Goals & Objectives.

I’m a pretty goal-oriented guy. Success for me is directly related to the completion of goals and objectives. I’m always planning for the future and creating lists of tasks to complete that move me constantly forward towards my goals. An inch forward is still an inch forward no matter how you look at it.

Over the years I’ve searched for numerous ways to keep track of projects and the tasks associated. From a yellow pad of paper(must be college-ruled!) to software – I’ve tried lots of methods. After many years I’ve come down to two systems I use to stay organized and focused:

1. A Project Spreadsheet

I’ll post a link to the exact spreadsheet I use below.  Basically, you have a space to place what the goal or objective is – and then under list the tasks that must be completed in order to complete. Beginning and end dates can be added as well as what percentage of completion each task is at.  Feel free to download it and modify it as you wish.

2. Google Keep

Google Keep is a virtual “Post-It Notes.” As you can see from the picture below individual lists can be made and each one customized with color if needed. I use “tabs” that are checklists so as I complete things on the list I check it off.

Google Keep is portable as it is on my phone and my phone is with me everywhere I go.

Oh – and it’s free.

I use these tools for all aspects of my life including preparedness, financial, health, etc.

Take care all.

We are entering into the next phase for us. We are in the process of buying a new (to-us) home about 35 miles from where we are. It’s on the far end of town, well, no-HOA and very few rules, .4 acres, 1-level, 2-car attached, 1-car detached garages. More details coming out with the inspections/evals coming.

Fixed my 2006 Dodge Diesel’s tendency to wander around at speed (60+). My last tires were 8-ply vs. the 10-ply I asked for. Everybody said the problem was not the tires. Spend $4,000 changing out front end part. This year I spend $900 on new 10-ply Michelin’s, like I’ve had on my other 2 diesels, and the problem went away. Since we were now keeping the truck, I took it in for maintenance – new hoses, fluids, and belts. Estimated $800. Turns out it was needing more than just that; lots of rust damage. So, now that we have finished replacing everything under the body, and spent another $5,000. But that means I get to keep my (now almost new) pre-DEF truck. New ones are running $65-75,000 – way outside of our means.

So, prepping purchases are pretty much on hold for now; but we are well stocked. This move is a big step towards our self-sufficiency/retirement goal. We’re pleased at the way things are going.

(PS. Then the DW breaks her leg. Surgery today, 6 weeks of being laid up, 4 months of rehab. But we’ll make it work.

I heard a rumor about ‘free’:

Any ‘free’ applications for my telephone, ‘free’ awards cards at the grocery, ‘free’ awards Visa/MasterCharge credit-cards are used by the provider to collect information about me.
This information is sold, often to accumulaters of such information, to form a personalized advertisement campaign aimed at my potential acquisitions.
The ‘product’ is me… and my extrapolated potential purchases based on products/services I prefer.
The ‘product’ is me… and my non-compliance/criminal potential based on products/services I avoid.

As I contemplated the trendy new ‘free’ inoculations for the latest chinese influenza variants, I realized the information about the compliant/submissive/hivers — and those rebels [ points to self ] with zero-zero-zero intentions of never getting stabbed — indicates those information accumulaters are having an ‘A-plus’ time!

Using lists of inocs, I can imagine somebody offering a tailor-made campaign for, say, an upcoming election or to amass support for a particularly obnoxious new ‘law’… particularly for a ‘law’ pitting the hivers against (insert EVIL! individual/group du-jour).

In my experience with hive-people, their every thought is political.
For hivers, their every act is designed to further their political agenda.
They happily accept the inoculation stab because that makes them feel safe as part of the hive.

So, ‘no thanks’ to the ‘free’ downloads about tracking my stuff.
I will probably continue to use my eyeballs to maintain my inventory.

    I heard a rumor about down-load up-grades for Google© and other telephone applications…

Some folk claim their photographs and videos are scanned for ‘offensive’ content.
If, for example, I have a humorous meme ridiculing a certain half-wit resident of TheWhiteHouse, my new up-graded application places me in a ‘watch’ category.
A meme praising a certain past-resident of TheWhiteHouse nudges me deeper into that category.

(If I was the conspiracy type — which I assure you I most assuredly am not — I could imagine writing comments to obscure WorldWideWeb contrarians firmly establishes me as ‘never gets out’ of the ‘watch’ category.)

Other folk claim ‘offensive’ photographs and videos are ‘disappeared’ immediately after an up-grade.

Now, I am not one to see a spiracy behind every GMO bush, but if the con fits…
