From the Desk of John Rourke – December 7th, 2016

It was on December 7th, 1941 that 353 Japanese bombers attacked the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, destroying 19 ships, 188 aircraft and killing over 2,000 Americans. It was this act that drove the United States into World War II. Always remember.

Attended the second class towards getting my ham license. So far pretty cool and have learned a decent amount. Actually I probably have more questions now than before. Hopefully I’ll pass the test when I take it on December 17th.

Reports are that Area 51 has expanded greatly over the last few years. This is important as we prep for the coming galactic war……right?

L…o..L. Funny picture. I’m using it. The Japan invaded Taiwan, American responded with tactful and peaceful means of embargoes. The US asked Japan to leave Taiwan to stop the embargo.
Regardless, of the details, chain of command, and/or “who’s fault” in the chain of command. Japan responded with the sneak attack, murder of Americans.

Fast forward to the end. Not only did America warn the Japanese to stop or else we would unleash total destruction, “The bomb”, but after the first one fell, we had to unleash a second, because they Still would not submit. That fault chain was crushed then. They started it, we finished it.

This is the first year that I remember not seeing or hearing a single word about Pearl Harbor in the media or personal conversations. We get a lot of vets at work, but they never mentioned it either. I find that very sad. Even worse was when I mentioned it to a younger co-worker yesterday, and they told me that they didn’t even know it was Pearl Harbor Day.
