that there will be catastrophic repercussions well beyond the fiscal effects of an economic collapse. Civil war? Something like that. Pretty much a shitstorm.

What did you think of Trump?

I think Trump was, or could have been, the greatest president that ever lived. He has a “potty” mouth and said idiot stupid things. Yup. Guess what? So don’t we. He is what the vast majority of Americans asked for – a non-politician who would come in and do what is best for America. Once he came into office and started to enact his policies it was disappointing to see so many Americans rise against him. So many were influenced and victims of mainstream media, and a system that is all about power rather than what is RIGHT FOR AMERICA.
