Today is the day Jack Carr’s latest book is released….Red Sky Mourning. I’ve been waiting for months to open my Audible app and start listening during my long drive to work.

HEALTH NEWS: Once again I appreciate all the well wishes and prayers as well as donations to my GoFundMe. As in my last update, I had the drain removed on June 6th. So far I’ve been doing pretty good. For the first week, I continued to experience some pain. It was very concerning and yeah, I’m a bit paranoid about it coming back. It’s possible that my spleen could become problematic again. If that should happen the surgeon suggested a drain would be installed once again and if that failed to resolve the fluid buildup my spleen would need to be removed.
That would be less than ideal. I really don’t want to contemplate beyond that, although, I would still be able to fight zombies.
I’ll continue to pray for healing and improved health.

Here’s another video of my growing grandson exploring and learning about gardening. He loves to help his “Pop” out. We bought him a small wheelbarrow and he is so proud to put dirt and tools and transport them to the next area where we will work.
I’ve got to step it up and start posting more often. Between working 40 hours per week and driving another 12 and then trying to get the homestead going there leaves little time. Regardless – I’ll get on it and be more consistent.

Sure is a cute little bugger! Great job bringing him up right!
A book I bet this group would love is Randy Wayne White’s latest release from the Doc Ford Series: One Deadly Eye. I must admit I’m a bit biased because he’s made me a character in most of the series starting back in 1990 I think with the first of the series: The Heat Islands followed by the sequel, Sanibel Flats. We guided fishing trips out of Tarpon Bay Marina starting in 1980. Randy endured the storm (Ian) right on the Gulf in his home on Sanibel and the massive storm surge as I did just off Island. He’s still on the book signing tour for this one. I saw him last week at the Ft Myers Beach Doc Ford’s restaurant and he made me feel like a rock star in front of the crowd telling them about our shared history and that he includes me in most of the books. One lady had me sign her book! lol Pretty cool! He does most of his writing at a 500 acre defunct gun range. The place amazing with cougars, hogs, gators, turkeys, and deer all over it. The steel target plates stand frozen in time from the pistol range out to 1000 meters. Last time I was up there we made a lot of noise waking those targets up with my light machine gun and some other toys. Like two little kids playing all day!
Hope you are feeling better soon. Keeping you in my prayers.
CatTurbo – Sorry for the late reply. Sounds like you have a great friend and had an absolute ball at the restaurant as well as at that range. I’ll check that book out.
The little one’s growing so quickly, and I can’t believe you guys have gazinis already! I had to replant all my tomatoes, and so far I’m not seeing anything, although the lone pepper is coming along nicely. It’s on the porch, out of reach of critters!
Family favorite recipe: Slice gazinis, layer with chunky tomato sauce and shredded mozzarella or provolone. Optional bread crumbs on top. Bake until done. It makes a good side for meatloaf or burgers.
Love the sounds of that recipe SingleMom! We might try that one. MPG made Taco Zucchini Boats a few nights ago. Basically a half zucchini hollowed out and filled with lean beef, corn, peppers, onions, with taco seasoning. They were fantastic. I’ll get MPG to post the recipe.
