This was the phrase spray-painted across bridges and walls in the book, 299 Days. The sending of this message for all to see was an act of civil disobedience. In a world where the government and many of its citizens were over-controlling and against freedom as the Founders established – I Miss America sent a message that THIS America just wasn’t the same.
It wasn’t the same America that fought for freedom in World War I and WWII. It wasn’t the same America that fought against the British for independence of a teeny-tiny tax on tea. It wasn’t the same America that fought against communism on numerous fronts – both domestically and foreign. It was not the same America that won the Cold War against an evil Soviet empire that dominated its citizens and was the epitome of a dictatorship.
Yeah – I miss America as well.

As do I.
It will take far more than this spray painted message to restore the America of our memory and haunted dreams, but what must be done is surely rooted in acts of civil disobedience. We must become ungovernable by those who seek to control and dominate us. How? By steadfast resistance to their edicts. By refusal to comply or submit. By public repudiation of the their message and forceful rebuke of the messenger. By constant and loud ridicule of their thought leaders and enforcers.
Professor Codevilla says it better than I: “The moment that millions of Americans recognize that Twitter and Facebook are enemy institutions, their power ends. The moment that these millions refuse the legitimacy of anything coming from Washington, its power ends.”
When we deny the legitimacy of the government, of oligarchs or any of the flavors of the left, we become ungovernable by them. We reassert our freedom and independence.
We’re wasting time.

Ben,
I think there are many of us out here who agree with you. I started “not complying” during the disastrous years of Obama. I keep a copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. If an edict is issued such as an Executive Order, I simply will not comply. If there is a new law passed that doesn’t line up with either of the two documents, I will not comply. But, we have at least two fold issue. One, so many people are just plain lazy and want to sit back and let the other guy do it. And two, without organization, it’s just a shot in the dark. Our chance of organization is probably gone considering the fact that there are thought police everywhere, especially on the internet now. However, without some form of organization or communication, no one will know if they are in the fight alone or not.
Dennis Prager has begun asking for people to sign up to his new “Emergency Committee for America”. It appears at this time to be a means to have a mail list to alert everyone to various “woke” initiatives coming out of the government for all of us to respond with a flood of e-mails to our elected representatives who sometimes actually work for America. I hope it works. I encourage everyone else to look into it.
Did you notice Wacky Warren says Facebook thinks it’s more powerful than the goverment, it proves the government hates competition.
