I hope everyone has a very safe and happy Thanksgiving.
Plans for the day include being in the woods well before light with my youngest hunting for deer. Looking forward to coming home to the smell of dinner cooking. Desert will include pumpkin pie and family favorite “fruit salad”. Fruit salad is basically drained fruit cocktail with bananas added in and it all sits in a bed of whip cream. Tasty!!!!
I’ll watch Christmas Vacation and just try to relax.
Take care all –
Rourke
Oh – interested in hearing about the first Thanksgiving? Here is an old podcast where Jason Ackers discusses his thoughts on what the first Thanksgiving was probably like.
Happy Thanksgiving to you also, JR.
Happy thanksgiving buddy, good luck on bagging that deer! 🙂
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and ALL of your loved ones.
Happy Thanksgiving…
Happy Thanksgiving! The daughter’s handling this year’s meal, and I’m looking forward to sitting back and relaxing all day. May you not have our rain for your hunting!
Happy Thanksgiving JR and all.
– Keep Looking UP
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
JR, hope you get a deer today or at least I hope your youngest got one.
I was out at our bug out land Tuesday with my Grandson and saw 5 scrapes (which I used as an opportunity to teach my Grandson about). It gave me the “bug” to go hunting. I am not much on venison so don’t care about harvesting them much any more, but it did give me the desire to get out there at daylight to see one. It’s an adventure to see a buck work on a scrape.
Another reason not to harvest the deer now, if we have a SHTF episode, the deer are part of the plan to survive.
Eat lots of turkey!
Happy Thanksgiving and good luck. I bagged a nice Blacktail early in the season here in Oregon. Trying for black bear this weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving Rourke!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and everyone else also – my brother & his son went with their neighbor on Thanksgiving day, to state hunting area. The neighbor shot a doe (dropped it in it’s tracks) and a buck (they have tags up to 3 due to over population), tracked the buck about 200 yards over a hill and found five guys standing around and one guy in the process of gutting it. One guy said “Is this yours?” Neighbor replied “Yes”, one of the guys said “thanks” and they took off with it. Sheriff said nothing can be done, unless they have video of it happening – it’s He said, she said.
