The last 3 days have been rough as I’ve had a lot of pain.
I had high hopes that after my latest CT scan, the surgeon would go ahead and pull the drain. Unfortunately, I had the CT scan this past Wednesday and heard from the surgeon on Friday and he said everything continues to look better but he wants the drain to be left in for another week. He then told me he wanted me to get another CT scan.
Here’s the thing: Every time I get a CT scan it’s $600. This next one will be 6 scans so far this year. He said he could make the decision on drain removal based on the appearance of the fluid but I told him I wanted to do it right. So I’ll get another CT scan.
As I mentioned it’s been rough the past few days. I’ve had a lot of nerve pain caused by the drain implanted in my side and the tube that continues through it into my body cavity. Pain meds help some. I just want this to be over so I can fully recover and move forward.
